February Preview I: Ruins, Scaffolding, Street Lights, Street Signs

January 2022 Release

January 2022  Public Preview

Edit 1/26/22

Have some images of signs and lanterns add. Have baseless versions of signs. Will be working on the chitubox supports so those are in place. Several of the lanterns have flame that can be painted then inserted in the case or the other way around. SIgns are in three styles, urban, rustic, and cartoon.

EDIT:1/22/22

Added 6 loose columns in each size!. Also made the alternate 3 groups a little easier to move through. It seems like someone will want to go the other way, so I also added a version with a palisade wall. you can see the 6inch can make a 2 tier attack wall with platforms, I have some placeholder platforms for now. This should give everyone maximum flexibility for all environments. Also made a 45 degree platform turn that can be used with the loose pillars.

We were a bit surprised to see strong interests in scaffolding, platforms, and bridges, so we took a hard look at what was out there and took a guess at what folks were looking for. We still have a ton to do but this is basically the most difficult component fully test printed. After this point it is really down hill. This is really a tiered and ramped scaffolding road. featuring heights of 2/4/6 inches. It is over 2 inches wide. The scaffolding path will be 32mm wide. There will be platforms of various shapes and sizes as well. There will be platforms to slip into lower levels of multi-tiered scaffolding. There will be more variations of ground and planking. There will be some railings you can glue on. Still deciding on how to model the smaller walkway, the one you see is really a placeholder while we work on supports.  In addition to providing simple platform solutions, this will also offer a solution for transporting folks across rubble fields as well as over strip mines and dark abysses.

Ruins continued, hopefully there is time to dig in more on the resin since they are printed by mid-month. We have ourselves another house and a tower.  Not showing yet, I've started working on fountains, road signs, and lamppost to add some scatter volume. No promises on where everything lands but that is what we're looking at. Over all this will be a month for using a little bit of whatever glue you like. I'm ditching the pegs stacking on the ruins as it seems useless. The scaffolding requires a tiny bit of glue on the horizontal cross beams that are attached to either the scaffolding or the bottom of the planks. Again, decided that precise nodes for alignment would be a hinderance. It seems like the house needs some kind of rubble barricade out front.

Deadline for painting competition in a one month!

That's fantastic, thank you. This will be next on my print list 100%! :)

Hey Ryan, should go up support free, Spent the first half of the month making sure of it. Now the real tall single pole scaffolding could be an issue if you have a lot of shaking going on, I'm actually testing that today. but otherwise should be 100% support free.

The scaffholding looks awesome and JUST what I was looking for to expand my games. Do you know if it will need supports when printing and if so any recomendations for settings? I always struggle to get supports off even at 0 infill. I'm new to printing, using an Ender 3 pro. Thank you mate.

Fantastic. I love the idea of stilt cities.

Hi Brad, thanks for the comment, Yes but probably next month. I have some cobble stone road stuff to flush out as well. I want to do some barracks/toll type modular housing to combine on the larger platforms and some draw bridges, so they can be more than just the one thing. Large regular platforms will be part of that. I'm guessing 4/6/8 inch platforms and probably also those heights, I'm also looking at being able to drop a housing unit under the deck that can sit mid-frame.

Do you have any plans to do any larger platform areas? Like a 6x6 for example so we could have larger playable raised areas.

Brad Thornton

I like these Bridges they look well kept and useable for a mine or a pier

SirDrakey

Could really see this as working well in large underground mines as well. It’s just begging for a murky black pool of water that could have any kind of god-forsaken thing in it.

Robb

The new ruins look great loving the height. The deck will make great bridges and paths through tough terrain.

This will work really well for a a swamp or marsh as well. I think this will lead to great things.

GameNight

Wow! Didn't see that coming. The scaffolding is amazing.

Ron

Thanks Tyler, I've been excited to share it! I'll be sure to release scaffolding with loose pillars and less stones so it is easier, there should be room for sure but it could be a chore to get it through. Thanks for the note of concern:)

Great guess!

This look exciting! Also excited about more ruined houses. One thing I see as a possible concern is the space between the supports on the ground. Is it large enough to get a 28mm model through? Dont want the scaffolding to block pieces or divide the map. I’d likely end up printing several supports with nothing attach anyways - then I can use variable lengths of scaffolding (some printed some coffee sticks) based off the map for that game. Good work!

Awesome!
