They did the whole arlong park walk scene horribly. first why tf was it night time, and bro's acting during the whole scene where luffy puts the hat on nami was hot cringe. In fact they failed to capture Luffy's true essence as a character. As I remember, one of the best things about Luffy during the Arlong arc was how carefree and confused he was about what was going on in the village, and it was only after nami cried and asked for help is when he got serious. before that, he was just chilling. And that's a part of Luffy which makes him so endearing. IDK, seeing this guy try to portray luffy as some sentimental hero just felt very off to me

2023-11-30 22:02:49 +0000 UTCEhh 6.5 is kinda low for me. I think they did miles better than the expectation. I would give it around an 8 to 8.5. Cringey at times but some moments hit very well. Garp portrayal reminds me of his role in Enies Lobby and the big reveal then. It felt like they did the Coby-Luffy meetup a little early as well. Very hard to fit the entire East Blue into 8 episodes

2023-11-30 18:10:17 +0000 UTCThey get a little bit of leeway from me simply because it’s hard to adapt a 1000+ episode series into a live action format let alone One Piece with how ridiculous it can be. My main gripe is that some of the acting moments fell flat, but I appreciated their attempt of showing more of the marines’ side (minus the weird Garp portrayal). My rating is a 7.5/10, it was enjoyable overall

I don’t know how y’all got a 6.5, If we all know we can’t add certain things and be a copy of the anime. I thought the acting at certain points was not good. However, so many good moments but yes could’ve been better. Also considering how bad people expect this adaptation to be, I’d give it a 8/10 personally.
