I recently (3 weeks ago) rescued a Gray Rat Snake. She was owned by someone as a baby and suffered a burn that left a scar on her side (about 2 inches long by 3/4 high). And some mouth rot that caused a lip droop that is reminiscent of a stroke victim. She had several layers of stuck shed and the owners said that she bites, wasn't eating and had escaped twice. She rehabbed flawlessly. Most of the stuck shed she was able to get off on her own, has not missed a meal from me yet, and apart from a single musking with the worst odor I've ever experienced from a snake (like burning plastic and human poop) zero handling issues. She is truly a remarkable animal.
