How to Train Your Dragon 3

Final one!! Sorry for uploading a little less over the past 2 days. I haven't been feeling the best. :D but I will keep on keeping on besties!!

Comments

The babies got me too!😭😭😭

Swendle

I would love to see you react to the tv and netflix series it expands the world so much x

Josef Hammond

IT DOESNT EVEN LOOK GOOD. IM SO MAD. THEY MADE TOOTHLESS LOOK LIKE A CAT DRAGON BUT EVERY OTHER DRAGON LOOKS LIKE AN ACTUAL DRAGON. Plus the stupid raceswap of Astrid to black for NO reason. So stupid.

Michael

Honestly, I don't really get why they're doing that. Imo it didn't need a live action adaptation, no animation movie does. The only thing it does to me is take away the legitimacy of animation as an art and I find it sad, especially since animations allows for soooo much more amazing things to happen than live action.

Bastiwen

Begone vile hell-spawn.

N00B

your name is descriptive of your comment

daemon

Hey guys I was just curious and checked they are releasing a live action movie of how to train your dragon, it's release date listed is 13th june 2025. apparently some of the voice actors are coming back for the live action.

TSP247

I disagree. While it does answer why there aren't any dragons now, it ultimately undermines the efforts of the previous 2 movies.

N00B

I think the answer is in the ending itself. "Dragons will return when the world is ready for them", so they returned after 15 years. It took Hickup that long to prepare the world for dragons.

HubertNNN

I wonder how much of this movie script was influenced by corps because after this came out Netflix announced a sequel series taking place like 1000 years in the future like modern day meeting Dragons and it bombed hard.

DarkRaveNight

I don't know if there's ever been a better wrap up to a movie series, answers why dragons don't exist now, does what's best for the dragons, and gives the answer to if they ever see each other again, which yes cause they know where to go meet them and gaurd the secret

Eric

Massive famine and natural disasters. We had a point where humanity almost went extinct right around the time where humans left africa.

Miklar Sihn

Why humans left africa?

Faroth

My big question is: Why did the dragons leave the hidden world? Something has to be going on to explain why they left for this new dangerous place. Though it might just be a natural spread thing. But it is definitely a plausible take that there was a lack of food or some other danger in the hidden world.

Miklar Sihn

I'm going off a biiiiiiiig stretch here, but if you interpret the story as any "identity" conflict, regarding race, nationality or ideology, the ending effectively answers the question of "how do we eliminate racism" with absolute segregation.

N00B

Can't wait to see Alicia start the king fu panda reactions!

Ryan Mills

You've misunderstood the point, the first movie ended idylically, the vikings after seeing a handful of dragons help them decided to throw away GENERATIONS of tradition and hatred and just accept dragons living among them, that was illogical and unrealistic but it made for a good ending. The second movie took it much more seriously to real life, people won't be turned easily (ie: Drago) and the movie showed us that there will always be those who will mistreat the dragons and use them as weapons. The third movie hammers this point home by showing us it wasn't just Drago, warlords with entire armies behind them persue the same goal and will keep doing so in the future, Hiccup is just one guy, Berkians are just one people, they can't protect every dragon out there forever, so the logical but hard choice that had to be made was to send the dragons away, until people are ready. My issue with the ending is that i kinda assumes that every dragon that ever came out of the Hidden world was either captured by the warlords or was at berk, like aren't there plenty of species that were never tamed or captured hiding out there? Without an alpha to guide them back, when will they go to the hidden world? How did every dragon just know to go there? Its a bit of a leap, but thematically, the ending fits

Lewd Angel

It's surprising to find someone that shares my views, here of all places. I feel like all the ending is doing is just setting up a new age of conflict after seperating mankind and dragons once again, despite the efforts to build a bridge between the two in the rest of the franchise. You can already see the return of mistrust in the ending.

FreedomPuppy

I may be in the minority but I hate the ending. I feel like it ruins the last two movies. The first movie ends with the village embracing dragons, the five years later the second movies ends with Hiccup and Toothless ascending to leadership roles to usher in a new age of peace and prosperity with the dragons. Yet only a year later all the dragons disappear and the world acts like they didn't exist. Because "people are bad" yet the ending of movie two was Hiccup warning the world that they could never take their dragons. So only a year of fighting and defending them and they give up? Also, why did Toothless have to stay away for like 15 years, then come back? Why then? They were separated for so long and suddenly it's okay for them to meet in secret? The ending just feels like a rushed plot twist to say "this stuff really happened in our history" when the tone of the movies was always an alternative fantasy world. I know it's a kids movie and the ending is touching, but I can't help but feel it was cheap and didn't make sense plus it went against the lessons of the previous movies. Edit: Don't get me wrong, it is a good film and a great trilogy but I feel like this is a bad ending thematically and logically, but emotionally it hits hard. If there were going to end it like this, they shouldn't have made it a choice. I think it would have been better if Hiccup was forced to seal the entrance to the hidden world like his father planned to but in order to protect the dragons from the army, rather than the world form the drsgons. Toothless could have lead them all there for safety after the island was attacked. Then it would have the same weight and the time skip would have hit harder if they spent 15 years looking for another entrance and finally reuniting. They could still have the same monologue at the end too.

Twiska Brand

Such a great trilogy. Such feelgood movies❤️❤️

Joe Vocaire

Dude, these are just 3 movies, there's only so much you can tell within that limited runtime, and with what they got.... they a told perfectly cohesive story. It's fine that you think the final message is a cop-out, I think (and a lot of people think the same) the notion that the world outside of Berk is too dangerous and prejudicious for the Dragons to inhabit is very valid, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and 3 made that notion perfectly clear and supported. So it makes perfect sense the decision to let the dragons go. Like i said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i just hope you can also see the point of view that a lot of us share about this finale.

Julio Castillo

The director took the charge because when they said the studio was making the movie, he just went full "i wont allow anyone to mess up this movie trilogy but myself if thats the case, so i would do it myself to be well done"

Faroth

Thats why hiccup said that "the people of the world isnt ready for dragons... yet" Meaning some are and some arent, and until then, is better to keep them safe or else the ones who hate dragons will keep the fight going until ends up killing them all

Faroth

Wonder what the ecological impact is on the island of having all the dragons in one space. I imagine the local water is contaminated by the dragon leavings. The local fish population has been eliminated. Hard to imagine the village is a paradise anymore since the people gave everything up for dragons who don't provide them with anything

Kap

Loved all 3 movies but hated the ending of the third it kind of feels like a cop-out, the whole message of the movies until now is living together dragons and vikings and hiccup together with toothless making that dream come true, and suddenly we throw all that away and go "nah ain't working sorry pal" Kinda BS plot wise tbh. It just felt rushed, could have been so much more fleshed out but felt kind of lazy in the end.

TheGodofCruelty

you brought a hob gobbler thats a bad omen .....checkove meet gun

Lance Ivy

I definitely think one of the things I don't like is the light fury design they basically just made a night fury but white and more feminine looking. The concept art for the light fury was so cool looking that it feels like a disappointing final design

Artemis

Oh f me hell yeah Marvel has a day now? Too bad it means The Dark World gets its own week to simmer I was hoping it’d go through that one and move on😂

Ranginald Vagel

There is a small short with xmas theme that features hiccup's and astrid's kids discovering about dragons and the ending leads to the last scene of the movie

Faroth

Fourthed

chronostorm

I hope you don’t feel like you need to push yourself, taking care of yourself should always come first. The tv series’ for this trilogy are definitely worth watching although maybe not as a reaction, it’s a lot of episodes especially if your struggling but they are still a good watch regardless of if you share it. Anyway great reaction, I’m glad to see another experience this trilogy and I enjoyed a lot of your perspectives on it.

Duelist Flame

I can Only imagine how she'll react to the animated series of this franchise. She Will LOVE IT!!!

Chris White

I Third

Zane Sardonyx

I do love how each of the villains contrast with Hiccup at various stages of his life. The Red Death's complete lack of mercy vs Hiccup's willingness to spare an enemy. Drago's use of empathy as a weapon vs Hiccup's use of it as a means of bonding. Grimmel being another weedy gadgeteer whose encounter with a Night Fury changed his entire life.

Bologna Amputation

I second this

Tico Machi

who thinks she sould watch treasure planet

LilAlphaWolf 000

Her friends are busy and she isn't feeling well, be patient.

NERD!

seems like a complete waste of time to me

Chelly

And then you see the tv show set in the modern era and how they ignore all of that

M

Where is DBZA… said you would drop it before the 26th now it’s almost December

Braeden Cook

its actually funny how Gobber is closer to having the body of Nors God than Eret is

Dennis Christian Nikolajsen

Being made by the same director who made this trilogy and from what i saw the dragons look basically 1 to 1 wonder how they’ll do that massive dragon they fight at the end though

Charlie

Remember what Night Furies were called? The Unholy offspring of lightning and death... Now we know why they gained that name initially

FlaschenJoe11

I just saw that they’re making a Live Action HTTYD movie, it doesn’t look that bad from the trailer I saw

Bsceptile1

Damn, thought I cried enough over this the 1st time I watched it, but goddamn :')

Tony

second best behind lotr for me

donald johnson

KUNG FU PANDA LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

T

Being into Valka is the most based Snotlouds ever been

Lewd Angel

The How to Train your Dragon Trilogy means so much to me since these were releasing for me while growing up. I remember crying so hard at the end of this film and feeling so grateful to have been a part of watching these when they came out.

Kayden

Alicia is water elementaling again

Michael

You are quite right I was in the middle if watching Toy Story so Pixar was on the brain

Sonithy

I think u got companies mixed up breh, this is a Dreamworks series but yes, I agree, tis a REALLY good series of films.

Demon Slayer

This is my favorite one (loved the scenes that focused on Toothless + the Light Fury) and I'm so happy you loved it. Toothless and the Light Fury's babies are called Night Lights! And their names are Dart (black and white with blue eyes), Ruffrunner (black and white with green eyes) and Pouncer (the almost all white one). Two shorts I recommend: Gift of the Night Fury (was referenced in this movie), and Homecoming (gives more context to the epilogue). Definitely hope you do The Wild Robot soon!

Kayla Ryan

As far as Pixar series goes this is def my runner up for best over all I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as we all do and can’t wait for the start of the Kung-fu panda watch through whenever that comes

Sonithy

Best trilogy ever

C. J. Ramirez

Hope you feel better soon, Alicia!

Miner49er201 .

1:35:36 If you want to see more of those babies, you should check out the Holiday Special on Hulu How to Train Your Dragon Homecoming. Also fun fact, the species name for Toothless' hybrid children is Night Lights.

Elias Cristerna

1:05:00 I legit have a friend like this. Same head shape, blonde, extremely social, not as narcissistic but otherwise exactly her. Would have dated her myself if I wasn't scared of relationships. I'm still friends with her and her boyfriend, though.

N00B

Have you seen Lilo and Stitch? If not that would be a great movie to watch for patreon.

Switchchris27

Your health comes first, rest as much as you need to!

Bologna Amputation

You *absolutely could.* Watch and learn! (Also after the events of Dragon 3, does it even matter?)

PrivateXimmy

It's somewhat sad that in a way, the villain wins, but also an incredibly good ending which feels really good. Dragons and humans can't co-exist, at least not yet, there are too many people who will abuse or use their power, or bring harm to them. It's both sad, and optimistic in a way that the message isn't that they can't exist together, it's that they can't yet, the series ending on both our main characters and their families having children and those children, who may one day create the world where they can get along, or at least continue building towards it, is just really wholesome.

IvI

Thus concludes the greatest trilogy imo. Glad you enjoyed, and if you're interested in knowing - Hiccup and Astrid's kids are named Zephyr and Nuffink, the girl and boy, respectively.

chronostorm

No its ok alicia just make sure to rest and take breaks when needed we can be patient

Drago the dragon pokemon

Because reaction channel/patreon? Seriously, I subscribe to Alicia and several others and that's basically all the comments are. Not that I don't understand it, since we're all here because we want to see our favorite reactors watch our favorite shows/movies, to share it with them, but still. There is a reason they generally either have specific place to suggest stuff (like on Discord or something), or they'll have a tier for people to do it. Just a lot people can't be pressed to figure that out.

LordTouchMe

A diamond tier vote went to Wreck it Ralph, but consensus on the same vote is that Wild Robot should follow.

N00B

Why are most comments about what to watch next?

Kaz

Exactly. And you can’t just watch all 3 movies and not watch the series. You’d be missing out on all the new characters, villains, epic battles, grand adventures. Not to mention all the new lore, character development and awesome new dragons. You know what I mean?

Hunter

For the next movie, may i suggest the wild robot from dreamworks.

Makurysa

Next you need to watch the how to train your dragon show ok Netflix

Demonsabath67

117 episodes total, she’d be done in like a month if she watched 2 every day.

Chris White

Yes!!!! 😭

JustRiver0o

don't think she has time for that one lmao (isn't it like 9 seasons? Yikes)

WillGlacier

Don't worry about being absent, we all know and understand. You still da best!!

Kenjiro talbashi

Now that you’ve watched all three HTTYD movies, you can the series. There’s Riders of Berk, then Defenders of Berk, and finally Race to the Edge. You’ll love the Dreamworks Dragons series, tons of cool new dragons and adventures

Hunter

This one I never saw because I lost most of my interest to watch movies around this time yet I still watch hour long YT videos every day lol
