Instead, by doing what he did, he's actually angered/disappointed free, his idol. It even shows with how everyone was counting down for Joshua vs Silas, and free is just sitting there staring angrily/disappointed as the battle starts

Now we now - free-spinning elements or defensive techniques (BTW, Slow-mo Burst working IRL really good). And remember what I spoiled about Silas a bit at the start of Evo (gd), here is his growth. The only thing he was caring about was to beat Free, but now he is fighting for the team.
