Shanoa Elayne

I've never played Order of Ecclesia, but I know that the Western localization gives Shanoa the reference to Castlevania 2 that I make with Elayne -- word for word, pretty much, haha! While I'm not too familiar with the later Castlevanias, I've always thought that Shanoa had a pretty cool design and I loved her use of colour.

Earlier today, I received a Twitter message asking if I'd have ever thought to make Elayne cosplay Shanoa. I haven't. So then I drew it, because why not? I've been doing a lot of black & white art for the Beaumont comic, so I took a break to play with some colour.

I ditched the watercolours so I could use richer, darker colours -- most of it is in shadow, with the only light coming from the moon, so there's a sharp white highlight along Elayne's edge. That was fun. There's a little bit of red bounce from the sword, but it's pretty minimal -- though I think I could've played with bounce lighting a bit more than that.

I definitely rushed this, so I could probably have made it better -- but I don't quite have the time to spare, so that's okay. I accomplished what I set out to do.

Elayne looks good with colour.
