2022-12-27 09:39:08 +0000 UTCYeah as mentioned before, the Angel was played by Frankie Avalon who I believe was one of the original Mousketeers of the Mickey Mouse Club back in the black and white tv days. He starred in quite a few teen movies during his day, and the girl who played Frenchie supposedly had always had a major crush on Frankie and so when they filmed the scene, she had no idea that he would be playing the Angel, so the expression you see on her face throughout that whole scene is genuine. :)

It was awhile before Leo found a safe way to show the unblurred/unmuffled show that didn't require syncing. If they're no longer posted on Patreon, I recall Leo saying that at one point, the site deleted some of his earlier videos because of space? I'm not sure what that was all about, but if they're not there, it's something to do with that.

2022-12-23 01:55:58 +0000 UTCNow that I've watched the whole thing, and you saw the flying car, I have to share a macabre fan theory that I always liked, tbh. Remember in one of the early songs when Danny and Sandi were singing about their beach meeting and he said, "she nearly drowned" and that he saved her life? The fan theory (which I believe has been vehemently denied, lol) is that Sandi (or Danny in an alternate theory) DID actually drown at the beach and was in a coma. That the entire movie was what was playing inside their head in the coma and wasn't real, and that when they took off in the flying car at the end, it was Sandi (or Danny) actually dying and their brain letting go. I don't know why, but I really love that haunting idea. It makes for a very different ending, but I'm not always one for the happily-ever-after anyway. :p People will tell you not to watch Grease 2. Grease 2 is mega-cheesy. It really, really is. But if you go into it without much expectation and just want to have fun and bop to music, don't even think of it as a sequel and just enjoy it for what it is, if you want.

Leo, babe, I’ve been following you for like two years by now, and I was initially not totally excited when I saw your post as I’ve seen Grease maybe seriously 200 times since I was 4 years old, a classic, I know all the songs by heart, etc. Leo, this was maybe my favorite reaction of yours EVER. I laughed soooo much, I was crying laughing at you your reactions and how much you were into it and enjoying it, I heard all the music for the first time through you, what an absolute joy 🤩 ❤️ I was painfully aware of how utterly WHITE the movie is, no POC at all, a different sad era. I’m so glad you found the beauty in it. It is a masterpiece in its category. Thank you as always 🙏 PS the golden magical voice of Olivia Newton John the random wonder from Australia was lost to us when she sadly died in August of this year. PPS John Travolta was an absolute firecracker during this period, triple threat mad talent dancer, actor, singer, incredible to behold. Watch Saturday Night Fever next, it’s kind of a downer, much more serious than Grease but a solid performance showing acting chops from Travolta, sensational music from th Bee Gees (some tracks you’ve reacted to) and incredible disco dance sequences, at the height of Travolta’s talent and charisma.

A childhood favorite of mine, and I try today to watch it without the cynical eyes of a 21st century existence, LOL. No matter what else, the music is FUN and the movie is FUN and the characters are FUN. Brings back so many good memories. I had a pet parakeet when I was about 8 years old that I named Danny Zuko, I confess. Now that you have seen the 1950s high school represented (though, of course, the movie was filmed in the 1970s), you must travel to the actual 1970s and check out ROCK 'N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL! Featuring my favorite punk rock band of all time, THE RAMONES! Please please please please please please, infinity.

I used to cheer in elementary and middle school - one year we even won a state divisional team cheer (this was like back in 1986 when I was 9 years old lol). I wasn't very athletic in high school yet I lettered in football 3 years....I was a football manager (basically a water girl but we'd also help hold/move the chains sometimes or switch out footballs between plays, retrieve tees, etc...). loved being on the sidelines since i love football but also because, well, I was a teenage girl hanging out wth dudes all the time. Oh memories....
