⭐Dragon Ball Episodes 121-122: Watch Along & Analysis

Comments

What was amazing about Piccolo or King Piccolo was that he was thee first true villain on the show. The others were problematic no doubt, but he definitely was a game changer. Especially towards going into Z.

4Kids kinda got it in Kai when it aired on their network. It was pretty funny.

The History of Goku will be explained in DBZ Kat.. Just one more arc to go.. and every question about Goku will be anwsered.. And if 4Kids ever got a hold on DB/Z it ruines it all (because all the things with Roshi and Oolong would be cut out) and thats bad, really bad.. So never let 4Kids get a hold on DB/Z (my opinion)

R.BGames37

Yes.. you are right Kat, In DBZ there is indeed a moment a 15 minutes fight, spanes serveral episodes.

R.BGames37

So Kat, you asked in Episode 38, if there are more Androids.. and i can say YES there are.

R.BGames37

The Saga you start now ''when you read this'' is the ''Piccolo Junior Saga'' the last saga of DragonBall, after this its DragonBall Z time.. The Saga's in order are. 1: Emperor Pilaf Saga (episodes 1 - 13) 2: Tournament Saga (Episode 14 - 28) 3: Red Ribbon Army Saga (Episodes 29 - 45) 4: General Blue Saga (Episodes 46 - 57) 5: Commander Red Saga (Episode 58 - 67) 6: Fortuneteller Baba Saga (Episodes 68 - 83) 7: Tien Shinhan Saga (Episodes 84 - 101) 8: King Piccolo Saga (Episodes 102 - 122) 9: Piccolo Junior Saga (Episode 123 - 153).... And then.. its Z time..

R.BGames37

In DragonBall Z, the DragonBalls are still a major thing in the show.. BUT, they are used for something els completely.. how, what and why. cant tell you (huge spoiler on that, so yea). But there still around. Also in DBZ you will learn alot, so pay close attantion.. DragonBall Z Kai is just the major fights without the episodes in between that gives context to it, and DBZ Abridged (by Team Fourstar, is the funny take on DragonBall Z). Which would be fun to watch when you finished DBZ

R.BGames37

I would love, if you end with DragonBall Z, to fire a quiz your way Kat.. With some questions about DB/Z. to see how well you watch it..

R.BGames37

Well Kat, you talk about seeing Goku Older alot. And yes it will happen in this show, but when i wont tell you..

R.BGames37

differences between German and English Dub Ep 3: In German, Muten Roshi tried to call the eternal bird, but the bird was dead because it ate rotten cherries. He wanted to give son Goku eternal life.

the jar in with piccolo was trapped was a rice cooker. Also piccolo means small in Italian.

your comments from these latest episodes almost feels like you already know what gonna happen hehehehehe

Hopefully whether or not you actually react to the filler in either OG or Z you should still watch it on your own time particularly for Z since there will be references to filler in DBZ Abridged. Yet another reason you should react to Z not Kai since Abridged is based on Z. Yeah it’ll take longer but at least we get to savor these moments because the experience is mind blowing and you only get to experience something for the first time once. But I guess time will tell once we go to the polls.

I'm a little curious to know how much you actually know about Z? A 30 year old anime that's still relevant in pop culture is hard to avoid on the internet. I mean no ill-will by asking. I just had this question on my mind since the first episode of this series.

So yes, there are long fights that take a lot of time in Z and Super. A famous 1v1 fight in Z that is the record holder for longest 1v1 fight in anime even though it only lasts 5 minutes in anime time. There is a moment that states it may take 7mins but considering the entire 1 on 1 bout is well over 20 episodes in total and half of those are supposedly used in a 5 (or 7) minute time frame I don't think that extra bit of time makes much difference here. It is simply thought that because these fighters are fighting at levels so far beyond regular humans a lot more action can happen in those 5mins that would normally. So Piccolo is dead.......or is he. Seems like he made preparations for something, or someone to take his place. You have a few more episodes before the filler arc comes in that shows Goku training like it always does through the arcs. Remember that there are pieces of canon material spattered through these filler episodes. For instance a few glimpses of what piccolo threw up. Also there are some genuinely good episodes there that show Goku meeting people that he would never have met previously and some that may surprise you. If you don't want to watch them that is fine but if you do I wouldn't say no to it. They are fun. These are eps 127-132. It is true that the VA's for the new DBZ Kai are changed and to be honest I prefer the old ones. Even some of the ones that people say were changed for the better. Call me nostalgic or stuck in the past, but when you only get to see these characters played by these VA's over and over again for years in reruns before even the whole series was released, you just feel a little icky when new ones are brought in to take over from the old. (Ocean to Funi dub is different, They went back and redubbed old episodes after already having the VA's do all the new episodes from the 4th arc onwards so people were wanting them to go back and make it the same.) Can't wait for the next 4 episodes. You will be truly stunned at some of the lore that is gonna be dropped. Also Japanese God. Lastly, you know how you said they all need to reunite? Well..............

Even in his last moments, Piccolo's actions were that of a father. Truly Best Dad. I wonder if his legacy can fill such big daddly shoes? ;D To answer the question: Tien's Third Eye is indeed real, he's moved it, blinked with it, at times it's even looked tired. Akira Toriyama has stated that the eye gives him the power of "True Seeing" but, apparently he lost the power when he trained as a villain under Master Shen, as the power is meant to be used only for good. Akira has also gone back and forth on stating that Tien was a descendant of an alien race of Three Eyed People that settled Earth a long time ago and intermingled with humans while also saying that Tien is just a normal human who attained the Third eye through training and deep meditation. So it still up in the air on what exactly Tien is but, it's generally agreed on that alien or not he's considered an Earthling no different than Krillin or Yamcha. Yes, time is skewed in the entire series during fights. It could be explained that it's for the viewer's sake since the characters are suppose to be moving at extremely high speeds that everything is "slowed" so we can make sense of it while also giving us different points of view of other characters watching and potentially other fights happening at the same time. In reference to what you asked before - Z has a fight that is given a 5 minute time limit that takes place over 8 episodes and Super has a massive fight that's given a 48 minute time limit that lasts 34 episodes. (There is a cool video someone made that collected everything that happens and condensed it down to Real Time so the entire thing and all the points of view play out over 48 minutes.) As for voice actors differences between Z and Kai, while many characters were recast only a handful of the major characters were replaced, like Bulma and one I won't name due to spoilers. While the new cast does well, it does take getting used though, I myself prefer the original Bulma and previously unnamed character. A couple Z villains were recast as well and arguably better done in my opinion. The reason for recasting in the redub for Kai was a mix many things from people moving to new locations, lack of interest in retaking the role, in-studio drama, and dividing the roles up so Chris Sabat doesn't have to voice nearly every extra on top of his 3 main roles (A joke of mine but partially true) Regardless if you watch Z or Kai, once you reach Super the cast is the same as those from Kai. In terms of the upcoming filler arcs, I myself loved them (especially the training arc of 127-132) but, totally understand some people saying to skip them.
