I might get jumped for this but I don’t understand how easily people can just look past incest and pedophilia just because it’s “fiction” that logic doesn’t make sense to me 😕

The first night Allicent visited the king, she showed her beauty by wearing her mother's dress and her kindness by bringing a book. A bastard child could never be the heir. If Hightower wants his daughter to become queen, he has to play a long game. I think the word you are looking for to describe Rhaenys is "pragmatic."

They really have come through with another exceptional cast and of course I have to mention that one of your faves, Rhaenyra, is Aussie actress Milly Alcock. Besides him being Velaryon, him having that fleet is another reason that it made since for his daughter to be chosen.

2022-11-12 05:13:48 +0000 UTCGeorge RR Martin said that that Daemon is one of the “greyest“ characters of the franchise (and also his favourite) and I think that’s so true… some of his actions might be questionable but in the end the love for his family always shines through.. also I wasn’t sure if you picked up on it but Lord Corlys Velaryon and the Sea Snake are the same person, sometimes also known as Lord of the Tides. He’s commanding the greatest fleet in Westeros which earned him the nickname. The seat of House Velaryon is Driftmark and Corlys as head of the house rules from their so called “Driftwood Throne“.

Dameon has some intense ways of getting shit done but he isn’t the villain or the evil one, Otto is and so many people don’t realize it (except Daemon) because he’s so good at being sneaky (similar to little finger). Daemon knew the real him and that’s why Otto wanted him gone so he could manipulate Viserys without Daemon being there to stop him. Viserys should have listened to Daemon when he was warning him about Otto and the small council.

You never really know what his next move is, and you dont know whether to love or hate him because it’s not that simple. He’s for sure one of my favorite characters in this series so far, I just love how much depth and detail he has.

Aemma was going to die either way if she couldn’t push the baby out. Viserys didn’t choose for her to die, there was no scenario in which she would live.

As others have said , there are a few time jumps you should be on the look for. There was a 6 month one in episode 2. Love the characters and the actors are great! 2022-11-11 16:13:20 +0000 UTCi definitely feel like this show is on par with seasons 1-4 of GoT so far in terms of adaptation! the book that HotD is based on, Fire and Blood, is written more like a history book of the first 300 years of the targaryen dynasty starting with aegon the conqueror, so it doesn't have much dialogue. the entirety of the HotD storyline is crammed into a couple chapters of the book. there are a couple changes from the book so far, like how rhaenyra was about 8 at the start and alicent in her 20s (and they weren't friends) in the book and also a couple other things, but i really love the liberties the showrunners are taking. the book is written from the POV of maesters and court jesters, so the events that happen in the book aren't exactly how it happened, so it makes for an exciting thing to follow for both book readers and non-readers, since anything can happen!

Sooo you were right with your first thoughts about what Otto meant by sending Allicent to the kings chambers! he was totally pimping his daughter. Daemon was right about him. 2022-11-11 13:52:53 +0000 UTCAs we learned from Rob Stark, YOU CANNOT MARRY FOR LOVE AND PLAY THE GAME OF THRONES! It causes nothing but chaos. Laena was by far the smarter choice. Daemon, leader of those who wake up and choose violence, is complicated but holds a special place in my ❤️ I haven't read the books but from my understanding this one is told from unreliable narrators so the stories that are passed down through history may not convey the entire truth. So hopefully any GOT spoilers of this time period can be taken with a grain of salt.

I know you can't recall who he was talking about but after seeing episode 1 of this show when you watch that scene again it'll be a MAJOR spoiler so please for the love of god when you get to season 3 episode 4 on your rewatch try to skip that scene. It's much better for all of us if you don't know the fate of that character! Also the Jon Snow show is a sequel and it's definitely seems like it's going to happen I think it's in pre-production.

The show runners have said to think of this season as a prologue for the main story, and after this season…no more time jumps. Just be prepared for somewhat abrupt actress changes. I can’t wait to rewatch this season with you, and continue on with the next 4-5 seasons…this is gonna be fun!!
