Defining Duke, Episode 185 | The Game Pass Aftermath

For starters, we now have clarity on the wait for Day 1 games in the service at the standard tier and those who remain will be seemingly waiting a long time for their shiny games to arrive. Furthermore, Xbox is potentially pulling out of regions like Europe, Africa, and the Middle East when it comes to their consoles. With all these parts of the business shifting in real time, many are trying to predict where Xbox will be at the end of all these changes. Well, much of it hinges on Call Of Duty which is tying its beta to Game Pass subscribers. Indeed, it's a different Xbox we're looking at in 2024! Does this new Xbox consider Crash 5 important enough to resurrect? How cutthroat shall they be with 343 in their next Halo? There is quite a bit to discuss, so enough briefing and let's get to chatting!

It's very beautiful though, but it'd have been better as a movie IMO, you don't even get your own input in dialogue. My wife wanted to play it with me and I wanted to give it a chance but we were both done

2024-07-22 13:15:38 +0000 UTCOmg I hadn't finished listening to the take before commenting. It got worse. Halo Wars 2 was the best Halo put out? Nooooo. Absolutely not. Metacritic scores on Halo 4, 5, MCC, and infinite were higher. Audience scores are also higher on each one except maybe 5 . Also, if its the mgmt at 343 that's the problem, why the hell would you want them in the overseeing project managing role? That's the part they're fucking up (something we can largely agree on). I love you boys but these Halo takes were like those dorky turtles. Keep kicking ass and staying healthy though!!

2024-07-20 11:49:25 +0000 UTCI hate when these guys talk Halo. Halo 4, really good campaign story, not so great multi-player. Halo 5 not a great story (I was fine with it but many werent) but really great multi-player. Halo infinite pretty good story and excellent multi-player. Truly excellent. They just didn't have content rolled out appropriately. 343 needs leadership change because obviously they aren't hitting deadlines and sticking to a vision. They aren't a bad studio populated with untalented devs. These games have been good. They'll NEVER capture the magic of the first 3 because Halo literally revolutionized gaming when it came out. That won't happen again. These games are good. They aren't trash. Nothing is ever perfect.

2024-07-20 11:28:26 +0000 UTCMatty, 2012 was most definitely the biggest/most popular that TMNT had been since the 80s/early 90s. Yeah, the games sucked but IDW comics were going strong, the show was great, the toys were super popular, and the IP was EVERYWHERE. My son was all over TMNT from 2012-2016… toys, bedding, posters, bikes, birthday parties, etc. Nickelodeon and IDW gave our heroes in a half shell new life that they hadn’t seen in years. I’ve been a TMNT fan since the 80s and have seen all the ups and downs (I’m looking at you, TMNT: Next Mutation) but 2012 was definitely not an overall down, but the games were really bad. Hopefully Konami brings back the 2003 TMNT games. 😀

2024-07-18 22:18:47 +0000 UTCI'm not trying to be a jerk, but if your recruiter told you they had never seen anyone be "overqualified" then they're either a shitty recruiter or extremely inexperienced. That's a common reason to not hire an applicant for exactly the reason you said; you may leave relatively quickly. There's too much of a risk that you use the job as a springboard into something higher paying to get your foot in the industry, which is basically what you told them. That makes perfect sense. Ask Dagan, I'm sure he's been overqualified for positions in the animation industry. As a matter of fact, literally just google "common reasons to not get a job". If they gave you four interviews they obviously liked you. That doesn't seem to have anything to do with race and doesn't seem like a good argument for why DEI initiatives are needed.
