(And thank you so much for the shoutout when you totally didn't have to. :D ) Ok, first of all, sorry for all the sex and butts I put in your face - I probably should've warned you a bit about it. I think it's a bit more intense in that way at the beginning of the show because they're trying to introduce the world and set the tone for the rest of the story. If you liked this episode then you will looove the rest of the season - the story only properly picks up later on, this is all just intro. And then in season 2, the gay begins properly as well, which makes it even more exciting. :D I, personally, would love to see you do reaction videos to this show (once you have the time to squeeze it in your schedule) because I'd be super keen to follow your experience with it. Like I said, there's no one else doing reactions for it atm (that I know of), so that would be so amazing. Also, this is one of those rare shows that's actually entirely written and directed BY women, so from that perspective it deserves our support. However, for some reason, the show is not being promoted much by Hulu (no idea why, but it's a great shame), therefore, the way the fans have had to do all the hard work for Wynonna Earp back in season 1, many of us have been trying to get our friends etc. to watch Harlots. I'm thinking if you do eventually do reaction videos for it, you might get more people interested in the show, which might increase the chances of it getting renewed or at least get the attention it deserves. Oh, just before I forget, the reason why they have sex with their clothes on is because their clothes were so difficult to put on in real life back in Georgian Era, it would take them aaaages with the corsets etc, and so they were designed to have easy access for toilet and sex, haha. And the reason why so many women did sex work in those times is because they had incredibly limited options in terms of employment if they wanted any kind of decent future without being owned by their husband. Therefore, one in five women in 1700s had been a sex worker at some point in her life. That's 20% of the entire female population, which is insane if you think about it - they were that desperate - especially since it was technically illegal back then. And this particular show, even though the drama has been hyped up for entertainment purposes, is actually based on a book called 'The Covent Garden Ladies', which from my understanding is based on historical records of actual women who worked as prostitutes at Covent Garden in London in those times. So it's kind of sort of loosely based on real-life stories. Anyway, so sorry about the long af comment, I loved your reaction and am so happy you enjoyed it!! :D

2018-09-21 22:47:29 +0000 UTCEnjoyed this. I've seen season 1, it would be fun to see you watch the rest of it.... its very much a turf war between two brothels in London. Its interesting, the show is able to bring you humor, disgust and shock, often all at the same time.
