2022-09-05 18:17:10 +0000 UTCwhen i first watched this show and i watched jack’s storyline happen i thought to myself there has to be someone lgbt+ working on this show because of how well done and realistic it felt (like you know when you can just tell someone lgbt+ was involved in creating a gay piece of media) so i looked up it and found out kevin williamson (the creator) is gay. also something i found out that interested me if you didn’t know part of the reason joey is named joey is a because of kevin being gay. he said: “at the time, i was writing a love story between dawson and joey, a boy and a girl, but i did give them two boys’ names just so i could have a private little wink and no one would ever know. i grew up in a small town in the closet and that was my closeted way of naming characters.”

Twin brother and sister, both get together with a main character, one of them is gay/bi, a main character gets in trouble defending them, the slur on the locker. l think we actually used to joke about it in fan boards back then.

2022-09-04 03:33:12 +0000 UTCNot sure if you know this or not but the creator of Dawsons Creek (Kevin Williamson) is gay so Jacks story was written/created by someone who related to him, another writer on Dawsons creek (Greg) is also gay so they took his own experiences and showcased it through jacks character.

2022-09-03 04:17:09 +0000 UTCAaah so glad you finally got here! This episode was so powerful and that coming out scene gets me every time it's so impactful. Jack is one of my favorite characters throughout the show so excited for you to see more of him. Also Pacey continues to prove in these two episode why he is the best like he's so ahead of his time and is just such an understanding person. Can't wait until you eventually get to s3, it's the best one.
