Just thought I'd give you the ages of the characters you've met thus far. only 5 characters in the whole show ever get their ages mentioned, but the other character's ages are implied and have been confirmed by writers and showrunners: Aang is 112 (biologically 12), prince Zuko is 16- both of which are mentioned in show- Katara is 14 and Sokka is only a year older at 15!

The growth that these characters go through is wonderful and the story is phenomenal. Also: Katara is voiced by Mae Whitman (Ann (aka “her?”) in “Arrested Development”) Prince Zuko is voiced by Dante Basco (Rufio in “Hook”) Uncle Iroh is voiced by Mako (Aku in “Samurai Jack” among so many other things) Commander Zhao is voiced by Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) There’s more fun ones when you get further in, but those are the ones you’ve watched so far.

the haikyuu dub is good though! dubs in general have been getting a lot better over the years. like the voice acting is great and the translation is not too different. + my main reason for watching it dubbed is becuase of how action based that show is, it's hard to be invested in whats going on on screen if youre always lookign at the bottom of the screen.

I'm so excited you're watching ATLA! It's one of my favorite shows, if not my favorite! I don't know if you know this but Jason Isaacs who voices Zhao plays Lucius Malfoy. The voice actors in the show are phenomenal!

OMG YES!! This show is so good, and it has some very much needed heart-warming moments. Definitely picks up in season 2 and 3. Note each season has the name of an element. The avatar has to master each element in that order (water, earth, and fire). He's already an airbender so he needs to learn the rest. That's why he can't stay with Bumi for the earthbending, he has to go through water first.

love that you said big star wars energy. fun fact dave filoni was a director on the show the very first season. after that he would move on to directing and writing clone wars and being a showrunner for the mandalorian. there's definitely a bit of star wars energy in the show and he always puts some atla references in the star wars stuff he does.
