Avengers: Age of Ultron

Comments

14:45 PUUUUURRREEEE CHAAAAAOOOOSSSS

Sage of All knowing

For the MCU age of ultron they basically combined the Age of Ultron storyline as well as the Astroid M X-men storyline where Wanda and Pietro were introduced.

Zanath Kariashi

Tobey is an amazing Peter Parker, but I gotta say Andrew had the wise-cracking Spiderman down much better

EthanEverhart

Man, people are really just throwing spoilers around like crazy in the comments. Christ almighty. I hope you have someone vetting them before you check, Alicia!

Bologna Amputation

"I just don't know her powers or abilities" Neither did the early MCU They delegated her to telekinesis when she is a full on reality warper. IDK if you're going to watch the mini series, but in WandaVision a joke is make by Darci that "you mean she could have one-v-one'd Thanos?" I believe that was the MCU's apology for nerfing her so much

EthanEverhart

Ultron is one of the most interesting villains in the MCU, he's not inherently evil, he's an AI that is super misguided by realizing that humanity is it's own biggest enemy from all the shit we did in the past and present and that is extremely interesting, personally the way he acts, talks etc. makes him an extremely interesting character and I love that :)

TheGodofCruelty

As mentioned above. Some of the older marvel movies that weren't made by marvel are worth watching. Like X-men and Fantastic 4 2005. And Of course, the movie that revived comic book movies BLADE.

Silver Raven

L take, Tobey is best Spoderman

Billy Green

please react to the x-men movies!!. especially the ones with quicksilver in them

Tony Ruiz

please react to the x-men movies!

Ryan Mills

1:19:20 “your pile might be a little smaller “ hey, it’s not about the size, it’s how you use it 😂

Ben Gross

If you like Anthony Mackie, (who plays Sam) you should watch Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, it is unreasonably good for what it is, Also that Arms Dealer on the Ship, Klaue, is the guy who plays Smeagol in LoTR

Noah Benden

Please react to more Marvel movies. There is just too much of a gap in between the reactions.

wiski

You’re spoiling

Ben Yokes

Ayo, why u gotta shit on their films m8? Without those movies, we wouldn't be where we have been and are with comic films at all. Plus they're not bad, each of them has something to offer the viewer. Plus Tobey's are CLASSICS breh, like COME ON.

Demon Slayer

i really wanna see her play marvel rivals now. Is it here?

Light Ricd7

10 years later and I still can't forgive them for giving me Quicksilver and immediatly taking him away T.T Damn you, Kevin Feige XD Can't say much because it spoils XMen, but both Pietro and Wanda are at the core of one of my favorite storylines in the comics, so you can imagine how excited I was when they showed up in the credits of Winter Soldier :D

Yurei Okami

It isn't a spoiler. Alicia already watched Guardians Vol1.

Yurei Okami

Im like 95% sure everything i said was mentioned in guardians of the galaxy when they were talking to the collector

adam csirik

Two things I must say: I loved this; you bring such great commentary to the Marvel films, and I love that. Second, you got nine more movies to go if you're going in order before you cry like there is no tomorrow!!! Enjoy!!!

PrimuZ

True. Imo Hawkeye is the Heart of the team. Cap is the Leader, Thor is the Powerhouse, Hulk is the Muscle/Big Guy, Stark is the Lancer. Not entirely sure which role I'd give Black Widow off the top of my head.

Kabelsatan

Spoilers

Ben Yokes

They aren’t even worth watching. Tom’s films are 10x better then any slop Tobey and Andrew were apart of, and it’s not nessecary to watch their movies for No Way Home

Ben Yokes

The fast guy's name is Quicksilver. If you thought he was impressive in this movie, oh boy just wait till you see the X-Men movies' version of Quicksilver, he's even better!

Arian Khalil

yeah Hawkeye holds firm at my number 2 rank. Captain America is always going to be at number one in the MCU. Just a mortal man in a world of gods with everything to lose.

YukoValis

They didn't just make a Hawkeye movie, they made a Hawkeye TV series. Honestly? It is pretty damn good. Some parts drag here and there but it has some amazing action, comedy, and drama moments. WARNING for everyone. Do not attempt to watch it until you have finished the last Avengers Movie to date.

YukoValis

She’s mentioned that she watched the Tobey Maguire trilogy, so we have that at least. Whether or not she’s seen Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man I have no idea.

Fireball Sensei

Just wanna quickly say about hawkeye which has most likely already been said, is that he is probably one of the most important members of the avengers. The reason for this that I at least see is that its because unlike the rest of the avengers, he's just a guy with a bow an arrow unlike his teammates who unlike him are a super soldier, a guy with one of the most powerful suits of armor in the world, an assassin that was trained from childhood, a man who can turn into a near impervious monster, and a literal GOD. It's because of how normal he is that basically lets the rest of the team remember that they should hold back for the sake of the people since if they don't, he could have been the first real casualty in their missions. But thats how I interpret it anyway.

HeroX

Fun fact it was a deleted scene but when captain America was gonna go after Ultron there was a graffiti of him with the mask that said fascist and so he threw it away (I think it was age of Ultron unless it was civil war idk)

Snowbuns

I know it's WAY TOO early to say anything about this BUT.... How do WE ALL COLLECTIVELY inform Alicia about the Spider-Man films? I don't know if she mentioned ever seeing Tobey or Andrew's Versions from back in the day and, I KNOW we'd all want her prepared enough for No Way Home, so just wondering for comments here how we go about this.

Demon Slayer

Alicia: "YOU HAVE KIDS??" Yes Alicia, Barton, aka "Hawkeye", FUCKS

Kap

the infinity stones do different stuff, the purple one in guardians of the galaxy was the "power" stone which is why it was so dangerous to touch. the collector mentioned the names of all of them, power, time, space, reality, mind, and soul

adam csirik

I thought I had nothing to add, but here's something: The reason Cap and Hawkeye are the most sympathetic to Pietro and Wanda and sort of act as their mentors, is that in the comics, at one point, the Avengers are literally just the 4 of them. They were known as Cap's Kooky Quartet.

hemahemahema

mannnnnnn let people have their own opinions bruh

WillGlacier

BTW the infinity stones are all supremely powerful but different in their effects.

Kinji

I love that Hawkeye gave his new baby the middle name to honor Pietro.

Michael Mangskau

Nah winter soldier was peak as are guardians movies, they coulda handled ultron much better

Charlie baker

No bad character ultimately this is a very half baked villian compared to how important ultron should be and i like parts of the mcu but am ultimately a marvel comics fan. I like alicia even if i dont love a fair number of the mainline marvel movies in hindsight seeing how the franchise went. I'm as free as any other to discuss how i felt about movies positive or negative, the mcu isnt all gems and thats fair to comment on

Charlie baker

Correction: Different interpretation, not bad character. Just because something’s not comic accurate, doesn’t mean it’s bad. Also, from your other comments, you don’t seem to like the mcu, so why are you watching this? You’re just making this less enjoyable for everyone, including yourself

Loki

I see where you’re coming from, but I have to respectfully disagree. Tom isn’t my favorite Spidey, and I think homecoming is the worst of his trilogy, but it’s as close to a street level spidey movie as we’re gonna get for him, and the relationship between him and Tony is so goddamn endearing. Tom’s Peter is so relatable, and he was my first big screen Spider-Man, so homecoming will always hold a special place in my heart

Loki

this is peak marvel

Ultrazucc

So quick note the reason quicksilver does in this movie even though he's always with his sister in the comics is because at the time of the movies release fox's X-Men also had quicksilver and so the MCU decided to kill him off in the first appearance.

Y0GE

should note scarlet witch in rivals also has brown hair lol

Charlie baker

This movie is one of my favorites, despite being a very messy example of storytelling. Even a lot of the visuals have a sort of messy quality. Then again, all of that messiness is beautiful in its own overwhelming way. It's almost like a TV series cobbled together into one plot, one movie. And of course, the introduction of Wanda and her story seals it for me. Keep an eye on that storyline.

LazyArtist

yeah do not feel the chemistry with widow and banner at all lol, pretty much just scarjo sounding flirty. whole last ca movie showed who the best pairing was

Charlie baker

ultron is like one of the og examples of said trope so him being an angsty baby rather then terrifying was abit eh

Charlie baker

homecoming was far from a banger man, so much of homecoming was hard to watch as a spiderman fan

Charlie baker

very bad overall take on ultron ultimately tbh, ultron is historically a creation of hank pym/ ant man nothing to do with iron man or hulk. so to make him a half baked imprint of tony who makes quips is really a bad take for a heavy hitter marvel villian whos all abut cleansing all life in favor of himself

Charlie baker

While technically universal owns the distribution rights to Namor and Hulk the rumors have been flying around since 2023 that a deal was reached and they just haven't said anything

John

Do they own hulk now? I thought universal still had the rights.

Matthew

My absolute favorite part of this film was the amazing bait and switch with Hawkeye and Quicksilver. The whole runtime, Clint is throwing death flags left and right, between the conversations with the team, the reveal of his family and everything else. He's set up to die so hard, and then having the gut punch of Pietro saving him and dying instead.... really really works for me. A lot of people dislike this movie for whatever reason, but I don't.

Harlon

Non spoiler history for the time period this came out Mutants were a no go word becuase fox had the rights to the xmen series and at the time those movies were doing good numbers in the box office. How did fox have the rights to one of the most popular marvel franchises? Well marvel filed for chapter 11 in the 90s and sold off spiderman, fantastic 4, xmen, etc. As of this moment the only property that marvel dosent own 100% of is spiderman they share those movies with Sony. In a perfect world Wanda and Pietro would be introduced in an xmen movie since that's were there origin is. The reason Pietro died I imagine has a lot to do with the fact that fox was also using him in the xmen movies. They were trying to get the phrase Inhuman to stick they called the maximoff this a couple of times and the idea was to take a team that wasn't as popular and try to make it more popular and lump the maximoff in with them but this was scrapped when the TV show failed

John

Something they don't explicitly point out in the movie is that this version of Ultron was based on HYDRA code as much as Tony & Bruce's contributions. They probably would've built it up from scratch if it weren't for the time limit of only having the staff (Mind Stone) for a couple days. They make the audience doubt Tony for a bit because we're getting Wanda & Pietro's perspective. Vision is closer to a true representation of Tony's ideals.

Rhodair

When I went to see this in the theater, I had to run to the bathroom...just in time to miss the Hulkbuster fight. 😭

Silvia Dragoness

Oh man! The movies coming up next are all bangers! Ant-man, civil war, spider-man homecoming, gaurdians 2, and black panther! Can't wait!

Loki

Ohh it could be that too

Emperor Moist

Maybe, but I am not sure I agree. I say it comes from the phrase "I think therefore I am" . It is a known philosophy and used by various stories about AI being created.

YukoValis

I have always seen it as her meaning she was "made as a weapon" and probably done horrible things as a literal child soldier tool... More than anything related to reproduction.

Azi

What I love about Ultron is that he is VERY human... He legit feels like the son of Tony Stark who made it his whole identity to tear everything his father is... His mannerism too creeped me out personally as it was familiar. I mean I act the SAME exact way when I can't find an obvious word like when he was talking to the twins XD I guess the writer and/or actor modeled his demeanor on a pattern observed in ppl! Overall it is a cool unconventional take on an AI villain. Usually it is the cold calculating kind devoid of all emotions. Ultron however is made in the image of humans. He is logical on the surface but clearly drifting towards irrationality due to unresolved personal emotions. Like teen angst. What i would say is that I just wanted MORE of ultron and a bit more of a buildup to him Feels like he should have been a longer lasting char.

Azi

Hawkeye telling his wife this is his last project is so good. He leaves his DIY projects half finished because it means he's leaving, but is coming back.

LuxLoser

The middle part of this Avengers film is very underrated. Lots of time to reflect on the characters.

William Dunlap

I appreciate that alicia thinks that the hulk is disappearing due to him feeling betrayed, i also think hulk is just tired of being a problem for civilians, so hes just gonna be on his own for abit

Klaus

I don't have strong opinions on the romance thing. It's honestly just okay. The latter, however, I do think was done fine. Pietro was untested. He wasn't focusing on saving people while he dodged bullets before. There's a lot of factors to take into consideration when moving someone. Especially someone who doesn't have your powerset. Pietro doesn't work like DC's speedsters, as he and the people he is carrying aren't encased in the somewhat magical Speed Force when he runs. Pietro was tagged, not because the plot decided he couldn't dodge those bullets, but because all of his focus was on something else. Obviously, they kind of had to kill him, as that was a part of the deal with Fox at the time. Disney got Scarlet Witch and Fox got Quicksilver. Still, I think they did the best with what they could.

James London

So I know it's a long way off but when you get to Spiderman: No Way Home it may be recommended that you take some time to watch the other Spiderman films outside the MCU as they provide some additional emotional context.

EthanEverhart

When the coolaid jarvis man said "i am..... I AM" that is a biblical reference basically him claiming to be God, who was also called I AM, like when Jesus said "Before he was, I AM" and thats what lead to him being crucified because people screamed blasphemy for him calling himself God

Emperor Moist

Curious if you are planning to add Agents of Shield to the marvel repertoire? In the timeline Season 1 lines up just before Thor 2: Dark World and it provides some other perspective of events in the movies after.

Gaming University

If you want to see a version of Pietro Maximoff AKA Quicksilver that actually survives their movie, check out the 2010's X-Men movies as he has some REALLY good moments in "X-Men: Days of Future's Past" and "X-Men: Apocalypse"

Serpentking789

thats not it at all. its weaker because it is just weaker. the quips get extremely old when its just about every character quipping. like i said in another post, this is the most whedon entry of the avengers movies, and i know he only did two and while he wasnt as bad for the first avengers, its nothing compared to this. and ultron, never read the comics but he was fairly weak of a character. he started strong but kind of drags and loses interest after a while. also, im confused by his powers. he can control his other robots, that makes sense but what about his telekinetic stuff like pulling up a piece of that road? and one more thing, that stupid running joke of cap saying "language." cap whos a ww2 veteran who no doubt heard all sorts of that stuff non-stop.

mitchhamilton64

Not sure I agree. It is weaker because it doesn't have much to work with. The first Avengers is that starry eyed experience of a first time. The later ones have things built up. This movie is more building up than pay off. Ultron is a good memorable villain, but unlike comics so many people like him have 5% of the limelight.

YukoValis

I hope alicia wil do the d+ series as well, not only movies

TwojaStaraIFrytki .

you might wanna choose your words better, saying "she gave it up" implies it was by her choice, the better way to make your point would be to say "she had them taken from her"

Ignis Flame

Literally never said she chose to have it, i said she gave up the ability to, never said it was fully by her own will. People misunderstanding simple concepts doesn't surprise me terribly, we'll go through an entire flashback of her regretting being an assassin and what it took to get there and people will single out the fact she was sterilized as the only thing that makes her a monster in her eyes

Lewd Angel

Okay, you cannot say she chose to have the surgery, nothing in the red room is decided by your choice, she and every other girl was given no choice in the decision. In her flashback it shows her trying to pretend to be weak to get out of having the surgery. Everyone gets mad at this character portrayal because they believe it sends the message “if a girl can’t have children, she’s a monster”

Ignis Flame

It's a different stone than in guardians

Juusii

Hey Alicia, for the next two Avengers films when you get to them, do NOT skip through the beginning end credits sequences (basically that animation at the start before the regular vertical scroll). They're essentially "part of the experience", any more details than that would require spoilers lol, you'll understand after you watch the films.

Jamison Goetsch

I mean, no, she definitely means that too. Shes a monster who gave up the ability to have a family so she could be a more efficient killer. Its both. No idea why people got mad at it though, what she went through and what she became was very much monsterous, sterilization included

Lewd Angel

For the hammer scene most people seem to agree that cap pretended to not be able to lift it cause he knew as soon as he touched it that he could lift it and that Thor would freak out a bit if someone else lifted it. Also quicksilver being killed by simple bullets will always be one of the dumbest things in this movie cause he should be more then fast enough to grab two people and pull them away from bullets that have such a predictable path

Artemis

noone is going to make fun of you she looks differnt in the comics and you have to know scarlet witch to know thats wanda

Lance Ivy

She isn't ready for infinity war

Z Assassin14

"I'm glad you asked, because I'd like to take this time to tell you ALL about my evil plan!" I love that line. My brother and I still quote that to this day whenever we watch anime or movies and the villain is monologuing. Ultron is pretty damn cool, but yeah this is one is just 'pretty good.'

Aqua Lantern

in case you missed it, the Childs name is Nathaniel Peidro Barton, his middle name is the speed twins first name as a way to honour him

Ignis Flame

Yeah, that is a totally fair take on this, it's generally held up as the weakest of the Avengers movie, and largely due to Ultron kind of just.. not really working as well as he needed to to really make things come together.

Seraphem

Alicia, im just curious if after your done with the MCU if you've ever considered watching any of the X-Men movies.

Nick Lopez

2:18:42 clint's baby being named nathaniel pietro barton is so touching

DankusMemes

I enjoy Alicia's change of heart on Hawkeye. Start of the movie "I forget about him all the time, arrow boy" to her being like "oh hell yeah, lets go arrow bo-....hawkeye!"

Simulacrae

I have seen so many people get mad at Natasha for that one line "Still think you're the only monster on the team?" they all seem to think she's saying she's a monster because she can't have kids, when if they focus on the words said before the line, they'll realize she said she's a monster because she said killing comes easy to her because of the procedure

Ignis Flame

I knew going into this series that Nat's confession to bruce would be hard for her to go through

Ignis Flame

I thought this was a fun film. Not as great as the first avengers but I like it. Apparently Elizabeth Olsen (scarlet witch) was told to basically wave her hands around and they’d work her powers around her gestures

Andrew birds

Trailers really do be spoiling too much nowadays. Like Captain America Winter Soldier was spoiled because the trailer showed Bucky alive, etc. However when I saw the trailer for this movie Age of Ultron, I freaked. Hearing and seeing Ultron for the first time was so epic. He is one possible villain that could have nuked the world twice over, rule our entire civilization with misinformation and control of essential resources through the net, and let loose an army of himself to terrorize the world. Sentient AI is very scary and has been part of many antagonists in many films.

Yaboi7117

I loved all the quips. I think they were paced well between the action and series events. There were a lot of them sure, but to me them being able to weave them like this shows solid writing. The one time Alicia complained is odd since I don't think the thief guy was trying to be funny. He was manipulating Wanda so as not to have his mind messed with.

YukoValis

"not every character needs to be" is a good way to describe the number one complaint of Josh Wheadon movies.

RF

And now begins Phase 3, better known as Phase Peak... hm, how about Peak Phase? Okay... we'll workshop the name later... Things will escalate after this movie - prepare thyself!

chronostorm

Antman is next, Not saying antman isn't good but after antman we get banger after banger in phase 3

Nick Parsons

Yeah, he really should’ve had a little more AM in him.

unknown organism

Alicia‘s take of this movie after the credits it’s pretty spot on this is kind of the weakest of the avengers movies a lot of it forgetful. It’s still a good movie and it sets up a lot of important stuff for the next phase but as a movie by itself, it is kind of weak so she’s pretty spot on on her observations

Daisy Azuras

To clarify the gripe about the Infinity Stones. Firstly, Ultron is in fact made of metal and therefore holding the power stone (the purple one from Guardians Of The Galaxy) would be about the same as Ronan's hammer holding it in the movie it debuted in, nothing would happen to him. And, it's less "holding an Infinity Stone will kill you" and more "each Infinity Stone, when held, gives to the holder infinite _____". The Power Stone for example gives you all the energy in the entire universe at once, infinite power, hence holding it is bad for your health lol. And on that same note, Vision having the Mind Stone in his forehead is like having all the information and knowledge in the entire universe whizzing through your head at all times, which is why his thoughts and opinions hold so much weight, and probably why he's so worthy (and yes, he counts, though made of vibranium, remember that it's not JUST vibranium, it's mixed with living tissue, he IS alive). Of course, that is too much for any mortal being to really comprehend, which is why you'll see Vision always deep in thought and answering questions in really deep, slow, methodical, and pontificate-y ways. Which is also why the final scene of Ultron's final death to Vision is so perfect for the two characters, not only does it deconstruct Ultron's whole motivation and ideology but it's also the most Vision-y way they could've possibly done the scene. The Vision has some awesome powers and is just generally pretty powerful as a character, but his strongest power, at least writing-wise, has always been the classic talk-no-jutsu, he's always been the philosophical type.

Ellerian

My major issue with the movie is Ultron didn't get the love he deserved. He's a major villain in the Marvel universe, but here he just feels like a delivery method to bring Vison into the cinematic universe. Like his whole plan revolves around making an organic body for himself but thats not Ultron, he IS the machine. I could talk about how his origins with Hank Pym were changed to make Tony, once again, the most important man in the room, but that would be a pointless thing to complain about, I just wish they had made Ultron less "evil unhinged Stark" and more of the mechanical nightmare he is supposed to be. Anger and fury and spite bundled up into an unstoppable, unkillable army of machines, not some "I will save mankind" good intentions bad actions villain. Too much quirky quips and humor, not enough horror. Also I hate that they made the face move and more human looking, that goes counter to the point of Ultron.

MaskedRider

Next Marvel movie if she's going by release order is Ant Man

nandyroo94

Ya only forget about Hawkeye UNTIL you play Marvel Rivals! And then he's the biggest menace lol

Xu Yang

About Wanda/Scarlet Witch, its understandable to not recognise the two as the same person. Even in the comics early Wanda is VERY different from what she grows into. Basically entirely different characters

Cole Savoie

the non cannon ones are ones that take place in a different universe or are unrelated to the avengers cannon all the watch lists online (im assuming shes using one of thoes) dont include spiderman 1 spiderman 2 spiderman 3 any of the xmen movies deadpool (despite Deadpool and wolverene being cannon) any wolverine movie (exept ^) including logan fantastic four daredevil and many more that are less important

lost siren

Phase 3’s easily the best one, this train’s about to go sicko mode

PrivateXimmy

Yeah most of the movies balance it well. This one had a couple jokes too many where they really weren’t needed. I actually really liked Ultron’s though. The contrast between his attempts at comedy and his violent outbursts did a great job showing how unstable his psyche was. Was genuinely unsettling.

PrivateXimmy

Just noticed that Nathanial's middle name was Pietro, Quicksilver's name

AzulSora

This movie gave me quip fatigue. Like every character was quipping this film hardly any heavy moments and those got undercut by a quip the next scene.

Dale Cooper

The reason Ultron could hold the stone is because is different stone, different ability. What it is, and what the rest do, for that matter, will be explained at Marvel's pace. And the Speedster's hero name is Quicksilver

AzulSora

He's also the rest of Smeagol.

hemahemahema

I live for these Alicia reacting to Marvel!!!!!!!

Cameron Meow

*gasp* A treat? For WE? 🥹

Kriscerosaurus

shh, dont tell alicia and we might be able to skip it

Pixel King

20:10 the words your looking for is "forgettable character"

Pixel King

This movie suffers from what I call Joss Whedonism(the director). There are too many quipy jokes everyhere. It was still under control in the first Avengers movie he directed, but here it just flies off the rails. It works for Tony and most of the Avengers scenes, but not anywhere else. Especially with Ultron who is too jokie in my opinion. It takes away from his intimidation factor. I get that those are supposed to be Tony's influences on him, but it's too much. He could have been an S tier villain. Also there are many moments where a joke took away from the situation. This movie is probably the worst case of marvel quipy comedy so far and in this era of Marvel in general.

Nik Jovan

Just when I thought I was gonna be productive. No regrets.

D Gaijin

Tbf, Hulk never agreed to run off with Natasha, Bruce did.

Fei Ashtear

100% agree. Not a bad movie but Ultron was kind of weak as a Villain. I get what they were going for with Ultron being all the bad traits of Tony just to 11 but it kind of just fell flat. But some very cool moments though.

Bj Howe

What fucks me up about this is the TADASHI chip among Tony's AI fragments at 1:47:30.

Geth Who

technically Antman is the end of Phase 2, which is dumb because it like directly ties into Captain America 3 which is the film that begins Phase 3

Ethan

I think the reason the one in Guardians was like that is because it's the Power stone

iAmPimmiCue

This movie gets so much hate... Frankly, I've always loved this one. Not my top... 10, but there are A LOT of good things in the MCU... Also, Cap splittin' that log got me hot and bothered for the first time over a guy in that particular way... *sweat* kinda wish I coulda been that log.

SlimeKingK

And now you enter phase 3. Pretty much every movie is a complete banger. The worst is only not great in comparison to the rest. Also contains my personal favorite, Thor 3. You're in for a treat.

Tyler Jones

not her hating on my goat hawkeye

Yvnngpd

I think your opinion here falls in line with the general feeling on this movie, especially as to where it ranks in the general scheme of Marvel movies (there's always haters, of course, but I ignore them when considering overall ratings). I didn't like the villain here either, especialy as they created it themselves. When you're done with all of them (by which I mean this stage, which ends at "Endgame"), it would be interesting if you tried to do a short video trying to put them all in order (ie once you've had time to consider it again). I am really looking foward to seeing how you react to the movies focussed on side characters that you haven't seen yet. I'm really not sure, although I'm having a bet with myself. We'll see whether I win!

Toasted Toad

WOOOOOOOO LET'S FUCKING GOOO i JUST WOKE UP THIS IS THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!

Nym

I think the only thing Steve lacks here is enough wisdom.

Fei Ashtear

It's a shame this film got so much hate when it first released. But has some of my favourite moments in the MCU

iAmPimmiCue

"I'm an idiot oh she's scarlet witch" just might be the funniest moment ever...of all time XD

Nanogerm

What are Non Canon? Spiderverse is- 2 directly references two of the live action Spider Man MCU movies.

Hotaru Tomoe

I failed to notice before but at the end of movie when Natasha FaceTime Bart to see baby Nathaniel his middle name is quicksilver. Awwwwww

But is the elevator lifting it because it's a machine or because the hammer is following its weilder.

Kaltrec

Marvel was still in it's growing phase with the movies. They really didn't comprehend what they could or should do with sequels. I believe what they found was that trying to stick too close to home resulted in the sub par quality of Thor 2 and Iron Man 2. I believe where the MCU really excelled is when they realized, "hey, why don't we open up their worlds a bit?" When we start seeing heros appearing in other hero's main films, the quality of the content had potential to really jump, as their universe was no longer confined to a small scope in space.

I guess you could say they were distracted by the amazing "girth" of his performance. Haa . . Haa . . Haa . . Haa . . . . . .

KatoBen

I believe it was meant to represent what Ultron was seeking to create. Kill off the humans and bring about the Age of Ultron. He saw himself as the evolution of mankind.

KatoBen

Joss Whedon loves to kill off characters to surprise the audience.

KatoBen

I disagree, I like his next appearance in [censored for spoilers]

KatoBen

Doubtful, unless someone pays for it. Assuming that tier is still available.

KatoBen

tbf they barely say either of the twins names throughout the film

Tyler Harding

So a little more info about some of the movie’s villains: Ultron like someone else mentioned is a bit more of a big deal in the comics than depicted here. He’s been “destroyed “ multiple times but always manages to come back new and improved. During his second incarnation he recruited several other super villains under the guise of the “The Crimson Cowl” (which I think the film may have been trying to allude to when Ultron recruited the Twins). Ultron has also on a number of occasions tried to create his own family starting with Vision using the brain pattern of the Avenger Wonder Man and later the robot-woman Jocasta using the brain pattern of the original Wasp (Janet VanDyne) to be his wife. Each time his created family has turned on him. I think Ultron’s biggest flex to date is leading an invasion of techno-organic aliens to conquer a huge portion of the Galaxy. Pietro and Wanda Maximoff aka Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were the children of Magneto (until that got retconned) and started out as villains fighting the X-Men, but eventually joined the Avengers. Quicksilver has had a couple of villain arcs, but the closest Wanda aka the Scarlet Witch has come to it really is when she went mad and destroyed the acting team of Avengers. Ulysses Klaue in the comics is better known by his Super Villain name, Klaw. He was originally a Black Panther foe, but soon branched out to fight the Fantastic Four and Avengers. Especially after becoming a being of living sound and replacing his missing hand with a Sonic Blaster capable of creating constructs out of sound. Klaw was also one of the villains recruited by Ultron in the comics to form the second Masters of Evil. On a non-villain note, I remember hearing that at the end Cap was supposed to say “Avengers Assemble!”, but Joss Whedon cut it off because he felt it was to corny.

BakaSama

It’s ironic that you just finished Lord of the Rings and posted the reaction recently because Sméagol’s actor is the guy who stole and sold the Vibranium.

Yaboi7117

A few things I don't like about this movie, the unnecessary Natasha and Bruce romance, and the inconsistency of Quicksilvers speed, he should have been able to dodge those bullets and save Hawkeye and the kid.

Draconic

hes not fully robotic, if he was, wanda wouldnt have been able to see into his head.

Draconic

Natasha's trauma over being sterilized is something I know a lot of people didn't really get but it's something nearly all my girlfriends were worried about. They were all concerned, even as young women, about their fertility and their dreams of having children. It's something that I think isn't really real to a lot of people but I'm happy it resonated with you

KYHAHN

Accidentally in the comics or the real-world? I think it's a common thing that his cruelty and his insanity might have been based off of a misunderstanding between writers/inkers/panel-ers/editors as to how the scene of his unintentionally or intentionally striking his wife should have been played out.

Reginald S. Pumpkins

As a Hooman, I give my condolences.

tellurium_allure

the arms dealer for the vibranium is Smeagle

Vincent

Just FYI: The team at the end of the film is the main team. Tony said he's "tapping out", Thor's off world, and Barton is with his family, so they recruited new peeps to replace them. So Sam is now officially an Avenger!

Jackson Bertoncino

I was very surprised, and grateful for this. As a Sapling, I really needed something nice tonight.

Hotaru Tomoe

anyone know if she will be reacting the "non cannon" marvel movies

lost siren

Fuck yeah into new territory for me. Ending up watching most of the old marvel films but by this post I pretty much dropped most of them. Came back for infinity war because my cousin forced me to watch it were he was forcing me to go with him to see end game. But heck yeah as I said before these films are so much better than I remember so hella excited Honestly great film only thing I didn’t like is the set up for Bruce and the hulk leaving. It’s not that it’s bad I just absolutely love the comics that story is based on and gd they shit all over it by end game. Comic is called planet hulk it also has a kick ass animated film highly recommend it. The film at least has the hulk and banner finally getting their happy ending

Nightmareman99

Right? Like, what a breath of fresh air, someone looking more than surface-deep into that scene!

Bologna Amputation

yay! more marvel

Gildarts1#fan

It might be blasphemy, but I like to pretend Ang Lee's Hulk is the intro movie for Banner instead of the 2008 one. And I really like Ed Norton as an actor, but yeah he is just completely wrong for the role.

Kyle King

I have seen this movie easily half a dozen times or so, but I have *never* until now noticed Wanda's eyes glow when she says "Stark" when talking about the dud bomb

Simulacrae

Hank Pym in the comics is an evil mad genius who accidentally wasn't evil. Pym is one of my favorite characters.

Kyle King

And after this movie Marvel Disney completely messes up the Hulk from here on out in every movie that he is in.

Iron_claw

This era we are entering into is truly the best. Everything from here to infinity war is great. And i love 90% of until endgame too

Immeasurably Me

When he got grazed and she said that she thought he was gunna get filled with bullets. The foreshadowing went hard

Immeasurably Me

Honestly don't even blame you for not recognizing Scarlet Witch right away she looks VERY different in Rivals

RaineM27

Fun note. The Guy who stole the Wakanda metal, is the same actor who played Gollum in Lord of the Rings. (He has a conversation with the actor who played Bilbo in a later movie, so it's Gollum with Bilbo in a Marvel movie).

REI

To answer your question about Quicksilver and the Flash, you are correct in the fact that Quicksilver is basically the Flash of Marvel but the Flash is stronger and faster due to how his powers work compared to Quicksilver.

Carter Skjerven

There's a joke I want to make here, but I don't want to spoil future movies.

Nicholas Reed

The trailer to this movie will always be better than this movie that we ended up getting. I wish we saw an Ultron with no strings. I don't typically like to be a downer but as a fan of the character of Ultron, I just don't think we ever got anything close to who he was in the comics. Then again in this universe Stark makes him when in most of the comics he is created by Hank Pym, and usually because Hank Pym ain't often the most balanced head-on-straight guys, Ultron usually ends up being insane as well. They could've added something to Ultron using the personality of MCU Stark... well..... better than the side of Stark that IS added to this Ultron. Would've done better to add the truly bad and fallacious side of Tony Stark rather than 'quips'. Sure MCU Tony was never 'Demon in a Bottle' Stark but he still had flaws that could've made some sort of Ultron work. Like what? Well at times he's very unsure of his singular capabilities and he makes shortcuts that overreach. He's judgemental of others proficiency and feels himself to be the fixer in all scenarios. While Ultron in this movie does try to - I guess - create a 'large scale fix' it doesn't feel like an actual reflection of who Stark is, nor is the villain anything of prior Ultrons from the comics, and doesn't even contrast against the Vision at the end of this film. There is no movie in the MCU that I spent more time thinking, "What if?"

Reginald S. Pumpkins

Yeah Ultron wasn't as impactful as he should've been considering how powerful he could become in general.

GrimPitbull

Jaffar Black Fang

I love that Hawkeye named his son Nathaniel Pietro (Maximoff brother) Barton. That's sweet.

Jordan Grinde

I just realised Ultron is voiced by James Spader... because I saw him play Raymond Reddington in The Blacklist recently. Same energy

Kaz

1:59:00 Age of Ultron hit theaters before Disney bought Fox. At this time, Fox owned the rights to the name Scarlet Witch. Disney just realized there was a loophole where if they never referred to the twins by their hero names or called them mutants, they could legally use them in the movie. I am 100% surprised Alicia did not notice Barton's new son's middle name is Pietro.

KatoBen

don't think too hard

Easy Mode - A.I

I will say that Tony's and Steve's characters go through a LOT of growth in the next few films. Hopefully that is not a spoiler, but if so someone please let me know your thoughts so I can delete this.

GingerBardMan

Age of Ultron is a bit weird in that while it's a major title in the Marvel timeline, its place is more of a stepping stone to something major. Ultron is the catalyst for a huge concept in Marvel: how does the world keep the powerful in check and stay safe without becoming a dystopia? It starts here with Tony and Ultron hurting the world in an attempt to secure it, and ends with... er, spoilers, but it's a lot.

GingerBardMan

If you’re curious about what qualifies a person as worthy of being able to wield Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, there are 5 qualities one must have to lift the hammer: Compassion, restraint, nobility, wisdom and humility. Vision definitely checks all those boxes.

48:46 Klaue the now one arm thief guy wasn't trying to be funny there I think. What he did was pretty smart. He basically called her out by revealing his fear. He was manipulating her so she wouldn't use the mind powers on him.

YukoValis

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, Shame that we’re so close to avengers infinity war but it’s probally gonna take months

Ben Yokes

No

Ben Yokes

Who cares about Gollum Ceasar is his best and only role

Ben Yokes

That film was much better then I remembered it being. Maybe because my expectations were lower so I could just enjoy the ride.

MenacingScone

Watching the fucking cogs turn in Alicia's head when she put 2 and 2 together to see Scarlet witch was so funny.

Sebastian Rangel

I think that the Avengers really do need Hawkeye, maybe not his skills per say, but because of who he is. Out of everyone on that team, he is the most human. He's got a wife and kids, an actual life outside of his job. He represents everything that they are fighting for and without Clint there they all might forget that.

Chris Foley

Well that was the Power Stone. It's not really well defined until later on, but the different stones have different powers. The Mind stone, which Vision has, gives him all the phasing and ups his mind tampering, and it's what gave Loki's scepter the mind control abilities. The Power stone, as seen in guardians, is just pure destructive force. All the stones can easily do damage, but the Power stone is the most nasty of the bunch in that regard.

Amorphous rodent

you want an easy run down of the phases n stuff, just check out the south park episode where they start the "franchises" n draw a 1 - 1,

You should talk more in your outros. I would love to hear your movie reviews and thoughts afterward.

Moua Yang

Such a good show to watch during Christmass too, it's a ton of fun.

David Bodor

Which also explains why he needed organic tissue from the Korean scientist to build a new body for him, because he can't really make use of the full power of the mind stone without organic matter. Vision is partly organic, made with cells that bonded to vibranium, so he can use the stone for his lasers.

David Bodor

Nah, he's too much of a good guy, he is absolutely worthy. If Cap is worthy, then so is Vision. Also, he counts as somewhat organic too btw. He's a sort of middle ground between robotic & living. That was the whole point of using the Korean scientist who specializes in creating fake tissue and using vibranium to bond to said tissue. Kinda like how Black Panther's body is reinforced through the use of the heart shaped herb which came from vibranium.

David Bodor

As She-Hulk would put it - CAPTAIN AMERICA FUUUUUUCKS!

David Bodor

To me it's not the weakest by technicality. The first avengers is, because it was basically ruined for me by the trope at the end where all the aliens just drop dead the moment the 'mothership' is destroyed, so that one is the weakest to me and will be forever bc I hate that trope with a fiery passion. I hated it in all the alien invasion movies that used it, I hated it in Game of Thrones, and I hate it in Avengers, so Ultron gets ahead of it by default.

David Bodor

2:03:03 "I like him, he's so cute!" And there it is, Alicia's metaphorical kiss of death...

Kristian

This is such a double edged sword. We got 2 Marvel movies in a week which is awesome, but that means we’ll most likely be waiting almost 2 weeks for another movie. And we’re currently in peak MCU era.

Gai Valentine

To be fair, an age can be any amount of time. Essentially, it's the age of Ultron because Ultron caused devastating changes in society.

Aubrey Bryn

this movie is the most whedonness one with the quips and it really brings the whole thing down in my opinion. on first watch, its alright but it really drags with each watch where you start to think. the first one had some whedon moments but this is absolute worst by far. plus, what age? it was barely a week of ultron.

mitchhamilton64

So here's some fun facts about the marvel lore: -Ultron is a long time avengers villain, however Tony and Banner weren't the ones to create him. Hank Pym, better known as the super hero Ant-Man, was one of the founding members of the avengers and was the person who created Ultron. -Scarlet Witch and her brother Peitro, or Quicksilver as he's known as in the comics, both started out as villains, but not for the avengers. They were both villains of the X-Men, and their father is the master of magnetism Magneto. However they found a home with the Avengers and became long time members of the team. -Hawkeye gets a lot more to do here, mainly because of fan complaints that he didn't have much screen time at all. However to many people, Clint Barton is their favorite of the Avengers. While he can't do much in comparison to heroes like Hulk, Thor, or Iron Man, Clint is someone who will always answer the call for the Avengers to Assemble. -At the end of the movie we're introduced to the New Avengers, this team was formed in the early 2000's after a massive storyline where the Avengers were torn apart by one of their own. However the team lineup is different, the orginal New Avengers was actually born from a simple idea of 'Why do we not have the most popular superheroes of all time on the Avengers?' -We also see the Avengers Compound, while not a direct 1 to 1, this is close to the original Avengers home base, the Avengers Mansion. Though that was located in New York proper while this is located outside the city.

Jacob Goodheart

knowing that it kinda makes the whole conversation at clints house ironic

Hollowjac

Yeah, episodic was definitely the way to go for him. 👍🏻

GavinGamePad3DS

Ultron was played by James Spader - Robert California himself - who I think we can all agree has one of the most magnetic voices in show business. They had him act as Ultron by wearing a MoCap suit with a ball suspended in the air above him to act as Ultron's 'head' for the other actors the look at, since Ultron is like 10 feet tall and James Spader... isn't. In fact, Spader roughly comes up to Ultron's waist in a height comparison. Which created a hilarious issue due to the fact that Spader is such a gravitational actor. At times when delivering his lines, almost every other actor on-set would find themselves looking away from Ultron's head and making eye contact with Spader instead. Apparently, it even ruined a bunch of takes, because after CGI, it would look like people were staring directly at Ultron's crotch while he was monologuing.

Jyxxe

Yay, didn't expect this so soon! :D

SouthHill

Fun fact Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch are mutants from X-Men in the comic books but at the time Disney didn't own the rights for X-men at least for the movies

Jaffar Black Fang

Pietro (Quicksilver) is not in Rivals. Would be cool though, not sure how you do a speedster in a hero shooter.

Connor Ellis

Now who's gonna tell her that Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) was actually pregnant during this entire movie and did a lot to most stunts herself XD

SayoAqua

So, with AoU now done, we come to the end of Phase 2... kinda. Anyway, Phase two always felt almost like an overextension to me. Like each film was trying to double down on certain themes. CA:WS, GotG and the next film after this were all great! IM3 and T:TDW were both Meh to just Bad, so not a great start. A:AoU is a nice middle ground, which is where most of these team up movies need to be. What it really does well, rather than be a finale, is being the best setup for what is to come.

Kamvex

The film ain’t perfect but that whole sequence is incredible

PrivateXimmy

This movie is really hard to watch for me cause all i see when ultron speaks is red reddington, i so wish she would watch the blacklist lol

Maxxy

I can see people prefering this over the first, I just felt Ultron wasn't a very interesting villain, much prefered Loki.

Erik Nilsson

I was wondering when you would realize Wanda is Scarlet Witch 😅

V_VMat

Hawkeye doesn't get his own movie, but he does get his own Disney+ show and it's fantastic.

Kevin Bartelen

I knew learning more about Natasha (Black Widow) would hit you hard. They do a great job with her character throughout these films. Phase 3 will be fun to see your reaction.

Jonathan Canfield

yea Age of Ultron is easily the weakest avengers movie. But it's also weirdly one of the marvel movies that gets better when other movies add more and more weight to the events, decisions, and outcomes of this movie. It , while being an avengers movie, feels like a link to the future rather than wrapping up a story that was built up over several other movies. Like avengers 1 for instance, we got little teasers all through the phase 1 movies and it felt satisfying and well built up. But Ultron is the beginning of the "real" phase 2 and it def makes the movie feel better when you think of it like that, at least to me.

marlanes

I personally loved this movie

V STAN

I love the party scene, my favorite scene of the movie. It really "humanizes" the team. I also love how they characterized Clint and Natasha throughout the MCU so far instead of introducing them with solo movies. This movie in particular did a lot for their characters, both to their personalities and relationships with the other members. They also moved away from the initial "badass agent" with nothing else vibe they had at the beginning of the MCU.

leviathan_13

yeah, but also i dont think the movies themselves have made that distinction yet and i was trying to be vague what with this being her first watch yknow

blorbothefrog

Not the best Marvel movie, but it's pretty good. I like Hawkeye getting development, I like his character a lot actually. Vision is very cool, one of my favourites along with Wanda. Ultron is a bit of a miss for me. I like the Hulk a lot, but he was a bit of a miss here. The fights were cool, but I don't like how he ended the movie, and since Universal holds the rights to the Hulk, Marvel could never make a proper Hulk movie, which sucks. As for scenes, there's plenty of setpieces that are cool, and there's some great moments, but overall it's not the best action Marvel delivers, it's kinda middling. The party scene was a ton of fun, all the Avengers taking turns trying to lift Thor's hammer was cute, and Barton's farm is a really neat scene too, just introducing Hawkeye's family and having a place for the Avengers to chill for a bit and interact with each other, it's really nice.

David Bodor

This was so needed, I've been dealing with a wisdom tooth growing in today and mannnn did I need some grade A+ reaction content.

Sam Smith

don't know if you notced but on Hawkey's baby his full name is written and we see his middle name is Pietro, the name of the twin that died to save him.

millecamps

Also Ultron didn't want to risk her manipulating things out of his favor, so made sure that she wanted the same things he wanted.

The Lazy Gamer

I can't wait for when Ultron comes to Marvel Rivals

Gonk

Oh, right, quicksilver never got name-dropped too. I didn't know it was over legal reasons, though. Good to know that, now, thank you!

Scarecrow443

Also the big difference is that in GOTG it was the Power Stone. The other ones are fair game really.

The Lazy Gamer

You can blame the X-men movies for Quicksilver dying here in the MCU.

LordTouchMe

i don't know... i think i like this one better than the original. but i guess it depends on taste.

Julio Castillo

If I remember correctly they weren't allowed at the time to refer to her as Scarlet Witch either due to legal reasons, same with why they killed Pietro here. FOX let them use him for one movie because they had plans for him in their movies.

The Lazy Gamer

Fun Fact: Ulysses Klaue (the arms dealer guy from Africa) is played by Andy Serkis, AKA Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Also... don't know if you have seen them... but Hawkeye's wife is played by Linda Cardellini, AKA Velma from first 2 Scooby-doo Live action movies.

Julio Castillo

31:09 "He might be a virgin, but my god does he fuck." Damn, lol

Urgoslav

The fact that you're debating this means you fell into the trap of discussion XD also Vision worthy lol

Cabo Boose

1:14:50 THERE IT IS. THERE'S THE PAIN. THAT'S THE SHIT I WAS WAITING FOR!!! A lot of people weren't fans of Natasha's story here because they saw it as her equating being a monster with being unable to have kids and therefore being pretty misogynistic writing. While I understand that interpretation, I'm more on the side that it was meant to be representative of just how broken she feels she is due to ALL the things she endured in the Red Room. Everything about her that didn't serve the purpose she was trained for was stolen from her, and she's lived on with only what was left, serving other people's interests because that's all she felt she was for. After the events of Winter Soldier (in her words: finding out she basically traded the KGB for Hydra, and then being free of it all now that it's public knowledge), she has the opportunity to finally try to be more than someone else's agent. She's going after something she wants just for herself, all the while coming to terms with the fact that despite this newfound self-freedom, she's still marked by her past in ways that'll never change. That's what's heartbreaking about what she's saying to me, not just that she can't get pregnant. Regardless of the discourse, I've been really looking forward to your reaction to that scene because I knew it'd hit you right where you live. Not that I want you to be sad or anything, haha. You care so much about that stuff for yourself, and then you connect and invest in these stories in a way that helps to bring out the realness in them. So out of everything in this movie that scene was my most anticipated moment, and it paid off beautifully. TL;DR: fuck yeah lol

Zannimask

Hahahaha I was waiting the WHOLE movie for her to realize and as soon as she made that face I was like “it clicked, she’s Scarlet Witch”

18C

You not catching into who Wanda was until 2 hours in was funny, but they didn't really outright tell you, you were kinda meant to sort that out from context. All is forgiven XD

Scarecrow443

I'm pretty sure Vision could only lift the hammer because he's a robot and isn't technically alive, thus there is nothing to be worthy. It's like putting the hammer in an elevator: it'll lift it, but it won't have any other powers.

Daniel Morgan

1:24:48 i think the difference is that ultron isnt a real person. in GOTG they specifically said 'if the stone comes into contact with organic matter' it destroys everything. thats why they worked to keep ronan off the planet so he didnt come into contact with the physical ground. ultron isnt organic matter, so he can touch the stone just fine edit: those of you responding to this comment to repeatedly point out the differences in the abilities between the stones, yes i know. i was actually intentionally being vague about it since the movies themselves have not yet made that distinction very clear and this is her first time watching. spoiler etiquette kinda requires being vague and not explaining everything the first time it appears. i was trying to explain in a way that only addresses information she already has

blorbothefrog

FUN FACT: If you look back when Black Widow is sent a video of Hawkeye's infant son near the end his shirt reads: Nathanial Pietro Barton, he's named after Natasha and his middle name is from the speedster, Pietro Maximoff, who gave his life so Hawkeye could live. ;-;

EddyTheMoza

Starting off the new year RIGHT

slavicandsapphic

I was wondering how long it would take her to realize Wanda was Scarlet Witch. haha

Tina

Alicia, fun fact. The actor who plays that arms dealer the twins met with is Andy Serkis, he voice acted Gollum in the LOTR ^^

SilverWolf1293

I never understood the “hide the zucchini” joke until now, my childhood is a little more dirty now.

Michael

I understand where you're coming from but Hulks catchphrase is Hulk is the Strongest there is. Gutting his power doesn't help thematically and it was only done to lift other heroes and villains up but doing that inevitably leaves hulk in the dust. The only way the Hulk would build enough anger and strength to actually damage the more grounded world is if he fought someone who could destroy the planet single handed like Galactus otherwise he would only just overpower everyone which is reasonable.

Gamer Kane

FYI: the guy conversing with the twins around the 49 minute mark on your reaction, is also the voice of golum.

Christopher Grove

Which is probably why they retroactively made The Incredible Hulk canon, so they could point to it saying "look Baner already dealt with his anger issues, we don't need another Hulk movie"

Timothy Tänzer

So, only the power stone kills anyone it touches. Because it has so much power in it that those who use it need to be strong enough to do so.

Daniel Morgan

Probably the weakest of the Avengers movies, but it sets up a lot for the future

Erik Nilsson

I love comic Hulk but the MCU is trying to be more grounded, i.e. Thor and other Asgardians aren't actual gods, but space aliens with a longer lifespan and powers/technology that seem like magic (to us), Hulk seems to have a fixed power level instead of it being tied to his anger. But I don't think Hulks point is his strength, altough because they didn't really do anything with him after Endgame (don't want to spoil what they did after) we didn't get to find out what point they were trying to make. Usually the Hulk represents repressed anger and the explosive release of that anger once you inevitably lose control of it.

Timothy Tänzer

I was gonna say reddit, but both is also true

Faroth

I dont think Ultron using staff was only manipulation, in previous Avengers Profesor Erik Selvig said it showed him things, it did made him crazy a bit but also told him how to do things he did, just as Hawkeye where it showed him his target. ( Just throwing ideas, please dont eat me :D )

Noel

Part of the Hulk's ability is that the angrier and more hurt he gets the stronger he gets. Also in every version of the story except this one the purpose of the Hulk Buster armour or "Veronica" is to show he can't be stopped. The Hulk always beats the Hulk buster because that's the point. This is one of if not the main reason I don't like the MCU, because they nerf the Hulk into the ground and miss the point of him entirely.

Gamer Kane

Klaue, the arms dealer that Ultron and the Maximoffs deal with, is the voice of Smeagol.

ShreddedNinja

I love this movie. It started to cement Hawk Eye in my number 2 spot. He feels the most human and with so much to lose. That Avengers speech gave me chills the first time. Anyway the rest of my comment is going to be a rant. So let us talk about Joss Whedon. He is the director for Avengers and this movie here. The man is amazing at what he does be it writing or directing. Toy story, Speed, Buffy the vampire slayer/Angel, Cabin in the woods, and Firefly. All top tier. Sure he had some stinkers, but if you show me a director without a bad movie then I'll show you a director that hasn't made enough movies. There are two issues currently. His personality has been known to rub a lot of people the wrong way. Many find him a jerk. Second with age of Ultron he was suffering from burnout and overwork so this movie doesn't stand as strong as it could. I still really love this movie though.

YukoValis

Oh oh, this is an excellent time to watch the Phase 3 announcement (originally done right before AoU): https://youtu.be/VTUaYuwBUIE?si=gb_P7ceHkALCI_9o Guys please like this comment or better yet let Alicia know about the announcement yourself if you agree. The announcement really is a masterclass on how to reveal your shit, it’s also just a solid piece of entertainment by itself, with literal plot twists!

hemahemahema

Her saying that about Hawkeye and his own series when it’s one of the only good ones in the last few years is kind of hilarious

Michael

Ultron here is one of my favorite takes on Artificial Intelligence. He's Snarky, Philosophical, Emotionally unstable, obsessed with religious metaphor.

30:00 In hindsight, we should have expected Hulk to be a favorite. Alicia digs skyscraper sized muscly dorks.

I think there's still an ongoing argument about Cap and the hammer. Either he is almost worthy but not worthy enough. Or he can lift the hammer but fakes it cause he knows it will upset Thor. I've always been in the latter. Edit: Wait your cancer is in the Uterius? And you're taking the long treatment so you'll have a better shot a being a mom?! You are a brave and strong woman for making that choice and if anyone gives you a hard time over that I WILL beat them up for you.

Will Alicia watch the X-Men series?

Just a bit info here. Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch are X-men characters. The X-men do have shows and movies that u have yet to watch They killed Pietro aka Quicksilver in this movie, because Fox still had the rights to the X-men at the time and they was using Quicksilver for their movies. But not Scarlet Witch. They don't even refer them as their hero names until we get Phase 4. That's because around 2019, Disney brought Fox and Marvel Studios got back the rights to the Marvel Fox characters again At this time, Marvel Studios couldn't use the word "Mutants" cuz that leads into the X-men which Fox owns. Also yes, Hawkeye has his own TV show but that's isn't until u get to Phase 4. U may be interested in it cuz it's not just him. In the comics, there are two Hawkeye. One is Clint and the other is his student, Kate Bishop

Lotta people like to give Hawkeye shit, including in the marvel universe. He took it personally once and put the bow away. Not to retire mind you, to throw hands. His skill level was so high even Iron Fist (a martial artist hero with mystical powers) complimented him. He's basically the strongest human without any enhancements.

wooo!

JoJo

nice surprise. ^^ so happy

Holy crap, Age of Ultron is literally my favorite marvel movie and she finally watched it. I used to pray for times like this😭🙏🏽

oh yeah

oh and also, Hawkeye DOES get his own movie. technically, it's a 6 episode tv show, but put it all together, it's a movie. trust me, this is only his third appearance in the MCU. you'll see way more of him in later movies, and trust me, Alicia, you will CRY over him. Edit: oh and also, please don't judge characters for making jokes. they're Marvel characters. every single one has at least one of them. just accept it. also, you don't mock Andy Serkis aka Gollum XD

Just so you know: ultron was a copy of jarvis+tony+bruce and lasted less than 30 seconds on internet and decided humanity should die... that speaks about humanity a lot...

Faroth

Boy I've got quite a few reactions to catch up on.

Arian Khalil

Yeah same, I'd love to see her watch Deadpool!

Arian Khalil

honestly, i feel like all the conversations in all Marvel Movies are incredibly interesting, even the one note or one movie villain scenes. some people just crave more excitement and fighting more than talking scenes.
