The interview at Choi Han Group headquarters was about a week away. As the date drew closer, I started to feel a bit anxious.

‘Even if it’s basically guaranteed, interviews are still nerve-wracking…’

It wasn’t officially confirmed, but the chairman had personally offered me a position. He even mentioned creating an additional spot just for me. That made me fairly confident I'd be accepted. Still, the thought of the interview made me nervous.

‘I completely messed up my first interview at the delivery company.’

The delivery job itself was demanding, but I got used to it quickly. The interview, though, was a disaster. I was so anxious I couldn’t speak properly and stumbled through the entire thing. I was crushed until I received the acceptance notice.

Since then, I hadn’t worked anywhere else or gone through another interview. Now, after all this time, that same nervous feeling was starting to creep in again.

“For now, I’ll just get some exercise.”

Yeonhee was at work, Yeonji was at school, and Ajung had gone out to buy groceries.

We had been spending quite a bit of time apart lately. During that time, I mostly focused on working out. I had gotten really into it recently, and my body was steadily improving.

Despite my objections, my Jeongyeon had bought almost an entire gym’s worth of equipment. Thanks to her, I had everything I needed at home to train properly. I still remember what she said when she brought it all in.

She filled the gym room with machines, each costing millions of won.

– 98 million won? That’s much cheaper than I expected.

Altogether, the total came close to 100 million won. Yet she seemed more surprised at how little it cost than how much she had spent. She even tried to buy more, but I had to step in and stop her.

The equipment we had at home was better than what most gyms offered. There were so many unfamiliar machines that I had to watch YouTube videos to figure out how to use them. At least five of them needed proper instruction.

Just as I was about to head to the gym to clear my mind, my Jeongyeon came into my room.

“Oh my, are you going to work out?”

“Yes, I was just about to.”

“Hmm… then, would you mind if I joined you?”

“Jeongyeon?”

“Yes. I usually don’t exercise, but I’d like to learn from you, dear.”

She wasn’t the athletic type—about the same as Yeonji—so it was a bit surprising to see her show interest in working out.

“Sure. Go ahead and change into your workout clothes, then meet me in the gym.”

“Okay, I’ll be right there.”

I actually liked the idea of working out together. I thought it would be nice to teach her, so I headed to the gym first. I waited with a sincere heart, genuinely looking forward to it. That excitement didn’t take long to turn into something else.
