It is funny because in most cases individuals gets to maturity in slightly different ages, it makes a whole lot of sense that some birds mature in younger ages, or later than others πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I have a 9-month-old Timneh African Grey and my husband and I have already seen hormonal behavior. One of the causes was a particular perch and it's location. We had to immediatley remove it and just continue to enforce when this behavior happens note what is causing the behavior and adjust it or avoid it. But, yes ours is not even a year old and has times of being hormonal.

Yep, we saw it with Cressi super early on and most people didn't believe it because of her age but we knew what we were seeing so trust your gut on that!

Tusa flew to me in Florida a few years ago when I was at Ashlyn’s masterclass! We were working with my clipped green wing baby at the time. ❀️

The bird in question is barely a year old. When I brought up hormones with the vet, she dismissed the idea, so I was curious on your take. She’s been aggressively seeking out nesting areas and defending them, etc. The info about Cressi makes me feel a lot better, thanks!
