Frieren Ep 14

sorry for being late

Frieren Ep 14

Comments

As someone with autism, I can definitely say that I at least have trouble with specific emotions. Mainly happiness, love, and empathy.

Ditto Demo123

Okay, one detail that I didn't quite get until now - Frieren legit fell asleep then woke up in the middle of the night to look for that ring. She is constantly characterized as unable to wake up until the middle of the day, and yet here she is waking up after a few hours because that ring is THAT important to her...

I know im superlate to the party, but Frieren is supposed to represent part of the spectre of autistic people (all of her 'modern party' is, actually) since we already here meet another elf and now know that is not elves who are like her, its just her (author confirmed) so she represent those people that didnt have that much comprehension of feelings, not of others or from themselves, but once explained, they work hard for those feelings, and is difficult for them to demostrate them. So frieren didnt realized what himmel was meanning with his proposition to her until now, so this anime is basically a: "wait... he was in love with me? Oooohhh... wait, i think i love him too... wait, isnt him dead already?" So combine a millenial elf with an autistic genius, and you got Frieren

Faroth

The bittersweet part when Himmel puts the ring on Frieren and the clock tower is in the middle. To me it signifies that the only thing that stands in between them is time.

Ten-ten

Like, forgoring one own's birthday and therefor not making a big deal if someone didn't get anything for you, but you obviously still care if they do

The men thing about birthdays, it's not that they are "too manly for it", but more like "oh yeah, i forgor, it's just another day in another year anyways"

josue vargas

They got me fucked up; cryin in the club rn.

Tachyon Fast

This really is a painful episode to watch. We’ve known since ep 1 Himmel’s feelings for Frieren, but not only was it unrequited, but because Frieren didn’t understand humans or their emotions there was never any real hope for his feelings to be returned, and he accepted that, even though he continued to wait for her. Fast forward nearly 100 years later, Himmel having been dead for decades by this point. Frieren has spent more time with humans and learned about their emotions, especially watching Fern’s and Stark’s relationship slowly blossom… and she’s begun to realize what Himmel felt for her AND that she shares the same feelings for him - but now it’s far too late. It makes it even sadder seeing Frieren desperately search for the ring that was lost, as well as the relief she felt as she held it to her heart. And I can tell it’s only going to get sadder as Frieren falls even further in love with a man that has long been dead.
