QUEENDOM Season 1 Episode 1 Reaction!

I feel your pain. AOA was one of the first gg’s that really got me into kpop (along with Sistar). And it still makes me so sad how everything has played out! Like you I feel like I should have known something sooner (at least at the time when Choa left-I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she’s started performing in ear again since the scandal broke) but like most fans I guess I just turned a blind eye.

I watched this shortly after it aired, and I was already a massive Elvis. I remember feeling so hopeful, like this was a shot in the arm the group needed after so much hardship and it felt so good, like they were going to enter a second era. Obviously knowing what we know now about Jimin, it feels very different. I am still looking forward to your reactions of course, but I just crawl out of my skin a bit every time I see Jimin, and I just hear Minah's allegations ringing through my brain.

I know right they did awesome for just having a concert the days before the show. Poor Wheein looked exhausted when they zoomed in on each of them individually at the end of the performance.

As former BIG AoA fan, i can probably relate to whatever feeling you had about them on the show, particularly towards Jimin(original AoA bias). However I am ready to start dropping the Lovelyz content in the discord whenever you're ready to start getting to know them.

Lets be honest, Jimin is NOT a great person. But when it comes to this show or in general she isnt just simply mean to people outside of FNC cause that wouldnt last very long. In this particular show the MC was actually the instigator many times and Jimin actually cools it off many times. Ive seen her interact with groups like Twice after award shows and they seem to get along very well, the issue was inside FNC itself that are an absolute trash company and let her get away with all of the BS while keeping the other girls on a very short leash with theyr known slave contracts. The literally forbade the members from posting absolutly anything on social media and stayed absolutly unreachable for months on end and are just now starting to post again. Its known (If your a AOA fan of course) that Chanmi wanted to leave the company a few years back and her mom said that if she were to leave she would have to pay her weight in gold to the company. Its also a very well known FACT that Hyejeong and Mina are actually best friends and have been for many years. There was clearly some kind of backstory between Jimin and Mina that we dont know and probably never will and it doesnt matter cause is doesnt justify what Jimin did that was absolutly awfull and i will personaly never forgive her as i feel bad as a "Elvis" that i couldnt figure out sooner. What im trying to say is... I wish people wouldnt judge a whole group because of a bad apple. They are actually very talented and cool girls with funny personalities that no one would get to know if they opened theyr mouths to say anything at all, including Mina. Companys in Korea can make you and they can break you before you even debut. Im sorry to everyone reading this about my rant but you cant imagine the pain i felt because of this because AOA is my ultimate fav group not just in KPOP but in the entire music industry, ive been a "Elvis" from day one and will always be one, its just really hurtfull that people look down on every member because one made a really bad series of mistakes and trust me when i say this... no one is more upset and disapointed at Jimin as i am.

Can't believe some people still criticize Mamamoo's 1st round performance when it was 1. Legitimately good and 2. They did it after two straight days of a 4+ hour concert?? Like hello?? The fact that they did as well as they did despite this goes ignored by too many people. Their stamina and work ethic is insane

The audience votes were divided into an equal amount of people for each group.. The "Mamamoo got lots of votes because of their popularity" arguement is just plain wrong

I don’t care what anyone says, Mamamoo did amazing for some seriously exhausted and hardworking people. They took what little time and energy they had and still managed to give a more than respectable performance that had all the others in awe. Also, yes Lachie, you heard a bit of Decalcomanie in their Killing Voice medley where they were just going in on those vocals. It really is a great song and a crowd pleaser.

Well i had my answer. So happy You're doing the whole show ! I'm gonna enjoy the hell of all of this. Of course the AOA scene may be more difficult to genuinly react to ... and that's a pity because they had some very great moment. But yeah... now nothing is the same. We may just need to keep in mind that a lot of people (and members) apart of jimin have probably work their ass off to present us those stages ... so those one may deserve that we give proper respect to their work anyway ! I will really never hold it to you if you happen to enjoy watching their performances !

Mamamoo were great, but they got lots of votes just because of their popularity as well. Idle got weirdly ranked at times (like for their 2nd performance). OMG and Lovelyz were probably my favorite (particularly the Destiny stage for OMG). AOA had a few stellar moments, but yeah, it feels different now

The songs they will perform at the last episode is a song by them or the company. Not all of them were promoted after Queendom. I can only recall (G)I-dle promoting the final song and also a little by Mamamoo and AOA. I know it's difficult about what happened around AOA, but that shouldn't be brought up during Queendom. It should only be about the performances. That being said I really liked Queendom and have seen it several times and every time I get teared up. About the performances. Mamamoo and Park Bom were ok, not great but ok to good. Especially when you will see what Idle will do. But I can assure you that the 2nd round performances will be better and absolutely fabulous.

Diving into this after lunch! - I actually dove into this originally because of OMG-Nonstop this year. Already an Idle fan, but didn't really know much of the others. This was such a fun series. Totally ready for a new season of Queendom with some new groups too.

Oh boy. This might be the best MNet idol show ever. OMG and Lovelyz were the discoveries for me from this show. Despite some usual reality show editing, it's mostly wholesome fun and everyone gets their moment to say 'We're idols for a reason people'. It's ok to be a bit weird about AOA.
