Hey everyone,

Thanks for all your feedback on the draft of this one. I was able to incorporate much of it, and it certainly made it better, so I appreciate the thought that so many of you put into responses.

The most notable changes for the final version come in the form of motivation, both in motivating the problem, and also doing the best I can to tee up some of the strange-seeming steps involved in solving it. There's also some new commentary at the end for why we should care, new silly-but-hopefully-metaphorically-apt pi creature artworks, and general polishing and tweaks to the visuals throughout.

Watching this one and thinking back to the quaternions and rotation videos, it make me wonder, can the roots of unity help in some way to visualize multidimensional functions in a 2d space? It might be completely made up and completely wrong, but I am wondering if there is a way of using the 5 zeta of this video to plot in some way a 5D funcion (of course "cutting" part of it) and so on. This could be very useful for visualizing complex stuff!

Have you seen Norman Wildberger's derivation of complex numbers without assuming real numbers (continuity)? https://youtu.be/XoTeTHSQSMU
