KnockBack, Episode 251 | The Future
Added 2022-11-28 17:00:12 +0000 UTCWait, what?! KnockBack is about the past! Well, that's typically true, but today we wanted to do something a little bit different. Why? Because beginning in 2023, KnockBack is going to change. And it begins with a month hiatus, while we retool. We wanted to explain where our heads are at with KnockBack, what the coming years hold, and deploy a new schedule that'll move the show to every-other-week beginning in January. Don't worry, though. Something new is spawning in those missing episodes' places... we're just not gonna tell you what that is just yet. And fear not: Dagan isn't going anywhere, either. You'll see him just as much as you used to. But more on that later.

I always love the spoiler casts, and the what we’re playing part of SS. I cant wait for the bigger video game knock back episodes, and I genuinely believe Dagans break downs are second to none.

Sad to see it's output being reduced, glad to hear there's a new show with Dagan coming up. Cheers

Was always hoping for a Beastie Boys episode. I followed Colin from way back Beyond. All the drama with KF. Loved Fireside Chats and Side Quests. When i heard Dagan though im like this dude is me. Same age same likes same family in the burbs silly dad jokes all of it. I listened every week to hear about his neighborhood is exactly like mine his kids just like mine. I dont play PS much anymore I have gaming PC. I still listen to Colin Chris and Dustin but Knockback is my heart. Seriously. I guess in the end that was my fault. Maybe should have donated more commented more. This blows.

Knockback is amazing, and I feel the point of the show is that it’s timeless, it doesn’t matter when you jump in. That being said, everyone go listen from the beginning over again, if you need your fill. Hundreds of hours of entertainment to hold you over for another week. I’ve listened to the Megaman 1,2, & 3 episode probably 4 times. The Street Fighter 2 conversation is my favorite, as you guys painted a picture of an old-school arcade I was a few years shy of seeing for myself. Thank you guys for the free entertainment. Thanks Colin, but love you Dagan!

They could talk about skid marks in their underwear for the first 30 minutes before beginning the topic, and I wouldn't care at all. The brotherly banter is the best part! I think less fan interaction is a negative though. Even if voting goes away, I think write-ins are part of what made the show special, even the old games with the audience were a highlight. I agree with Dagan that the banter is just part of LSM in general, and if people don’t like it they can just fast-forward. I’m hoping the teaser is for the general podcast as that’s what I think would help you guys for sure, especially if Dagan leads. I mean just picture Dagan reacting to Chris’ stories about clowns. 😄 Wish you guys the best as always and I’ll be listening regardless. ❤️ PS: B.A. vs Dustin, turkey cook off show when?

The voter topics got really annoying, and would usually just end up on giant video games that sometimes Dagan or Colin hadn't played, hence there being no literal nostalgia for them. I really hope we still get the more ephemeral topics like the early days of the internet and going to video stores etc. But I've got a feeling the new show is gonna be along those lines... keep up the good work tho. Knockback is kinda like the Jellyfish (band) of podcasts, a true gem that not too many know about. Which is nice in this instant gratification world we live in.

Over saturation and burnout and the enemies at the door so to speak, so best to use Knockback more effectively, and sparingly. Less will be more in this case, and I cannot wait for next year. Cheers!

I generally listen on audio and love the opening discussions, will still listen to these if I'm not interested in the topic. I would say I would prefer more plot or plot improvement discussion rather than character discussion. Hope that you finish Lost even if it is just one episode, please don't just do Marvel! Everything else is nice and all but to hear the brothers banter it's just different in my sea of podcast.. I get it I get it! I hope colin gets the break that he needs and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming show. P.s. I'm glad they ended this episode with a dad joke i was worried for a moment.

I really liked what you guys did with Game of Thrones, because it felt sort of more like a book club. It would be awesome to see some massive games get split up. Having the audience meet up at key plot points and discuss half the game for example. P.S. long intros rock for this show too. I love hearing from Dagan. ☺️

Some of the things you cover (Horizon Zero Dawn, a season of Lost etc) can take 20-40 hours to “consume/digest”, which, when you do a weekly show, seems unfathomable. I know that announcing this was probably somewhat scary for you guys, as I’m sure you feel like you’re cutting back in some way, but as a fan I am 100% behind this. You guys gotta protect the brain-trust of LSM!
