In the military there are 3 identification statuses for soldiers. WIA (wounded in action), MIA (Missing in action), and KIA (Killed in action. When an operative is MIA for a substantial amount of time it is safe to assume either two things......desertion .......or death from various factors.

I don't think that will happened. The only way I could see a bad end is if it's a alternative timeline like what that happened during Five minutes summer where Aya and Chihaya did drown during a photoshoot for a certain sport magazine

As impressive as it is that she’s talking down here, she should also know better. As if her dive to the Simmons didn’t go badly enough, Saki (and any would-be rescuer) are at five times the depth and probably much deeper into the ship (based on the size of the wreck and the previous page). Sometimes it seems that the Shrine Maiden is TRYING to drown, though with her “blackout” training back on the panels of 119 and 120, even with her implied gasp, she likely has a few minutes left in the tank, enough to get her out into open water at least.
