As lunchtime approached, the knights were training on the parade ground.

Rize was also working hard. While she was taking a short break, Agnes approached her.

“Vice-captain??”

“Ah, Captain.”

“I heard Dayke visited you last night.”

“Yes? Yes… That’s right.”

“…Did you sleep with him?”

“…Yes.”

Rize lowered her gaze to the ground. Even if she had received permission, spending the night with her superior’s lover made her feel guilty. It was only natural that she’d draw attention for it.

“I see…”

“…I’m sorry.”

Rize immediately bowed her head when the captain fell silent. Only then did Agnes wave her hand gently.

“Oh, no. There’s no need to apologize. So, are you satisfied?”

“Yes, Captain.”

After finishing my morning routine and lunch, I entered the forest near the kingdom.

Goblin sightings weren’t frequent, but I still had to keep watch. You never knew when one might appear.

Rize was on my left, and Agnes was on my right. Both were top knights, walking beside me in silence.

Being in a group with two elves I had already slept with brought up some conflicted thoughts I couldn’t ignore.

“Agnes.”

“What is it?”

“Did you plan this lineup?”

“All teams were assigned by drawing lots. You drew yours too, remember?”

“I know. Still, it’s strange that the three of us ended up together.”

“It’s just coincidence. Focus on the patrol.”

If it were just the two of them, things might have gone differently. But since I was with them, they were clearly trying to concentrate on their duties.

Rize was scanning the surroundings seriously, clearly focused.
