The life of male lions is often precarious, wrought with dangerous hunts and territorial disputes with younger, nomadic rivals; though he'll eventually succumb, his defeat grants the next generation an opportunity to contribute to their collective legacy. Their individual stories, though unique, sometimes mythic, are all bound to the same perpetual cycle, subtly expressed by the Japanese characters for "turbulence".
