It took me quite a while to figure out a scene build that works well with this. The trick with the model is to use a background that has drastic contrast changes and/or movement, as light doesn't actually play off the model. It IS meant to be invisible, after all. The first thing I thought of was to animate a scene, but as I spent more and more time getting the look just right, I opted to use a map with an already animated background (please forgive the water glitching). This was more of a burden of proof to me that, 1, I could knock out a decent but quick animation to test the script on a model and, 2, I could get the feeling across of the model being a slime girl and not just transparent. In short, if this is well received, I'll continue with more slime girl animations.
I can definitely see potential with this little trick. It's a little frustrating to not be able to use conventional lighting to show off the model and her gelatinous curves, but part of what I love about Dark Dreams is trouble shooting and creativity. I think an easy solution would be to crank up the effect a bit more, but change the color of the original model first so that it will give a better contrast at the "turning point" of where the model changes from being visible to being transparent. Hard to explain with words, sorry if it doesn't make sense.

2019-09-28 19:06:13 +0000 UTCI think you'd be better off with either a bright background and darkish blue color, or a dark color and a brighter color. A lot gets lost with this color combo. The ghost thing you did was pretty close I think.
