Spending the Day with Zip

Doing normal, every day tasks with your bird helps desensitize them to things they will likely encounter often. I also find social eating helps birds try new foods, too. Zip did way better than I expected, what did you think? What are some daily tasks you include your bird in?

My Goffin's has to be involved in EVERYTHING. She particularly is interested in screens - my phone, my laptop, my tablet.

Haven’t been able to get them used to the Swiffer duster… they still think it’s some demented, misshapen yellow demon that’s out to get them, even after 5 years…

2023-10-24 16:15:35 +0000 UTCYou mentioned that you weren't making any adjustments while chopping. Zip didn't seem bothered by the sound of the chopping. She definitely showed a lot of curiosity. In school, a student who is curious, is likely to learn as a result of that curiosity. I believe this was true for Zip. Zip was not fearful about approaching the bowl to try nibbles of the carrots and the celery. I also noticed that when you walked away a couple of times, she didn't become anxious. She was engaged in her exploration. (I realize that it was a short time that you were away.) Totally unrelated, I love your sweater. 😊
