I say this on every rewatch. But Kazuma has the best kind of luck. Like the luck of a rat that always manages to miraculously squeeze through the one loophole in hopeless situations that are stacked against itself without being noticed.
To be able to dodge notoriety in the devil king's army for killing Verdia, who was one of the devil king's generals, is insanely lucky. Normally that would earn getting surveyed by scouts or something at the very least.
Being able to dodge/delay a death penalty in a rigged trial from Aldarp, the second most powerful noble in the kingdom, is insanely lucky. Darkness' family just happens to be the highest ranked nobility. With no wiggle room above it besides the royal family. Only the most powerful noble family could trump Aldarp, and the walking disaster Darkness happens to be the Dustiness heir apparent. Best part is that it wasn't out of nowhere. We knew about her family name, but not how influential they were directly until S2.
I love Konosuba's writing

Kazuma is the real one, even through everything he never once even thought of giving Wiz up and revealing her identity

No Alicia, he didn't even get to touch the girl.
He died imagining he was saving her from the truck

Kazuma is a pervert and a womanizer and deserves almost everything that comes his way… but he’s also the epitome of the saying “no good deed goes unpunished”.

I love the text scrawl at the start of this. Mostly because it goes between being tangentially true and pure lies.
