She’s still my favourite character of the series though, and one thing I missed on the first viewing, is how the whole fight sequence looks from Catra’s perspective. To her, Adora was snatched away from her by a Princess, the very enemy she and Adora have been training to fight against, and the very next moment that Catra sees Adora, she’s in She-Ra form. You can even see her positioning to attack, but the next moment we see Catra is after Adora changes back, and we see the look of shock and disbelief on her face. From Catra’s perspective, Adora was kidnapped, brainwashed and then transformed into a Princess.

It's like in military schools, boarding schools, and frats or sororities that use very toxic initiation shit and abuse the younger kids who put up with it because they have something to gain from being in the system and with the understanding one day they'll be the ones to abuse and push around the other kids. Or like people who defend rich assholes' ability to get away with a lot of shit because one day they too will be a rich asshole.
