Avengers

:D thanks for waiting folks! Late by 2 days but here it is!

Comments

Love where she obsessed over the blueberries. They kept getting mad about him snacking, but RDJ CONSTANTLY stashed snacks over every single set without their knowledge. They just gave up and let him snack during shots. So when he offered Ruffalo a freeze dried blueberry, that was his 100% honest reaction to RDJ's improvised line.

Caveman

2:32:44 - second time watching the reaction cus the movie that good. I Think it's more or less tony n that security guard helping him realize that the hulks not all bad and the hulk finally getting a little more freedom and autonomy

Easy Mode - A.I

Fun fact, ants have wars. I mean wars full stop.

Joseph Sternglass

IYKYK but rewatching the movie and hearing that line at 55:54 about there being no place they can't find Loki is hilarious at least to me anyway

TJ Lukusa

1:52:49 You're welcome~

Lynn

So the Blueberries were actually a Robert Downy Jr. thing, he likes to snack on set, and just did it mid take so they weren't part of the script, hence Ruffalos confusion at the offer.

Philip Thomas

No time to look through all the comments but the blueberry thing is funny, RDJ actually snuck them onto the set, which is why everyone was so surprised, but he just kept eatin em xD

The Force

I actually love how invested Alicia got about the blueberries lol

Beelz

This movie is still an absolute blast. I remember hearing that there was nearly 10 minutes before the title showed up. I was not disappointed, it ended up being pretty cool. I also love the fight between Thor, iron man, and captain America.

Andrew birds

Since it can be a sensible topic or people can just don't care, time stamp 10:40 for those who want to skip the politic talk

Professeur Multivers

As a side note since it's only mentioned in the comics in one specific issue but S.H.I.E.L.D canonically maintains a container full of puppies to get the Hulk to calm down.

TrawllG3

She wants Loki to not be Loki so bad lol

Danger Zone

RDJ had food hidden all around the set because he's a snacky boi. it's fun improv

downright darius

I think Alicia forgot an earlier line when Steve gave Fury the money. Fury bet Steve $10 he could still surprise him in life. The Helicarrier was certainly a surprise.

Taxima

Just wanted to see a movie reaction, not have someone downplay my rights being taken away

JoJo

"To challenge them is to court death" oh. It took me rewatching this just now to remember that was exactly what Thanos wants. To court/woo death. We never got to see death actualized or personified like the comics but the was a nod to the comic reason why Thanos was thanosing

John Grizzly

Hey Alica and moderators and voters. I really enjoyed these reactions so far. If I may throw in a suggestion to watch a video before infinity war it's called "Road to infinity war" it's a quick 20 minute cinematic masterpiece mashup and edit of all the films that lead to that point. You will see cinematic connections you may not have noticed before and it's honnestly very emotional and good. I highly recommend we do one of it before the big hit I think it would do great for the channel Here is the link. I'll probably ask again in the future since I don't have discord access atm. https://youtu.be/RbK1e94p8v0?si=OusbQtBM4tpNqUf9

"Well, I don't every time get what I want..." Good God. I only *just now* realized the significance of what was happening while he was saying that.

Cassian Cat

I dunno how many people have already commented on this already, but my head canon while watching this (I have watched most of the MCU in the past but it's been a VERY long time) was that when Bruce would transform into the hulk from outside influence that made him feel threatened, then Hulk would go into full on self preservation mode and just lash out at anything or anyone that even COULD be a threat. But when he directs his anger at something and has a goal or mission in mind while transforming on his own accord, the Hulk would have more control and situational awareness even if it's still not really Bruce anymore. Love the reactions and can't wait to see more!!

BooHooligan

My personal write-in campaign didn’t go so well, so I don’t want to talk about politics either. *stomps off in a huff in imagination*

LazyArtist

Literally same lol

ryu kage

Saw that the Cap America reaction came out on YouTube, came over here so I could immediately see the full Avengers reaction :D Love her takes on the movie!

Joey245

0:16:55. Loved the reaction.

sebas hernandez

I agree keeping a debate about politics is very hard to stay respectful. You want proof watch the recent debates 2024. Neither side can keep the debate on track because they have no respect for each other. You are also so right about Americans valuing the head of the party then the actual party itself. The thing is that Americans rarely admit they’re wrong and take accountability, I would know I am one of them. I am not afraid to admit I am wrong, but I also don’t want to be pushed around by someone’s big words; morals, ethics and logic are what we should value equally.

Yaboi7117

I can't wait to see Alicia watch the Antman scene.

Our lovely Canadian rambles about not talking about the US election for 10 min if anyone wants to skip ahead.

MajestNick

I was just about to say that in the comment too lol

bandi138138

YOU WATCH HIMYM IN THE BACKGROUND TOO?! LOL omg

lover not fighter

fun fact with the blueberries, he constantly was bringing snacks onto the set, and even when told to stop, he simply started hiding them. they ended up just going with it and putting it in the movies.

brandon anderson

It's a cinematic shorcut they had to use to save time on the movie, it's not great, but understand that sometimes you have to make hard choices to keep movies an acceptable lenght for the studio.

Gog

you mentioned how randomly the blueberries iron man was eating came from in the scene where he handed them to banner and he looked super confused, im pretty sure those were literally blueberries that RDJ brought to the set in his pocket and just randomly started snacking on during that scene and they left it in 😭

Bambi

Edward Norton is amazing in other roles, just feel like he was given wonky direction or something

Dhaval Kale

Completely was unaware Pikes voice actor was on here. The girl being interviewed at the end is Ashley Johnson.

FellwindXCII

The minute you said HI3, I immediately thought of The Final Lesson and broke.

FellwindXCII

i love watching these movies with you, my family doesn't like watching movies

Steve Cushman

Except they aren't. One nuke to their mothership destroyed them. In hindsight, none of that fighting was even remotely necessary, they could have immediately launched that nuke through the portal without the Avengers even being there, because once the nuke blows up the mothership everyone dies instantly... This trope legitimately ruins the entire fight and makes Nick Fury's efforts to try and stop the nuke look kinda stupid. If the rest of the soldiers stayed alive and had to actually be dealt with by the Avengers, then this problem just wouldn't exist.

David Bodor

depends on the god to be honest.

YukoValis

To the greater galaxy, the Chitauri are weaklings. But to the level the Earth is at, they are very much a threat. That's how you're supposed to look at it. It's all relative.

John Gonzales

Right, which is kinda the problem. Avengers portrays them as being this apocalyptic threat, but they're rather laughable all-in all. Rocket is 100% correct. This weakness makes them look pathetic in hindsight.

David Bodor

Didn't Rocket laugh about how the Chitauri were one of the weakest armies in the galaxy precisely because of that reason

InDstructR

In His image, but not with His divinity

Kap

Fair point. Counterpoint - God made us in his own image.

David Bodor

It's shown here and said in spider-man homecoming that the chitauri are a combination of biological and technological, so it makes sense. Besides, it just makes things easier

Loki

The idea that God doesn't care because we are like ants to Him, is disrespectful to God. The claim is putting God on a human level of perception and understanding, ignoring the fact that God is omnipotent and is aware of us at all times. The biggest misconception atheists have is that God is just like us.

Kap

My only gripe with this movie is that it has the trope where all the aliens just die the moment the mothership is destroyed...like, why even include it? Couldn't they have just mopped up the stragglers? It taints the movie and the fight a lot.

David Bodor

Ridiculous critique from someone who has put no thought into what can actually be included in a 2.5 hour film which needs to be understood and enjoyed by people who have never read any of the comics, while still accommodating the different power levels of the protagonists (showing how unaugmented but skilled humans can contribute as much as The Hulk and Thor)

Toasted Toad

Honestly, that might actually make more sense. The big difference is in how these interpretations effect Bruce's character. Your interpretation implies that Bruce is more stable now than my interpretation implies, and I think either could be valid given the events of future movies.

Matt Clark

I always figured the reason he was out of control was because the change was triggered by the scepter. It was feeding into the negative emotions of everybody in the room and controlled Bruce enough that he grabbed it without knowing.

Joseph Van Noort

Hulk and Iron man bromance is also one my fav parts of this franchise. They have the typical best friend interactions of doing fun shenanigans that only they understand as inside jokes. Keep in mind that shenanigans are on a.... Let us say a different scale when it is two mega genius super heroes.

Azi

One of the things I love about Ironman is that every movie has a new suit, and each one has upgrades to handle things that he had trouble with previously. For Example, the reason his suit was able to absorb Thor's electricity in this film, is because he had problems with being overloaded by Whiplash in Ironman 2, so he upgraded to solve that problem. Edit: Also, in regards to the Hulk, my thoughts on it were that when Bruce said "I'm always angry" he means he's figured out how to activate the Hulk at will, and when he does he seems much more controllable. He's still able to lose control, and that's what we saw on the helicarrier, but when he goes Hulk on purpose things are much smoother.

Matt Clark

I remember reading that too, I also remember reading that he always sneaks snacks into filming for in between shots and is constantly snacking on them.

Joseph Van Noort

Not sure if anyone brought it up, but I heard that RDJ brought rhe blueberries into the scene on his own and added them to his performance. Ruffalo’s reaction to the blueberries was I think genuine as he wasn’t expecting RDJ to have or offer them, and they just ran with it. I could be wrong though and just heard a baseless rumor

KodeShikou

I did enjoy the spectacle for TLJ when watching it in theather for the first time (I mean, my god was that hyperspace-ram scene good looking).. After, however? Probably one of the worse movies that I’ve watched, tbh…

Jorsk3n

I was debating commenting on this but the more I read it just sounds like you're more into comics than movies. There is nothing wrong with that but movies are totally different from the comics. The one main reason for this is runtime, directors are tasked with making the characters likable human characters with good backstories without making the runtime several hours. Comics can take their time explaining characters and giving really good fleshed-out characters because of the relatively cheap cost of production but movies cost millions and can really only go for 2.5 hrs before the audience gets bored and leaves. Anyway, a lot of the things you don't like are just opinions but I have to give credit where credit is due and this movie was a great film by film standards especially their use of CGI to really bring the characters to life.

Rampage melone

If you like Coulson you absolutely have to watch the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D show, it's so good. Quick google and you can see where each season fits in the MCU timeline

Cvillain626

Let's just keep politics out of this Patreon. Many people, on both sides, can't handle the topic and lose their minds acting like their lives are going to end. Happens every election. I sub to creators like alicia to escape from reality because I need some time away from work and my responsibilities to just unwind and chill.

Forerunner

Ha, "disgruntled comic fan" might be right! I don't watch a lot of movies but I love superhero comics so I'll usually check out Marvel movies and occasional other superheroes as well. If it's a movie about a character I love and they don't do the things I love about the character I tend to get dissappointed, I don't think that's so strange. On the flip side, there are a lot of adaptions I do like such as Avengers: Earht's Mightiest Heroes, Hulk (2003), Into the Spider-Verse, Netflix's Daredvil and even som MCU movies like Iron Man 1 and Captain America 3. None of those are exactly like the comics but they capture the things that I personally love about the characters involved. As for Joss Whedon, I don't know if he's a "good" writer and director or not, I don't know how to quantify that. I do know that he has a distinct style and that I personally don't like it. I rather dislike it in fact. I don't like how characters speak when he writes them. It's not a matter of quality, it's a matter of preference. But by all mean, feel free to disagree with me. Like I said, I wasn't sure if I was going to comment at all but I decided to put my thoughts out into the aether and I am at peace having said what I wanted to say.

Bob

Honestly I stopped at the nonsense about Joss Whedon. I think he is a fantastic writer and director. He might be a bit of a jackhole personality wise, but this quality in films and TV is top notch far more often than not.

YukoValis

"I couldnt read it all cuz its just a ridiculous critique that even the harshest, legitimate film critic wouldnt give this" This says it all that i should just ignore your opinion, at least the essay says more that you ever did LOL

Raven Shadow

This whole entire diatribe is coming off as a disgruntled comic fan, who didnt get the continuity he wanted filmed. That or a film major who stuck in the old ways of things. I couldnt read it all cuz its just a ridiculous critique that even the harshest, legitimate film critic wouldnt give this

bloodyshadow1

Been debating for a week now if I should comment at all because I know I'm more negative towards this movie than most and I don't actually want to be a negative person, I just am often unfortunately. But fuck it, against my better judgment here I go writing an essay. My first issue is that I really think they should have made an Ant-Man & The Wasp movie before making Avengers. They're founding members and I miss them, especially Janet. I've heard rumors that they were going to be in the movie at some point but plans changed and the Black Widow was included in the founding roster as "the woman" on the team because God forbid we have two whole women on the team. But this is an issue less with the movie and more with the planning of rhe series I suppose. An issue I have with the movie itself is Joss Whedon's writing, especially dialogue. Even before I knew he's a creep I disliked his writing and I can feel it all throughout this movie. Whedon's humor keeps worming its way into characters' mouths, characters sometimes talk less like themselves and more like mr. Whedon. It feels like this movie went some way towards smoothing the characters' edges and homogenizing them somewhat. I also feel like Whedon's biases make themselves known as well, there's a lot of Iron Man jerking and Captain America gets to be cool in like one scene. Let's talk about Cap. This movie has a lot of "hyuck hyuck, Steve is old and doesn't know anything" which, sure, you can do that but I feel like it makes the character come of as lame, at least when he doesn't get to fire back at some point. It gets old, no pun intended. He's also kind of strangely weak, his shield throw bounces of Thor and Iron Man with little more than an annoyed reaction from the two. Cap's power Level is all over the place in comics and other adaptions but surely in a team up movie he can be made as powerful as his peers, I don't think it wouldn't contradict his own movie. He struggles to fight some goons with guns on the helicarrier ffs, an action set piece where most of his skill set is made useless, it didn't have to be written that way either. Only cool things Steve gets to do is bark some orders at a policeman and his fellow Avengers. Also his costume kinda sucks, it feels like it's halfway between a comics costume and a modern movie costume and both aspects suffer, wish they'd picked a lane and stuck to it, if you're going to be closer to the comics you should do the scale mail, let the stripes go all the way around the waist, remove the extra flourish stripes and put som proper wings on the cowl. Go hard or go home. How about Black Widow, she gets to be cool at least. The Loki interrogation is genuinely peak. Like, I'm not entirely negative about this movie, I recognize that there are great parts. However... I'm not a big fan of having the Widow running around fighting aliens on the ground. I feel like she's above that, her skill set is less in fighting goons and more in espionage first and foremost (which she does get to show off) and if she finds herself in a fight she should excel at finding weak points and applying pressure which she kinda gets to do? She gets to ride an alien scooter up to the top of the tower and stick the scepter in the CGI light, I guess that's something. We also gets hints about her dark past in this movie. I've realized that the first time I saw these movies I was filling in a lot of blanks with my comics knowledge, they really don't give you much in the movies. I'm honestly of the opinion that Widow and Hawkeye should have been villains in some movie before Avengers (maybe Iron Man 2, would have been an improvement I think), like they were in the comics. Speaking of Hawkeye, he feels like a victim of limited runtime. He spends half the movie brain controlled and even after there's just not enough space to really show him off. He's also weirdly wooden and stiff compared to his comics which is weird because most characters are joking more not less. Comics Hawkeye talks shit all the time. Also, he's visually uninteresting, I wish he had his purple costume and mask, Hulk used to call Hawkeye "purple man" when they were Defenders together. Speaking of the big green elephant... I am so torn on Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. I know you have issues with Norton's face, I have issues with Ruffalo's voice; I think he has a terrible, droning way of speaking that makes me wish he'd shut up every time he says something. Actually, one exception and in my mind the best Banner scene in the movie is the "STOP LYING TO ME" scene, that's peak. I am however a bit bothered by how confident and secure Bruce seems, it feels like we're missing a movie or two or ten of how he came to be this way. It took several decades if monthly publication for comics Bruce to get anywhere this Bruce. And to this day I have no idea what "I'm always angry" is supposed to mean. Why is the Hulk cooperating with the other Avengers? Does he understand who they are? He hardly speaks and never to the other heroes, only to Loki. Last time he was out before the finale he was trying to kill rhe Black Widow, who does he think she is now? I feel like the Hulk's character is very contrived by the end. Well at least he gets to do cool things and he's still voiced by Lou. I already mentioned the Iron Man jerking but I guess there's not much more to say. Tony already spoke a bit like a Whedon character so it's not jarring in the same way, although "I have a plan: attack" makes me cringe every time. Tony's self sacrifice at the climax is probably the second best scene after the Loki interrogation. Oh yeah, Thor is in this movie too I guess. He's mostly fine I guess, he has a couple of Whedon jokes but otherwise he's recognizably the same character he was in his own movie although I wonder why they made a big deal of destroying the bifrost if he was just gonna come back to Earth anyways. Thor also kinda invalidates the other heroes a bit when he kills like a hundred aliens with one big lightning, makes you wonder why he didn't just do that a bunch. Loki I'd say is even a bit improved from the last movie he was in. He's more evil and cruel which is how I like my Loki. Hiddleston seems more comfortable playing the character. I just wish that they hadn't done the whole chitauri thing and instead had the final confrontation be with a full power Loki with full mastery of illusions and trickery. I really hate the final battle. I think having the heroes face an army of CGI aliens with rayguns is about the most boring thing they could have possibly done. My eyes glaze over when I see the heroes punch, shoot and smash the 157th identical alien in a row. Superhero comics are so full of exciting confrontations between heroes and villains with various amazing abilities that interact in cool ways so having the villains be, effectively, dudes with guns is sooo boring. And then they all fall down dead when their mothership is blown up, like they're battle druids from the Phantom Menace. There are good things about this movie but I can't help but be disappointed by so many things and I don't know if I enjoy it beyond the concept of seeing characters I like team up which was a novelty at the time. I suppose I'm spoiled by comparison, I have read so many comics and seen cartoons and played games where the same concept is just done better. Makes it harder to like this movie. Oh well, I've been negative enough for this time. I hope I don't come off as wanting other people to not like this movie, I mostly just want to share my thoughts. You do you.

Bob

It's why I love her Star Wars reactions. She has no preconceived notions, and so far she's loved ever SW movie. Even TLJ. She agrees that the sequels so far have some weak writing, but overall she enjoys them. People are far too focused on tearing movies apart looking for flaws. Just try and enjoy the spectacle first.

Anzac-A1

Some of them have already been taken away, and more in the near future.

Toasted Toad

For me, Avengers is a 10. Absolutely no question. As good as Iron Man was, the final boss fight was tedious. Avengers had high quality throughout, and the final fight was incredibly choreographed and involving.

Toasted Toad

Trivia: at 1:32:48 in this video, when Tony and Banner are chatting through the transparent screen, if you look closely during shots from Banner's side, you can see that his reflection in the screen *isn't Banner, it's Hulk*.

Silvia Dragoness

Also Ellie from the Last of Us but to me she is and will allways be Gretchen Grundler from Recess.

Seth

its a little sad that you're going out of your way to whine and cry on almost every comment mentioning Mark Ruffalo

Vegvisir92

man experiences for watching these movies are different for real. one of the most obvious lines i've ever said, honestly. but it's amazing to see someone that doesn't Know the Deal with comic characters see stuff happen in movies. for example when fury was shot i rolled my eyes when i first saw that because "yeah, right, Nick Fury went out like that. sure." meanwhile, Alicia doesn't Know! it's fun to see!

Daniel Siegfried

To answer your question about the Blue Berries. RDJ was hiding food on stage to snack on. And he shares it with his cast members while shooting

Belrevan

I want to be clear I'm very glad you're enjoying the hulk as a character. But, I very much don't like Ruffalo at all in this role. Banner is a tortured man who has lived with knowing he created a monster who has done the unthinkable to countless people. And the Hulk hates Banner above all else. That's a tortured existence. And Ruffalo is too nice a guy, yeah he's a good actor, but neither he nor his script made me feel threatened or that he was actually tortured at all. Fun fact in the 1970's tv adaptation for the hulk series the song that played you out every episode was "The Lonely Man".

Mystchevious

As a South African, I agree with Alicia. She makes good point

Belrevan

Just for the FYI, Robert brought those blue berries to snack on and it was completely unscripted, he hid them all around the set which is why Mark got surprised when he offered him a blue berry.

Sinsinchi Bomba

FUN FACT: Do you recognize the waitress they zoomed in on when you were talking about salads? That's Ashley Johnson, of Last of Us (Ellie) & Critical Role/Vox Machina (Pike) fame! She was a much more important character originally, and has a BUNCH of cut scenes showing the perspectives of the normal civilians in NYC during all this. She's still in that bank cap busts into, and then the news later, but she was at one point planned to be the new romantic interest for Captain America, but they changed directions later. but on the plus side, that left her time to play with a group of nerdy-ass voice actors and become a part of what would eventually be critical role. as much as she was absent already, there's NO WAY she'd have had the time if she became Cap's love interest.

Aleph Sharp

Who has what rights, what actions or beliefs are normal, who gets to be human; all of it is decided by GOVERNMENT POLICY. The basic rights that many of us get to take for granted today are a very recent improvement that could easily be taken away if we don’t continue to fight for them.

unknown organism

Bro..I swear everytime alicia has started watching a movie or series..theres trailers or announcements that be happening right after for the same series.

Jae

Fun fact, whenever Tony had the blueberries, that wasn't even scripted. RDJ hid snacks all around set for when he got hungry, and basically improv'd that bit with them.

MaxRenRez

I honestly think ruffalo was pretty bad in the mcu and hes really dumb in general if you listen to him talk outside of movies

Charlie baker

Worse infintely worse

Charlie baker

Nah

Charlie baker

Think caps costumes got way worse past his original movie tbh

Thanos being red gets fixed, the CGI gets better...much better Also, no, Antman does not go up his ass, that is just a meme

EthanEverhart

So if it makes you feel any better, Coulson does come back in Agents of Shield. It's basically been confirmed that Coulson will never return to the MCU as his death served it's purpose for the Avengers and bringing him back would defeat his purpose as a martyr.

EthanEverhart

i love mark as banner, he does such a good job. you will LOVE the movies inbetween avengers 2 and 3. also idk how much you are planning to watch, as after avengers 2 the single movies per character get to be alot.

STAWP MAKING FUN OF EDDIE NORTON

Fox-Man the Wise

I don't do spoliers but I like to give Context for people who weren't around at the time the movie aired . According to additonal Context from the Writers and Directors , Loki was tortured before the start of the movie which is why he looks brused with dark circles around his eyes and flinches when the Chatari touch him . The Spear also seems to mess with the mental state, increase mental instablilty and influence anyone around it , coupled with its mind control abilty , Loki's has extreame resistance to mental manipulation and mind control , but its likely the staff was influencing his mental instability as in in the movie Thor , his eyes were bright Green , while in this movie like his victims his eyes where Blue . Judging by how he behaves at the end of the movie , The Hulks ' Puny God ' Scene likely helped him the same way as Hawkeye ,when Natasha hit him in the head , I think its really understated how dangerous the Staff is as an item. What i appreiate about marvel movies are that things aren't always spelled out and left for the auidence to figure out after the fact . To Quote Thor ' Who Controls the Would be King ' only for Loki to hesitate and deflect as if hes trying not to think about it .

Noodlecat

One of the many spin-off non-canon Avengers cartoons that came out after this movie made a very cool justification as to why The Hulk would team with the Avengers, that being that in Bruce’s mind palace the Hulk and he would make a deal, that Bruce would allow Hulk control as long as he in return would work with the Avengers.

Ethan

by the way the blue berries was complete improve RDJ hide them on set no one knew but him lol

Genesis Sanosuke

so Robert Downey jr would hide food arounds and despite the crews best effort to find all his stashes he managed to keep some food in places. so anytime we see him eating or drinking its ad libbed into the scene and the other actors and actresses got used to it and joined in when offered

dan1023ghi

2:39:26 - Hey Look! Its Ashley Johnson, the voice of Pike from Vox Machina! Oh! there she is again at 2:53:34

Fobbles

FYI. The lady at the end on the news who says “captain America saved me”…. That’s Pike from Vox Machina

Lythr0_Nax

Oh yeah his mental state was unsettled by the spear, not necessarily due to touching it, but you see how everyone was acting a little out of character shows the spear was messing with them. Ofc the shock threw them out of it apart from Bruce who's mental defences were down enough for the shock to loosen his grip on the hulk and allow the transformation. Also why the hulk was also more unstable I'd say too due to the spear influencing him inside banner before the transformation

The_Spud_Player

Oh, also also: Mark Ruffalo did the mocap for the Hulk which is why the hulk looks different than in the first movie!.

The_Spud_Player

2:50:00 - ur best is on point a ton, gotta accept the teasing or us smooth brains won't survive

Easy Mode - A.I

Opinion 2: Ruffalo may or may not be a better actor than Norton, but he is nicer to look at which gives an appearance of better acting. Not saying he's more attractive but purely aesthetically he has smoother features which are less jarring.

The_Spud_Player

Opinion: Edward Norton is a good actor, and not objectively that much worse than Ruffalo, but boy did he not show his acting chops in the Hulk movie as much as some of his other movies.

The_Spud_Player

Yeah this was definitely a rough early prototype of Thanos, man did the CGI improve lmao

Lewd Angel

A Highschool Musical reaction would be so fun

Bruh_ve

I love that hulk smash on loki

SoL

With 244 comments, you've got too many to read, but 1) Robert Downey Jr. Did hide snacks around the set, so the surprise from Mark Ruffalo is real, and yes he was really eating them. 2) The big takeaway from the fight between cap an tony is "Tony will never make the sacrifice play" which he does with the nuke, and "The only thing special about cap came in a bottle", to which Caps main contribution was leadership for both the avengers and with law enforcement. 3) This was cool to rewatch, I forgot they were hinting at Thanos with his comic book motivation in "courting death" at this time in the series.

REI

There’s a show called Marvel agents of shield that follows Agent Coulsen RIP and shields work outside the avengers and there’s an older animated movie called planet hulk which is one of my favourite animated movies of all time and it’s more hulk focussed than banner

The_Sandman

A thing about the blueberries that wasn't scripted Robert Downey snuck and has been sneaking snacks into set for marvel so Ruffo's face was genuine confusion

beanz

also, on the helicarrier Baner/Hulk was pishicaly harmed during the human form, wich makes Hulk mutch more violent as he only seeks to self preserve.

Eric

ma'am.. no spoilers just basic comic knowledge Mjolnir will literally travel UNIVERSES if Thor calls, forget building floors.

Robert Traeger

Puny God.

Silver Raven

I always headcanoned that the Spear gives off radiation and when he touched it kinda induced his transformation and he has less control. As opposed to later when he transforms on purpose.

I figured the big difference between Hulk on the helicarrier and Hulk in the city is basically directed vs undirected anger. Right before the big battle in the Norton film, Bruce makes the suggestion that while they can't control the Hulk, they MIGHT be able to at least aim it. When he controls the transformation at the end of the movie he intentionally allows the Hulk to come out with a clear goal in mind as he does it - stop the monsters attacking the city - as well as a very clear idea of who his friends are. On the helicarrier he was caught completely by surprise and it was an immediate danger that triggered the transformation, and thus nothing to "aim" him at. So the Hulk proceeded to just rage against anything that was right in front of him. Throw on the fact that immediately before that all of them were arguing and he was feeling a LOT of strong emotions about everyone in the room - definitely not all positive - and he also probably wasn't in a position to do the "Friends, not Smashy Things" emotional prep. Every time I rewatch these shows I wish that we could've just gotten The Huffalo in the Hulk movie. In general I think the film was good, it was mostly just Norton's DGAF performance that brought it down (I assume he just wasn't into it given he's been a solid actor in other things). If we'd gotten THIS Hulk in that movie I think both the movie and character would have been far more well-received than they initially were.

I never noticed Ashley Johnson in this movie

As someone who lived in NYC for years, this movie hits close to home.

masteroftheassassins

To explain the blueberry scene Robert downy jr had work a lot of hours for this film so he didn’t have time to eat so he would hide snacks throughout the set and just start eating the blueberries were one of them that made it on film

James Fernandez

1:29:00 yeah Bruce was confused about being offered food because it was never in the script. One fun fact about the mcu is that RDJ was know to always be snacking on something to the point he would start hiding snacks of set and pull them out during filming. So I about guarantee that was one of RDJs stashes he pulled out during this take

Nightmareman99

Dont get me wrong i LOVE edward norton in some films.... but hulk was not one of them 🤣

Bboyblock .

If i remember correctly, it's said that Tony's Blue Berryes scene is actually improvised, the dialogues are all script, but he just grabbed a bag of blueberries from the food section at the shooting place and played the scene while doing eating and offering in true Tonys fashion, im pretty sure that's why the looks are of genuine confusion when he offers them some

josue vargas

Damn shame about Coulson dying In a completed unrelated story I heard Tahiti is nice this time of year

Regarding Coulson's death, this is a Joss Whedon film. He likes to kill off liked characters in the right moment to illicit a reaction from the audience. It wasn't just you, a lot of people really liked his character. The Shwarma comment was supposedly adlib by RDJ. After filming had concluded and they were in post production, they realized they needed to film a scene of them eating shawarma for the post-credit scene. Personal Fun Fact: I was so excited to see the Avengers, I was actually going to watch it on a Friday night, May 5th, 2012. Unfortunately, my appendix decided to inflame that morning. I was down for a week before I finally got to go to the theaters to watch the film.

This is going to be a long post, it's my commentary to Alicia's reaction; 12:50 I loved HIMYM! Barney was my favourite. And yes, I know the actress as Robin too, nothing else 😅 15:10 I didn't recognize Hawkeye either when he shows up in Thor. Granted I didn't know anything about Marvel before watching the MCU. 17:55 I love TITANIUM! Don't be sorry, please do continue singing. 🥰 26:35 Nick Fury's superpower is that he is a BADASS!!! 59:10 That gremlin-ass laugh at Azu's expense 🤣 1:41:17 Black Widow is master of her craft of manipulating your feelings. We even see her do that exact same thing with the Russian mob earlier in the movie, and we still fall for it! 2:33:51 Yep, you watching LotR films came in handy. 😂 2:41:55 Hulk just ragdolling Loki is definitely one of my most favorite scenes of the whole MCU 🤣🤣🤣 3:02:03 You forgot Captain America 😅

V_VMat

For those whose confused, she’s the blond girl on news at the end

Pelg_Paladin

the amount of ICanFixHim-opium Alicia is huffing about Loki secretly being a nice guy in this movie is hilarious

Ellerian

For me, the original Iron Man and the first Avengers movies have a relationship a lot like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight; Both Iron Man and Batman Begins are my favorites of their respective sets because they set the tone and enabled the rest of the movies to even happen, but I also kinda think Avengers and The Dark Knight are all-around better made movies because they learned from their missteps and corrected most of them (I also feel like the studios really let them cook without constraints since they'd established themselves as pretty much guaranteed successes).

Rainet

The scenes with Tony eating snacks and offering them to other actors was legit and not scripted. He just liked to snack on set and the others just went along with it.

The part with the blue berries, Robert Downy Jr. has a bag of blue berries on him that he just decided to bring on set. He actually liked to hide snacks all over set. Banner looking confused about the bag is because that's not scripted, Robert just offered him a blueberry and Mark just went with it.

So before this movie came out, all i knew about the avengers came from me being a spider-man fan. So basically all I knew was that whenever Spider-Man had some huge problem to deal with that he didn't think he'd manage, he'd try calling the avengers, only for them to be not around 99% of the time and leave Spider-Man to have to deal with whatever hell on earth was going on in NYC. After this movie came out I understood that 'Oh ok, the Avengers are off dealing with some world ending threat. Ok. BUT WHOSE GONNA SAVE ME FROM A MUGGER!?"

Jacob Goodheart

Villain Trivia: 1. Loki was the first super villain the Avengers faced in the comics. In the comics however, he showed up without an army of aliens or the Cosmic Cube/Tesseract. 2. The Chitauri are an alien race invented for the Ultimate Marvel Universe and fought the Ultimates (a grittier, more modern interpretation of the Avengers). 3. That is indeed Thanos the Mad Titan at the end. Him smiling about fighting the Avengers would "to court death" I'd an homage to how in the comics Thanos was literally in love with (Mistress) Death. I'll have more to say on Thanos in later movies.

BakaSama

no. due to her ranking Captain America as an 8 and it being below Avengers. Iron Man, Captain America and Avengers all stand at an 8/10 but in a set order due to most liked as she described it.

Alicia’s Marvel Ratings Iron Man - 8/10 Avengers - 8/10 Captain America First Avenger - 8/10 Iron Man 2 - 7.5/10 Thor - 7/10 Incredible Hulk - 4/10

Broford

Alicia, if only you could've known. Your excitement going into this movie, 'tis but a taste of the palpable anticipation that we all felt when this movie was announced, when the tickets sold out, and when we all finally sat down to watch it. For many, this was years and years of wait for something like this to finally happen, and boy did it deliver. That's one thing I miss about the MCU's previously consistent quality. I wish I could go back into each of those crowds when I was watching these movies and re-experience these for the first time, between the applause, the gasps, the waves of laughter, and the sometimes audible crying. There are definitely better movies to come but The Avengers will always be special. It was the first of its kind.

In the original version of the scene in the lab, the blueberries weren't part of the script. RDJ took them into the scene from off the set.

From what I've seen, a lot of Rey toys were made. The problem is that they didn't sell much, leaving the stores with tons of unsold Rey merchandise and losing them a lot of money. This is why less Rey toys got made after that.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

The thing about the blueberries was improvise by RDJ he brought all kind of snacks during filming and when he offered some to Mark it was all improv the look of confusion was all real 😂

Alex

10:30 for movie start

Dekkarr

Robert liked to carry food around when filming

Kyle Smilowski

Another improvised line was that man is playing galiga and they loved it so much they put it in

Zee Grog

It's canon in the comic books that Bruce's dad beat him when he was a kid, so he had another personality that protected Bruce in those moments. That other personality manifests in his adult life as the Hulk.

Sam Swift

Someone else might've said this already, but that scene with Tony and the blueberries wasn't in the script. It just became part of the scene because the actor for Tony hid snacks around the set for himself to snack on and he just midway through shooting that scene started munchin on them and adlibbed it into the scene. Thats why Banner seemed so confused. Because the actor wasn't expecting it. That's actually one of the best parts of Robert Downey Jr as Tony. He constantly adlibs his lines, and because he started doing that and it worked so well, most if not all of the other actors also adlib their lines. They aren't even given a full script if I'm not mistaken. Their just given enough of an idea of how the scene should play out, and specific information that needs to be said and work from there. Thats what I've heard anyway.

DrOverbuild8363

fyi Alicia, you listed Iron Man, Avengers, Thor, Iron Man 2 and Hulk in your movie ranking at the end. You just missed Captain America

Truthfully I agree and I think her message was somewhat necessary, but I think further mentioning it in the comments is unnecessary though. It's just asking for people to further respond.

Matthew Williams

Forgot the ?/10 but I’d assume it would be a 7.5/10 given that iron ma. Was an 8 and this is your second favorite and your previous second favorite was also a 7.5/10

Emperor Moist

Sadly it suffered immensely from an ill timed release (the reasoning behind which would be a spoiler) and bad writing.

Matthew Williams

Except for with Bruce, Agent Coulson and Banner had no actual interaction at all and so he had zero impetus for caring, but his motivation comes more from his concern for Tony and Natasha to a much smaller degree.

Matthew Williams

Yeah early concept Thanos was a bit off.

Matthew Williams

2:50:29 Your read on The Hulk is 100% correct. It's not something brought up or relevant in any future MCU movies and I don't believe you plan on watching the Ang Lee 2003 Hulk movie. So, I feel slightly ok sharing this, in the comics The Hulk is a separate alter (undiagnosed D.I.D) that Bruce Banner developed due to the physical and mental abuse he suffered during his childhood and the trauma of which caused the creation of The Hulk as a separate identity inside Bruce which manifested as a way for him to cope. The Hulk was suppressed until the gamma accident which gave The Hulk a way to physically manifest into the big green rage monster we know and love.

This was filmed in Cleveland for a lot of the New York scenes. Since i live there, walking through downtown after a baseball game and seeing cars flipped over and streets blocked off was so sick. I’ve never seen that before, especially being in Cleveland all my life😂

Joe Vocaire

One thing I'd want you to remember is that Coulson said that they needed the push, a reason to band together. So while I'm sure it is justified to be upset at Fury for tricking them with the bloodied cards, it was also respecting Coulson's last wish.

YukoValis

I'd highly recommend Agents of Shield. Not necessarily to react to, I know you're schedule is busy already, but maybe even if it's your own time. It's a great show that's kind of canon to the MCU for the first few seasons then it diverges

Curtis Murphy

its crazy people get political in your comments guys chill this is just some chill content sit and enjoy

Flip Flop

Robert Downey Jr was known to hide bags of snacks around set for him to snack on later and they couldn't stop him. So Mark Ruffalo's surprise was probably real

Alex Pinals

In Banners first change to the Hulk it was from pain and fear this caused the Hulk to lash out, his second change was from Banner just letting him out. Made for a much calmer Hulk.

John D

She does have her own movie called Black Widow

Emperor Moist

Love your pfp. Fugtrup is one heck of an artist. Also, "bullet-proof" doesn't really exist. Even vests are considered "bullet resistant", with the plates placed inside being rated based on what caliber or type of ammo they can reliably stop. And Jets generally don't fire dinky little bullets. That Jet in particular was likely an F-35B, which housed and fired a Gau-22 gatling gun, which fires 25mm rounds at 3300 rounds per minute. For people using the imperial system, each one of those rounds is an inch in diameter. 100 caliber rounds. 27 and a half every second. Shield at least tried to take Hulk down. You have to give them that.

N00B

Just to put it here without the fluff around it. No, Ant Man does not go up anyone's ass 🤣

Martin E Melcher

Ant-man going up Thanos’s ass is a joke. It’s something that everybody was joking about as a way to defeat Thanos because nobody could figure out how to defeat Thanos, but it was a joke. Nobody ever actually considered sending him up his ass.

Daisy Azuras

Jumping out of a helicopter and surviving isn't that far fetched - my grandfather, a captain in the Vietnam war did so. Granted, he fractured his shoulder in the process.

T̴H̷E̴ ̷B̷E̶E̶K̸E̶E̸P̷E̶R̷

I said it in the Incredible Hulk comments, but it's relevant again. The Savage Hulk personality isn't really about destruction. It's Bruce's defense mechanism to get him away from harm. He protects Bruce, yes, but he also protects us from what Bruce, one of the smartest men on the planet, could really do if he was backed into a corner with no escape.

DRedd

Being fair, fence-sitting is exclusively in a situation where there is no middle ground or compromise, hence the fence. So fence-sitting is indeed bad, but it's also not the same as refusing to pick a side for situations where making a decision isn't strictly necessary and there are more than two options.

Quinton Macejkovic

not alicia literally being luffy when it comes to nicknames.

Gavin Thomas

In the scene where they are arguing in the lab after Natasha speaks with Loki, the staff was amplifying their anger and frustration.

Alex Lavigne

lets goooo phase 1 is in the books so glad you're enjoying it and pretty cool that you like The Hulk a little more

Ronix

tbh I think you'll end up liking Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton

TLKDesu

Robert Downey Jr was known for hiding snacks all over the movie set. It got to the point where they just let him have them.

UndeadNovaKing 0

Banner is better in this movie and the stuff surrounding him but at the expense of the Hulk. Also the hulks body design was so much better in his movie, I understand changing the face for a new actor but the body looks weaker and less detailed.

Gamer Kane

Oh gee I never registered that she does have to care more about American things since she’s going to marry one

Ranginald Vagel

Another part I think is the choice of people speaking to them. Just like Banner gets agitated when he's referred to as The Hulk, Hulk gets absolutely pissed at being called Banner. The first person as far as the MCU goes to call Hulk "Hulk", is Cap. And as seen, he respects and listens to him. Whereas on the Helicarrier, both Thor and BW call him Bruce and/or Banner during and after the transformation

Kamvex

Oh shit, Alicia's opinion of Hulk in this movie just unlocked a memory: after this movie came out, there was actually chatter of a 2nd MCU Hulk movie, they had talks with Universal and everything, because Ruffalo's Banner was so popular. Unfortunately (and this isn't a spoiler, she just needs to look at the list of movies to see this), that just...never happened.

hemahemahema

Especially the bit about Ant-Man going up Thanos's derrière, I can't believe she got spoiled that hard.

hemahemahema

Btw Robert Downey Jr hid snacks all over the set cause he would get hungry The blue berry scene is improve but they just kept it in cause it was funny

Jaffar Black Fang

Fun Fact: RDJ is a notorious snacker and is always sneaking food onto sets. The blueberries were his and he rolled them into a prop in the scene as improv.

Wil DeYoung

I can’t wait until you watch the next avengers movie

Tyler Tatom

2:22:45 Hey look! It's claimed actress Ashley Johnson (Pyke from critical role)

Humbertowtf

Genuinely one of the first time I've seen a reactor caring about Banner/Hulk. Super heartwarming, thank you.

Thief

The blueberries weren’t in the script. Robert Downey Jr. has an issue where he needs to snack so he made that part of his character’s thing that he’s always snacking on stuff if you pay attention to all the movies you’ll notice that half the time he’ll be snacking on something during the scene and all the characters around him Will seem a little off on his snacking. That’s because they weren’t aware that he was going to be doing that it was an improv basically Robert Downey Jr. improv a lot of the Marvel movies.

Daisy Azuras

“I don’t want to sound stupid” While being spot on about 2 phases ahead. Alicia’s media literacy is uncanny.

They only wanted to draw hulks attention away to lower casualities with the jet scene they know very well they cant take him down. He would have wrecked the ship in no time at all if they kept fighting inside of it

Karatsuki

When Tony was eating the blueberries Downey wasn't actually supposed to have those he kept sneaking snack in from off set and eating during shoots. so when banner was offered it it wasn't in the script XD

WindWarriorPlays

fun fact, it was said in an interview that Robert Downey Jr. just brought the blueberries to the Set and it made the scene look much more natural so they kept it. (at least if i remember right) Banners reaction to the offer was real confusion.

Ryzsard

It's interesting if nothing else. The director had a unique interpretation of what a comic book movie is, especially in edits and transitions. Alittle long and slow, but it's alright

Rowdeemunkee

Mark Ruffalo is an amazing Hulk no doubt about it. Fun fact all the hulk facial effect were all done based off of Ruffalos facial features they mapped his face for all hulk movements

WindWarriorPlays

I'm just here to point out that Ashely Johnson, voice of Ellie from last of us and Critical role fame is in the interviews at the end, and had a deleted scene with Captain America.

Rowdeemunkee

If you want another Hulk movie there is one from 2003, alot of people didn't like it for the CGI but i think is the best one in story and understanding the character.

Random Guy

So here's the "complete the sentence" exercise the movie gave us: It's okay, boss. This was never gonna work, if they didn't have something to ______. I like to say I'd have got it, but I only did because a guy sitting near me in the cinema got it and said it. (It starts with the only letter left on Stark Tower, and rhymes with 'Stonehenge')

hemahemahema

2:53:26, the Woman who gets Interviewed, is the Player/VA for Pike in Vox Machina, Ashley Johnson

Birdigerbird

Random fact about me, I got to see an early screening of this film cause my friends mom got tickets for her whole family but she and one of his brothers couldn't make it so me and my brother got the spots instead. (I played pickleball with him yesterday we are still friends) She got tickets from her job I should specify it's not like they were so wealthy they could just buy tickets to a early screening of the movie.

Speed1247

One of my favorite lines from someone that dissected this movie is: "This isn't primarily an Action movie. It's a Character Piece." Right before Avengers 2, whether as a reaction or not, you should check out a series called "Really That Good" and watch The Avengers episode. It's so so good. Also, yeah, RDJ is always hungry on set. So he hides snacks all over the place. He quite literally picked up those blueberries out of frame somewhere and started eating them during the take and told NO ONE!

Kamvex

Dr Strange is coming. It is 8 movies away for you at the beginning of Phase 3. With this movie you just finished Phase 1 of the MCU. Dr Strange is another one that is high on my list. I think I just enjoy the origin stories the most.

Vik Persson

btw the lady on TV saying "captain America saved my life" at the end of the fight, that's Ashley Johnson who plays Pike Trickfoot on Critical Role/Legend of Vox Machina

Every comment about the hulk you've made is damn near spot on. You really need to see the first hulk (2003) movie which explains Burce's banners life more than what the (2008) movie did.

Kalla

Ah yes, I forgot Ashely Johnson had a cameo in this. The blond lady who said Cap saved her life. Ya'll might know her better as "Pike Trickfoot", of Vox Machina.

Pockets

Man nothing beats the hype going into this movie I remember back in the day the speculation and hype people had and man did the movie blow everyone away

Jaffar Black Fang

I can't believe just how well this holds up cgi wise.

Gildarts1#fan

alicia made the same comment on agent hills eyes that don did back when he watched this

granite 2004

Shit, people might have even preferred Norton's writing for that movie to his performance.

hemahemahema

I always assumed it was intention. Banner never wanted to turn on the Helicarrier and with it being a year since his last transformation, and with the nature of this one it sent Hulk into a rage

iAmPimmiCue

He also offers them to mark when he gets an answer right like one would give a treat to a dog, which is just great as the reaction comes off as Banner realizing he's being rewarded

Can you imagine Edward Norton in this movie as the Hulk? Like I try to and then I shudder. lol

YukoValis

eh it is an after credits thing. Barely worth a worry. Time will make it better. Then worse.. then better. lol

YukoValis

Yeah think of it as going to the toilet. If it's done intentionally, most people can finish the process clean and tidy. If something makes you go? Yeah that's going be a mess.

hemahemahema

Haven't seen the reaction yet but I thought I should mention again that now is a great time to check out Daredevil as well. It's just a suggestion, you don't have to have seen it to understand the rest of the movies but I really love the show and I think you would love it too.

Bob

A lot of it came down to Ike Perlmutter's line of thinking, which had actual impact on the movies in Phase 2, but it would be spoiler to talk about them now...

hemahemahema

So called "free thinkers": dID yOu KnOW Rdj HId tHe BLuEberRies

Kap

Everybody loved Edward Norton's Hulk for everything but Edward Norton

JohnnyJohnJonJoe

Yeah it got people jacked initially. In retrospect though...

hemahemahema

"To challenge them is to court death" I find this line so hilarious from reading the comics. It is a very different story with different motivations for the villain. I might talk about it more later down the line. I do NOT recommend anyone who hasn't seen these movies to look it up though.

YukoValis

i hate politics atm anyways im done talking about it

WindWarriorPlays

God I forgot how good this movie was

Azel !!

One thing to remember was Loki's staff. That was the cause of them arguing with each other. It also impacted the Hulk the most and why he went berserk.

YukoValis

Just because Alicia watched Fellowship recently: That shot of the Avengers arguing in that room, and the camera pans to the scepter and flips around to show them upside down framed by it, that always reminded me of Elrond's council where you see peopling arguing through the reflection on the Ring, both sends the same message I think: this object is sowing discord on its own.

hemahemahema

hell yeah

Leticia

You mentioned your nephew has never brought up Black Widow before and I'm sorry to say that this is pretty intentional. Markets for kids have rather draconian views on things and don't like when they sell to a demographic that they're not marketed to. As a result, there is very little Black Widow merchandise for kids because she's a girl, and that might make girls buy boy toys. This also applies to cartoons. A lot of popular cartoons are cancelled because they get popular with the wrong demographic. Hell, it even applies in really dumb situations. Rey from Star Wars has significantly fewer toys than the other sequel characters, even though she's the main character.

Aerowind

Something that wasn't in the movie but was in the comics was that Banner does have a sort of DPD. He grew with an extremely abusive father who tormented him and his mother. "Hulk" was a personality that developed so he could cope with that trauma. With the gamma ray incident, its the Hulk personality that can trigger the effects.

N00B

The way I see it, the difference in how hulk acts is mostly because of how the transformation happened. I mean, we even kind of saw in the last movie that voluntary transformations are "better" that one's Bruce doesn't want to happen. Think back to the end of the last movie. It ended with Bruce figuring out how to hulk out voluntarily and "aim" the anger. That's exactly what's shown here. The involuntary transformation on the helecarrier led to hulk raging at anything and everything(however, it is important to note that hulk is still kind of his own persona and never wants to hurt innocents, which is why the last movie had moments like the one where he said "leave me alone"). But Bruce's "I'm always angry" was a voluntary transformation where he could direct his rage on a certain target

xman t

Those Blueberries weren't actually supposed to be in the lab scene, Robert Downy Jr just kept hiding them all over the sets and the crew couldn't find them all. Dr. Banner's confusion at being offered one was 100% genuine XD

Swan Ronson

Yeah I'd heard he would hide snacks on set.

steve roth

w homie

HeavenlyNoomba

Re: Howard talking about Cap to Tony: (Teeny tiny spoiler) you know how in Iron Man 2 Tony hears Howard call him his greatest creation, and it was a big deal for him? Well there's a show called Agent Carter set in 1946 and Howard's in it, and there (way before Tony was born) he called Project Rebirth i.e. Captain America "The one thing I've done that brought good into this world." Really makes you wonder if he ever mentioned anything like that to Tony, because that would...explain a lot.

hemahemahema

fun fact: i heard the blueberries thing wasnt scripted - as far as i remember apparently rdj had them in his pocket and kept offering them to mark ruffalo off screen and the 'confused but took them anyway' look was very much the actor being like 'dude were mid scene right now' lmao

blorbothefrog

For the blueberries Robert Downey Jr likes snacking on set even if they won’t let him. He even hid snacks on set and would eat them in scenes. Most scenes of Tony snacking is not scripted and just RDJ having a snack

Prince of the Saiyans

Fun fact about the blueberries in the lab. RDJ actually wasn't allowed to snack but he hid them around the set and just grabbed his stash during a scene. So Banner grabbing one from Tony is actually just Ruffalo just grabbing a blueberry during a scene.

Malick Glemarr

Generally, the suits all have minor improvements that clearly go after issue previously seen. I can't get into detail without spoiling, but the speed of the suit up isn't the only example.

N00B

on top of that, he continually improves the suit based on threats he faced in his previous movie, like Whiplash's electric whips damaging the suit and making it malfunction, and in this one Thor's lightning instead charging the suit

Ellerian

About the blueberries, that's my favorite piece of trivia about this movie's production - Robert Downey Jr. hid snacks *EVERYWHERE* on set. The production team was at their wit's end trying to confiscate them all, but he kept pulling out more hidden snacks. That confused reaction wasn't scripted, it was 100% genuine because they thought they'd found all of RDJ's hidden snacks but no, he pulled one out mid-take and they all just rolled with it because they're pros.

AbsurdToastling

The blueberry thing was completely improved because Robert just hid the pack on the set and grabbed it as they were filming. Tony wasn't supposed to be snacking in the scene, so Mark and Chris keeping their composure as the scene is altered by Robert is a great acting sequence.

KeterLordFR

To be fair, I'm not here to talk politics. I'm here to see my comfort vtuber watch a magic hammer collide into a weird metal shield. Everyone wins!

Mr. Lucky

im fucking tainted man, the only thing i can think of looking at Mark Ruffalo is "does it blow?"

nick

Funfact: since ironman 1, then ironman 2 and this one, you see Tony speed up the suit-up process of the 'iron man suit' This is a cobstant in each movie, each time he upgrades the armor, it can be put and be ready for action faster and faster. This is a must concern for Tony because in iron man 1, the issue the prototype has in the cave that ends up with Yinsen having to distract the guards and sacrifice himself so tony can load up the armor. So with that in mind, he doesnt want anyone else to die because he couldnt suit up on time, so he keep upgrading the suit-up process to be more efficient and faster

Faroth

Forget politics, we ask the real questions here. What items are you willing to put on a pizza?

Bolo The Wise

Robert Downey Jr hides snacks all around set cause they kept trying to stop him from eating on set but he loves snacking 😂

Artemis

that's why Mark Ruffalo looked confused when he was offered some, yet he still took them

Not Six Raccoons in a Trench Coat

I love this movie so fucking much. As a kid I used to wake up mad early in the morning and just watch it by myself. One time I accidentally had the speakers too high and woke up my entire family lol

mykanike

the whole thing with the blueberry was not scripted, Downey kept hiding snacks all over the set to munch on cause he was snacky. The film crew kept trying to find them but he always managed to grab some when filming.

Lotan

Alicia watching Thor: "I wish Loki had a redemption arc like Thor" ... Alicia/Coma in Rogue One "I wonder if they show us how they made the Death Star", yup. The TV Shows for SW/Marvel definitely fill in some of the blanks and are every bit as worth reacting / watching as say The Boys IMO.

L Freya

Alicia is late, she fell off smh /j Also thanks for the disclaimer at the start and thanks for giving us something to keep our minds out of it.

MarakamiSG

I will not stand for Hawkeye slander. His bow has a draw weight of 250 lbs, he can fire it at machine gun speeds, can catch arrows out of the air while blind and can hit a falling drop of water from many yards away

ShreddedNinja

1:30:05 that's because (according to random YouTube comment I saw) he kept hiding snacks in the set. Him eating wasn't in the script.

Report_pyke

in the comics there are versions of Nick Fury that have a weaker version of the super soldier serum

MenacingScone

I like "how I met your mother" it's a funny show

UndeadNovaKing 0

At this point in the timeline, Doctor Strange hasn't yet become a superhero and doesn't have any power, that's why he's not here. I believe his movie takes place after the second Avengers movie.

KeterLordFR

Thanks for the escapism. I was absolutely here for the funny elf girl to squeal "YEEEES" when Tony and Pepper kissed, it puts a smile on my face

Pockets

Avengers Time come on grab your friends, Thor came in from distant lands. With Cap the soldier and Stark the playboy. The shwarma's never cold. It's Avengers time.

Craig

Oh good, then I guess a mod has to tell her to watch the Amazing Spiderman ones at some point too.

Julio Castillo

One Piece has now primed you for Marvel. Down stream plots will now begin to add up and increase the lore

Jimmy H Lam

She said in a previous reaction she has seen the Sam raimi Spiderman movies

chris johnson

This just occurred to me… but has Alicia watched all the live-action Spiderman movies? Has she watched Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 by Sam Raimi? And has she watched The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 by Marc Webb? I hope she has, I won’t say more cuz spoilers but you guys know why I’m asking this.

Julio Castillo

I really hope you get into the marvel tv shows like Daredevil and Agents of Shield

Justin Garlington

With all due respect, "fence-sitting" is not bad. Quite the contrary. Its because people funnel what people want with what they don't that the wrong people get elected. Its simply a nuanced look and you should be commended for not blindly taking sides.

N00B

Stayed up until 9:00 AM to watch "First Avenger" with you, so I'm gonna sleep now & enjoy this when I wake up, because seeing your reactions is GLORIOUS. XD

Carus Lumen

OMG I just realized they used that weird heart rate watch in the hulk movie because Norton couldn't fucking act

Jacob

Hype! Our first milestone in the journey.

Urgoslav

One thing I love about Alicia's Marvel reactions - and also makes me really scared to go into the discussions - is EVERYTHING seems to be a surprise for her. Like it didn't even occur to me she might not know Loki is the antagonist in this one. It seems she doesn't look at trailers or even posters, which is absolutely a good thing. But this also means EVERYTHING is a spoiler. We gon have to tread carefully.

hemahemahema

Let's enjoy one of the GOAT Marvel films! Lezgo!

Malick Glemarr

Bruh, I just went to visit family in Mexico, this is such a a weird way to find out the election happened.

I can't wait to see you react to the other movies they are amazing and seeing your reaction just makes them better 😊

Thank you so much Homie!!!

Uncle Urdnot

To challenge them is to court Aliciaxdeath! Okay that didn't make a lick of sense. I just wanted to work a quote in here.

hemahemahema

Alicia: Oh i'm gonna seem so stupid in the last reaction." To be fair Alicia... That's not really something new. 😂💕

RedRam-Ipsen

Thank you so much for the reaction!!!
