Waves (unreleased demo)

We have been falling a little behind, and I don't think we are going to have a safe camp song ready this month. So in it's place, here is an unreleased demo for a song we wrote while working on Violent Waves. I actually have never thought about the connection between the two titles until right now as I write this, kind of a cool coincidence.

If I remember correctly, we put this idea together as an instrumental, and all of the instruments were recorded together at the creek house live. While Anthony was writing vocals to it, we decided it would be cool to lower the key a little bit because the melodies he was working on were really high. Since all of the instruments were recorded in the same room, everything was bleeding into all of the mics, so we had no choice but to drop the pitch of the entire mix, including the drums. Because of that the whole thing has this very weird, almost broken sound that is kind of cool. Also, after hearing the heavy sound of the low C we ended up writing other songs for Violent Waves tuned down to C (Hitman and Lottery come to mind, but there may be others).
