OH ALSO. about the exes vs situationship thing. i think a lot of people are just very attached to the exes-to-lovers trope (valid) so they're excited to apply it even if it's loosely. i think the intention there is actually made super explicit way before the flashbacks because ro straight-up asks isi "how did we never date?" LOL
