2022-11-23 06:17:07 +0000 UTCDamn, I wish I had made the cut for the comments. This album is undoubtedly their magnum opus, the perfect musical fusion at the perfect time in their history as a band. While Chad Smith and John Frusciante were with the band for Mother's Milk, but really found a perfect blend of funk, punk and a little hip hop vocally on BSSM. The jam at the end of "Sir Psycho Sexy" is perhaps one of their best riffs as a band period, Flea drives a steady and active beat while Frusciante's whimsical riffing perfectly complements the gaps. It reminds me in a sense of how Weezer's "Only In Dreams" so emotionally caps off the Blue Album. I know the last song is really a cover of "They're Red Hot" but it's so brief it feels like a "post-credits" add-in.

Truly a timeless band. Also @DustinCanFly please do a silver-painted photoshop of Dustin (Frusciante - more subdued, yet weaves his artistry in every nook and cranny), Chris (Flea - wacky, funny, other ventures outside of RHCP) Colin (Kiedis - the glue, wordsmith, drew some blood under the bridge), and of course Will Ferrell. Also... Yabba dabba, dabba dabba do now!

Just out of curiosity, as I have been re-reading the series in anticipation of Hogwarts Legacy, when can we expect the Sorcerers Stone episode?
