It’s one of my all-time favorite series (along with True Blood and Buffy), and your the only one I know of who’s reacting to it. It was too much for some people I know to handle, but I feel like the show gets even better and crazier as it goes on. It’s a real head trip and so creative. You can’t possibly predict what will happen next but it’s a hell of ride and it’s fun watching someone else experience it for the first time. I might even consider sponsoring further episodes if no one else does soon.

2020-01-18 16:35:38 +0000 UTCThat flashback to Julia's real memory honestly is much more painful and tear-inducing when you know what's happening, after the shock of the scene is gone from a first-time watch. The use of Julia's rape giving her supernatural "power" is a trope that I am tired of seeing. It is written well in terms of lore, don't get me wrong--but that trope is always hard to stomach and ends up feeling distasteful. I've yet to see beyond the first season so I honestly have no idea how much better it gets handled in future episodes but I definitely plan on continuing to watch now that I feel less personally triggered by Julia's rape scene than I did when the season first aired. Obviously hoping to see you doing more reactions to the show in the future!
