Sugar The Flighted Budgie - Chapter 1

Sugar is my latest project bird. A flighted budgie whose owners could not find time for him/her anymore. So I took on Sugar to show how to work successfully with flighted, untame budgies since my current Budgie Course only covered clipped budgies. For the first time ever, I've combined my project bird content as course content and am allowing the Bondi tier and above to have access to it.

My new 4 year old lovebird also responds great to millet spray, even while having Blueberry's seed mix available in her chop. She's flighted too and getting the hang of target training.

I’ve had my new budgie for 2 weeks now and tried to tame him with targeting. He does target but doesn’t move around the cage. So I did the exact things you did in the video and I was able to take him out of the cage the same way. Problem is, I have a ceiling fan. So he’ll land there and it’s hard for me to get him down. Even when he flew down to the top of his cage, when I offered my finger so I could put him in the cage, he flew away. Loosing my hope honestly.

I have a flighted budgie, but I've had to give up. I got him about 5 years ago, didn't know any better, and have feed him a seed diet and confined to his cage. I tried to get him to respond to me- no luck. I didn't feed him for 4 days, and he still wouldn't come to me for food. He quit his happy noises, and sits in the corner of his cage- it broke my heart, so I caved. Poor little guy...

Capri: How long have you had him in here? Jamie: Since 1:30 ish in the afternoon. Capri: WHAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TEXT ME??!! LMFAO! My favorite part.

This was amazing progress! And funny thin was I noticed the door opened at the beginning of your film and I said to my self oh no hes going to go straight for that room! Hahaha

This is so great! Reminds me a lot of my first week with my baby lovebird. Minus the super cool tree stand! I'm so glad I had already watched a ton of your videos and knew the value of treats. It makes training a lot easier. Though I'm pretty sure my lovebird could be completely full and still find room for a nibble on a spray of millet.
