In Vin Diesel's copy of the script, all Groot's dialog is actually written out, and then Vin makes up an "I am Groot." to fit the line. The last "I am Groot" that Groot says to Rocket was him saying, "Dad…?" When the directors said that in an interview, it just kicked my ass.

Thanos doesn't have biological children. Quote from the MCU Wiki page: "Thanos adopted six known children, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, the Zehoberei Gamora, and the Luphomoid Nebula, and trained them in the ways of combat, turning each of them into a deadly warrior." I don't think "adopted" is quite the right word, as we know he murdered Gamora's family and took her, so it's safe to assume he did the same to at least some of the other children, if not all of them. We know the horrific abuse he heaped on Nebula in the name of "training," ripping her apart physically and re-building her with cybernetics. Anyway, I'm just catching up with the MCU posts now that I'm caught up with your GoT posts, so I'm a little late to the comments here, but I wanted to add that in case no one else mentioned it. (I haven't scrolled through the 150+ comments, LOL.)

Amazing to see the MCU movies have just as much of an effect on viewers who are just now getting into it as it does on the fans who have watched and grown up with Iron Man since his movie released back in 2008. Marvel hires some great writers.

Haha, we all felt the same way leaving the theater. Never left a movie and the crowd was so dead quiet before. What do you mean is Thanos dead, you just saw him at the end of the movie. Who said the glove was gone? Now just imagine having to wait a full year to see End Game.

Great movie, best reaction. I remember leaving the theatre for this on opening day. It was the first time i left a marvel movie where everyone was dead silent with there heads down. It kinda felt like leaving a sport stadium where your undefeated team just got mascaraed in a finals game

I believe he's watching the movies in the order they were released and at this time Captain Marvel hadnt come out yet, that end credit was mainly for the Marvel comic fans as much as their end credits are, like Thanos appearing at the end of the first and 2nd Avengers, or Thor's hammer after Iron Man 2.

OK I just finished and holy hell man. Yeah this movie is crazy. Thanos is honestly probably my favorite villain. Cause yeah his plan makes sense. He saw his home get destroyed from overpopulation, and he's probably pissed that no one listened to him when he had a plan to randomly kill half the population. He probably thought "If they had just listened to me, my plan would've worked, I could have saved them." Then he becomes a warlord and goes around doing it himself to planets everywhere. Whats worse is he apparently saved Gamoras homeworld with his method, so that proves to him that his idea works. Thus starts his grand plan to "Save the Universe". So at the end, Thanos didn't lose the Gauntlet, and he didn't die. The Orange world he went to where he saw Gamora was actually inside the Soul Stone. The Soul Stone has a small, mini universe in it called Soulworld. It's where all souls used by it are stored. Gamora was sacrificed for the Soul Stone so she was in there. The Gauntlet is still on his hand when he rests. He's just chilling on a planet, looking out on a "Grateful Universe" his job is done. But see, that moment is why I love Thanos. He said it cost him everything to complete his mission. It did. He lost his armies, his Children with those aliens, and he lost the one person he truly loved. He gave these things up because he truly believes in his mission. He wasn't doing it for power. He really thought he was saving the Universe. The bad part is like you said, Leo. He took it upon himself, like he's a God. He's got a literal God Complex. He doesn't just believe, but he thinks its his destiny to do this. That is much scarier because there's nothing you won't do if you think you're meant to do something. Another cool but weird thing is that he is the protagonist of this movie. He's the main character. We follow him while he goes on a journey, learning more about him along the way. He actually has the most screen time in the whole movie, more than any other character. One huge thing you missed is when Thanos and Gamora were on Vormir. Did that red guy who guided them look familiar? That was none other than The Red Skull from Captain America 1. Remember how we thought he died from the Tesseract? He held it and it looked like he was disintegrated into space? Well now we know the Space Stone teleports people and that's what happened to him. He was teleported out of Earth to Vormir, and he's been there ever since World War 2. Yeah that symbol at the end is a character you'll meet soon. Can't wait for Ant Man and The Wasp!
