I know it's been a minute and I have ALL. THE. UPDATES. for you guys!
This is so amazing! I love that you are making the recipes smaller, I have currently been halving or thirding the recipes due to how big they are. And I made myself a chop guide (using the ingredient from your SFS so that I can make it different every time!

Aw fun! What's your lovebird's name? I am not sure I document the introductions well but will try to be better about it in the future!

Yeah, we have really struggled with that concept! Having something that binds but doesn't go bad is hard when you're keeping it healthy but we will keep thinking on it.

Just a thought here. Maybe you should add a disclaimer on the perfect portion: simply point out that there are some (very rare) cases of birds that don't have the upper limit.
I have this "problem" with my CAG and seasonal feeding. After I finally managed to convert him to seasonal feeding in the morning and pellets in the evening, he would always eat all seasonal feeding that was in the bowl and I kept enlarging his portions, looking for the quantity where there would be some leftovers. I never got to it, but I noticed his weight was getting bigger and bigger. He got to 580g when I decided to start giving him less seasonal feeding. Eventually, after some trial and error, I settled on 50g of seasonal feeding, which keeps him at 530-540g. His training motivation is OK and he can fly OK. Interestingly enough, I've never had this problem with his pellets... 🤔

A healthy shelf stable nutraberry substitute might be a new product idea for you guys. 😀

Gotcha, the only stuff that would last that long would be the freeze dried dry and pellets 💚

You could definitely use our freeze dried! 🩷

Yes, I would like some suggestions for dry mixes. Just pellets seem so boring to my birds. I would like to see some kind of mix.

I've made them but they are too perishable for what I had in mind. I'd like something I can hide deep inside a toy that might take a week to destroy enough to get it. I'm currently using nuts for this but I'd prefer to reserve them for training (and bribery 😂).

Have you tried using the BT bites or crumbles for this???

I would like to see suggestions or recipes for dry, less perishable foraging treat to hide in the cage. In know we can hide pellets, but something higher value would be good. Something like a nutraberry but healthy. Currently using bits of lower value nuts. It would be great if there was something lower fat I could use.

Someone above actually suggested doing a sort of glossary with different names for international users so we are going to look into creating that! Thanks for the feedback and actually my editor is Angelina, she is the mom from CG Teen YouTube channel. We did a collaboration with them a while back and she started making the birds talk early on and it was soooo funny it makes me laugh! So we have kept it for everything because it makes watching so much easier.

I can only imagine how daunting some of the re-doing of this is! 😅 But it all looks and sounds amazing so far. (Plus I just have to say I love the comedy you guys add to the videos with the little side comments. I imagine it's Dave who adds them in? But makes me belly laugh every time 🤣). The only thing I had trouble with is having to substitute certain things because I couldn't find them near me like some of the grains/seeds or some veg is called differently here in the UK so I spent a fair bit of time baffled and learning new names for some veg 🤣 but that may have just been my experience being in the UK. But I managed to find or substitute most things close enough! I am using the digital version of course as I cannot currently do the extra shipping costs. I definitely love all the info that you guys add on vitamin deficiencies and risks of poor diet on health and would love to see more of that too! Thank you always for all that you guys do! Can't wait to see it all finished 💜🦜

This may seem super-basic, but I had been making scrambled eggs wrong. It wasn't until I heard Kim say something during a Live Chat that I realized it and asked a follow-up question (thank you Kim!). I think going over the kind of pan you use, saying you don't use any kind of oil, using low heat, etc., is worth a mention. The basics are not always obvious and are wroth going over--especially when there will probably be some people who haven't had a bird before and this will be new information to them. Also, I know I would appreciate having this amazing resource in one book. Thank you so much to everyone invloved in the cookbook redo!

Ashlyn you are so talented the bags really turned out beautiful. I had the same thought as Tony if you could explain the perfect portion like Ashlyn does in her video. It's a common question in Facebook. Can't wait to see the finished project, I'm sure it will be incredible.

YES! We are changing that! I literally went through that during shooting, I was like... couscous is a pasta... how did we never catch this..

I would love to see some of the recipes done for tiny birds like budgies and lovebirds. I love that I won’t have to go digging on Amazon anymore for berry’s seed mix. Are we going to include the cocktail seed mix in the cookbook as well?

Oh! Also! Alternate names! We should help you compile a list of international names for the items. That would be so helpful to international customers!

This would probably be difficult because you guys have an awesome studio for photos but it would be cool to include Patron’s flocks making/eating some of the recipes.

Was just thinking about diet eduction based on the questions we get in the Q&A group. Two big things come to mind.
1) Target weight - emphasis on working with your vet to determine a healthy target weight.
2) A good write up on when and how much to feed (perfect portion) that really dives into how important it is not to free feed for behavior.
Those two topics come up all the time, so strike me as needing more coverage.
Also a great opportunity to encourage people to see meal times as opportunities to give their birds a chance to forage, not just to eat.
And like I said in the live the other day, the design work Ashlyn is doing is amazing! I particularly like the bags for the seed mix.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to help make suggestions on the cookbook. There is one I can think of. I can't remember which season it is but one of the recipes calls for couscous and it's under the "grains" section but couscous isn't a grain. It's actually a noodle.
