So much pressure! School problems are just the tip of the iceberg. Relationship pressures (marrying well etc.) and finances/contributing to family pride and riches are among the reasons why young ones off themselves. SK is constantly in the top 1/2 in the world for suicide rate among young people. There is also zero tolerance for blatant homosexuality (though BL genre is very popular in SK and JP, but never blatant as in coming out and/or building a family together). They've restricted gun ownership so that it's nearly impossible for regular people to own guns, specifically to try to curb the suicide rate.

2022-02-22 19:57:40 +0000 UTCOk I'll admit that sometimes the looks can be cringe, BUT🤚I just have to point out that their older music had really intelligent messages if u understand the pressure on youth in Korean society. N.O. is about rebelling against the academic and competitive pressures that Korean teens face from their parents and society. From what I've read this pressure often leads to depression and suicide in young people. This song was really important for that reason. Just wanted to point that out cause their messages were always pretty deep and thats what impresses me about their early career 💜
