2025-01-14 14:59:13 +0000 UTC...Okay, I was NOT prepared for all of that, holy SH*T. I mean, yeah, sure, the show always presented itself as a fairly serious / dark one from the start, but GODDAMN. You'd think I'd be used to this kind of sh*t by now from all the f*cked up shows and movies I've watched, but NOPE, that last fight still hit HARD. And I'm sure it hit Vi and Powder even harder, so both reactions are totally understandable. And speaking of understandable, I also agree that Silco (did I get his name right? I'm terrible at names, so the abundnace of named characters in this show is a nightmare for me, lol) is an understandable villain. As you said: not really a "sympathetic" one, but still, you can see where he's coming from. Also, ESPCIALLY agree with you about loving when character reactions make sense, and I personally love it even more when character deaths make sense! Like, I have seen so many shows where characters shrug off completely ABSURD amounts of damage like it was nothing, and/or heal from crippling injuries far too quickly to be believable. I mean, sure, it makes for some epic fight scenes, but also kind of takes away from the realism. Not Arcane, apparently, and I like that: a show committing to its own rules and not suddendly giving characters plot armor when they would otherwise realistically be f*cked REALLY ups the stakes. Every fight scene is more intense when you know anyone COULD die, so I'm excited (and very, VERY scared) going forward! And that's even without all the amazing worldbuilding, mysteries, and an absolutely gorgeous OST and art style that I didin't even mention yet! What I'm trying to say is, this show pulled me IN. I liked it from episode 1, but wasn't expecting it to be THIS good.

2025-01-12 01:24:16 +0000 UTCI love how excited you were for powder to come in and save the day just to see that it actually ruined everything 😭 it makes it even worse seeing that they had just gotten vander free and claggor had just secured their escape route. And yes while you feel for powder because she had good intentions you definitely can’t blame Vi for reacting the way she did I hate when people get mad about what Vi said, her slap, and her walking away like what do you expect from her?? Her sister just killed everyone else in her family And yeah Silco is a very well written villain I’m so glad you’re enjoying Arcane as much as I hoped you would! Hope to get the next 3 eps soon!

Arcane is an amazing show. Not only does it have amazing art it has very good writing. It makes sense like you said. I do agree that they have amazing music, they have moden music that matches the mood of the scene very well.

When winning war means your people get to live in freedom, win is a win You never lived through being a day away from being killed by invadors, and when they got pushed away from my city, even small win is a win.
