Kurapika: "When my eyes turn crimson, this show becomes Kurapika Shippuuden."

Liesmith

Uvo's piss wasn't bubbly those were leach eggs, as he said while he was pissing.

PerfectYarn

Ever been so confident about a fight that you brought a shovel to it?

KingofYokai

Missing things when first watching hunterxhunter is part of the journey. But a conversation about piss foam when we had three episodes actively talking about the leech eggs in his bladder and uvo commenting on the eggs he just peed out... Truly one of the discussions of all time

Lightinger

Alicia, giiiirl, you really gotta start being careful not to skip things. In this anime entire dialogue sequences can happen in parts you think are safe to blow past.

Xanis

I forgot to say it last episode, thanks Azu!

Kawaii Edgelord

Kurapika's mentor didn't say that he couldn't conjure chains, just that conjuring indestructible chains is impossible

Chris Foley

For Uvo, it was Tuesday

Legion

that and he told them he wanted revenge on "that chain user" xD

The Force

I don't think they've even realized, or rather that it hasn't. Even so, there's episodes early on that made me realize this anime is so unique than other anime or shonen, in general.

SHOCK JOHNNY

THIS is the episode where you realize Hunter X Hunter is NOT like other anime!!!

Timmetry

Uvo: Openly admits to killing the Kurta Alicia: Okay but maybe it wasn't them

Hunter Bishop

They know about Kurapika's chains because Kurapika literally yoinked him right in front of them.

Aerowind

That final quote is just a top tier movie quote.

Miklar Sihn

Keep in mind... in HxH to get power there has to be a drawback like his rules about the phantom troupe. The drawback of Emperor Time is unbelievably bad, but is only explained in the manga after the anime ends. If you want to know what the drawback is I can explain it but don't wanna go spoiling unasked.

Jargo

Ah yes when you are so sure of what's gonna happen that you bring one with you

GiantDadsShadow

Shovel, my favourite character

Grei Glace

I think the implication of Uvo not remembering Kurapika's clan at first is that wiping out an entire clan is normal for him. Like you said, "You would remember something like that," and I think that's the point. You or I would remember something like that but to Uvo that was just Tuesday.

Ol' Yellow Eyes

The boss just theorized Kuraika is a conjurer or manipulator because he uses chains

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

Burying uvo in an unmarked grave in the middle of nowhere. I dont view that as being respectful, kurapika was hiding the body. The phantom troupe will never find that grave

Exiova

Right at the beginning, Uvogin's piss is that way because of the leech eggs.

Joel Sasmad

Thank you for the editing work Azu! ❤️

Joel Sasmad

Remember this: Most people don't even think this is the best episode in the show. There are more bangers coming. This is definitely in top 5 for me.

Josh Newerth

I also want to take this chance to make a shout-out to Uvogin... The majority of people always focus on Kurapika when talking about this episode (and for good reason) but i think it is also worthy of note how Uvo even at the mercy of a Virtually invincible opponent, even when tortured, even at the face of death.... he refused to give up information on his comrades. In different circumstances and with different context... this moment would grant Uvo the Praise and Admiration of everyone watching... but even if he's a cold-blooded killer, the fact remains that he demonstrated that he was still human, by caring for those who he shared his lifestyle with. He might not be worthy of admiration, but he's definetely worthy of respect in my opinion.

Julio Castillo

Ok so... you guys are most likely gonna shot me down and say you don't care.... but this still calls for a little bit of explanation. The episode is great... but it also gives you a misguided perspective on Kurapika's Power... like... yes he has become really strong... but he's not as broken as you think he is. The Main Catch here is that his most powerful Chain (Chain Jail) can only be used on the Phantom Troupe, if he breaks this rule he dies... and that's what makes the ability so strong. But then you could say... but he still has Emperor Time which gives him mastery over every Nen Category... but it's still not that simple. What the ability Emperor Time actually does it's that it gives Kurapika 100% effiency on every Nen Category, which means that... while his eyes are Scarlet he can use Techniques from... let's say the Enhancement category at the same capacity that a Natural-born Enhancer could. That's why he was able to endure Uvogin's punches. If he had remained a normal Conjurer he would've sustained A LOT more damage (although im gonna be honest here... even if he had gained 100% efficiency in Enhancement abilities he still should've struggled more against Uvogin's 50% of power... after all Uvo was a Master Enhancer with years, maybe even decades of experience while Kurapika only learned Nen 6-7 months ago at this point). Another thing to consider... even with the power of Chain Jail and the versatility of Emperor Time... Kurapika still has to be cautious and wary of not engaging more than 1 Phantom Troupe Member at the time, as he himself said... he prefers to fight One-on-One. No matter how strong your abilities are... fighting against multiple Nen Masters at the same time will always put the odds against you. I would talk more in Detail about Emperor Time as an Nen ability but that would be considered Spoilers so i will stop here. So... In Short.... Kurapika always has the advantage against members of the Phantom Troupe, yes......... but he only becomes Broken if he is fighting them One-on-One.

Julio Castillo

I loved the reaction to emperor time; Kurapika is a damn powerhouse of a nen user.

Light227

Well.... we don't know specifically if it really was just because of the eyes, the 2011 anime does skip some really important pieces of information which are necessary to have a full understanding of the Phantom Troupe and the place they come from. but i won't say more cuz it could lead to spoilers.

Julio Castillo

kurapika is so badass for bringing a shovel to his fight

Richard Kluin

The watershed moment I was talking about last session. This episode sets an amazing precedent.

Ranginald Vagel

The Troupe absolutely killed the Kurta. Uvo just didn't remember because they weren't important to him. They don't care about the lives they take. To him they were just another job. Not even a job actually, they just did it because the boss liked their eyes. Nothing more and nothing less.

DeVaunBeats

this adaptation sorta dumbed down leorio (i almost typed 'lucario' lol) during the testing gates at the zoldyck estate, he easily topples 3 of them in the old anime, and he beats that huge (mole) guy (episode 46) in arm wrestling easier than probably even gon could

Yagi di Hoshi

My boy, Kurapika, the goat, brought a shovel to his fight because HE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO KILL UVO. One of the most savage things I’ve seen in anime
