A part of me believe that Talki did liked Hina at one point but it was suppressed because of their friendship. IDk, but there were some small hints throughout that kinda spells it out. But since we all know that he likes Chinatsu, we kinda looked passed all the subtle hints of his conversations with Hina; the way that he admires her, always compliments her, and at one point, i think Chinatsu thought so too. And a really good one that was resent was the fact that he noticed that her ponytail was uneven (which mean he pays really close attention to her)... I really believe that is one of the meaning behind the Blue Box title, he was so fixated on the fact that a crush is a crush (Chinatsu) and the girl that he really liked was his friend and once she became his friend, he felt that it was "unnatural" to like her. This is a very real feeling that many deal with, it's the girls can't be guys friends theory. We tend to separated love and friendship (it's a lot deeper theory to me that I really like, it's also why we say things like blood is thicker than water bs) Anyway, I think thats where this is going, and I also think the whole "coward" thing is him not understanding that he can't choose and that he dosen't want to face the fact that he also might have feelings for Hina.
