Glad I finally got to this, what a great episode. I didn't know who Finn was and now I'm following him on everything. Always knocking it out, good stuff C&D.

DB Cooper

Ironic? Predictable, more like. =)

Colin Moriarty

Another great pod cast & conversation. Anyone finding it ironic that all the gaming influencers that brought up about supporting Palestine aren't saying a single word about the shit going down in Afghanistan or doing fundraising streams for Red Cross support etc to help the people in the country?

Shaun Sannerude

Thanks for listening!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you. <3

What a great, great conversation! Thoroughly enjoyed this one, would've loved if it was longer. Loving these guest interview episodes guys keep it up! <3

That you are going to interview Filip is incredible. The audience needs to hear these stories if the subjects are willing to tell them. Solidifying the fact that you have the best content in the games industry!

Thank you. <3

Colin Moriarty

He'll be back!

Colin Moriarty

A very enjoyable episode πŸ‘πŸ» you guys keep delivering bangers every week.

Wayne Moss

Definitely need to have Finn on again.

Kevin Metzger

Thank you! I'm eager to deliver it. =)

Colin Moriarty

What a brilliant episode. I've been watching Finn for around a year now so to see you together and to get along so well was great. Fingers crossed he does come back on again. Also cannot wait for the Filip Miucin episode

I am also a metal head, more on the conservative side.

Tim Rutledge

I'm really lucky I never had to go through the 'looking for a job' thing. Which is kinda weird, but true.

Colin Moriarty

Save your money, live lean, come up with a plan, start doing something on the side, then... =)

Colin Moriarty

Thank you.<3

Colin Moriarty

The genre always struck me as conservative, dunno why.

Colin Moriarty

Incredible episode, so happy to see fireside style content again. When Colin has his curiosity engaged, he has such an energy to him, and few things bring that out of him like a fireside chat. Glad to see Dustin there too!

Andrew Clark

I am but one man, but I can confirm that I am a conservative metal head. You’re welcome πŸ€“

This episode is great! I've started a new job this year but have been feeling really discouraged by the pay for the amount of work I'm doing. I've always wanted to create something of my own, either doing freelance or starting my own agency. This episode was very insightful and really lit a fire under my ass.

I'm not done but man, I'm really appreciating the conversation, especially as someone who has been applying to video production jobs for 5 months now after graduating, and getting ghosted after every interview, and being asked for ridiculous things, I am already done with the corporate world. I'm so sick of it and I haven't even started. I just need to start any job to become independent and have money coming in so I can then start fueling a proper self-employed career.

Tristen Wilbers

I'm glad you're finding success out there on your own. Keep it up!

Colin Moriarty

Wow, great episode LSM! Finn is exceptionally well spoken, was a joy getting his perspective on content creation and the journey. The section on working for others vs working for yourself hits home for me. I have worked in the games/tech space for 6 years now myself, and the last 2 years I've been at my own startup ventures with a business partner and I wouldn't trade betting on myself and my ideas for the world after spending a long time working in traditional structures worried about stability every quarter. When you specifically mentioned working for an immediate contract rather than a long term goals under IGN, that is the case for so many I think and I experienced that hustle myself. Now, obviously a different dynamic in a lot of aspects because of answering to investors -- but it's a world of difference and where I feel most comfortable vs my old corporate path. The stress of bringing your own ideas to reality is much more welcome than the stress of killing yourself for others in a machine that doesn't care for you. There is a freedom there. Really loved this talk, Colin and friends. My only complaint -- I wish it was longer! Thanks guys, much love.

Yes. =)
