Early Access Video - Zoologist Reacts to Who Would Win? Ultimate Insect Rumble

Hi Patrons, Jason here!

1.   Thank you so much for supporting Clint's Reptiles. You guys are amazing.

2.   As you have early access to these videos, please let us know if you catch any mistakes or export issues. They are bound to happen, and I would love to catch them before they get published for the unforgiving world to spot. You are our first line of defense!

3.   Sometimes we need to schedule the release of a video. When that happens, YouTube forces us to change the video status Unlisted to Private. Unfortunately, that cuts off your access. We try to delay this until Friday night (Mountain time zone), so be sure to utilize your early access before then.

4.   I try to get these Early Access Videos uploaded as early as Monday every week. Trying to maximize the early in Early Access Videos :). That doesn't always happen, but that is my goal.

5.   Comments in Patreon = I will see. Comments in YouTube = Clint will very likely see (and sometimes me too).

6.   You guys rock!

I’m new to your Patreon. I’m from Ma/Nh , and I want you to know I am removing my Patreon money from Russel Carlson to you. . .. (cuz I’m poor and I think you get more affect/effect) and as an adult I have never referred to all ‘creepy crawlers’ as “bugs”. I’ve always said spiders are spider. Worms are worms. And so on. It’s just a matter of education and caring. Colloquial term “bug”should not really be a thing except amongst adolescent children (generally speaking). …Well bugs as an adult means STD. Maybe you could do a lil something on that ??? Child friendly but hilarious as hell.? .. 😏

Marlaina Burke

I've never heard all bugs are insects and not all insects are bugs. Instead it's the opposite. Millipede, spiders, etc. Are all included as bugs.

I mostly grew up out east. Bug was generic for insect and spider collectively. The same way coke was generic for any type of soda beverage. "What kind of coke do you want?" Orange and Root Beer and Cream Soda included. And "No we don't have Coke a Cola here, but we do have Pepsi Coke." Not confusing at all :)

Katie Meyer

Great video! In my experience, people who use "bugs" colloquially definitely include spiders. Maybe not _all_ invertebrates, but a lot of them: all terrestrial arthropods, but also earthworms and often snails and slugs. Particularly taken as a group term. If you had a bucket of earthworms they probably wouldn't say "oh look, bugs!", but if there were (say) spiders, woodlice and millipedes mixed in there too, they might.

David Matthewman

I wanna play devil's advocate here. How would someone call all invertebrates, colloquially? I think it would be "bugs"! Most people don't follow you on YouTube (which is a shame tbh) so they call all invertebrates "bugs" and I don't think it's shocking. I love your videos but sometimes I think it feels a bit condescending for new viewers.

This episode is a great candidate for Toxicognaths: The Drinking Game 🥃

Aurora Exotics

This is definitely one of my favorite video series that this channel does. The way that you emphasize the word fact reminds me a lot of Lindsay Nikole. That could be a pretty fun collab

The production of this video was amazing! Every time Clint is giving us accurate facts, there was an image or video to match, sometimes an arrow to point out details. Ridiculous book, but in your hands it was an hour of fun learning. (And potentially more with the extras! I will have to watch them tomorrow.) Thank you for the excellent work.

hazaa!!

Finals: I think another centipede should've attacked the hornet while it's busy with the praying mantis. If a passing bird can get involved, why not a passing centipede that knows what to do with its toxicognaths? (P.S. You should contact them and offer to write zoologically accurate versions of these!)

Naomi Rivkis

I consider bugs to be any critters that bug me. Maybe this Jerry is one.

Yes! Another who would win book, these are some of my favorite videos. Although I feel bad for Clint to die inside for this content. A who would win book that you wrote would be cool
