Ask-Fade Updates

For a while, I've been doing Ask-Fade updates twice a week, but for now I think I’m going to start updating without a schedule to allow me to work on other art projects like Batty Roommate. I’ll still be updating Ask-Fade, though! It just won't be as frequently. 

There's a few reasons for this change, so I'm going to take some time and go into them for you Patrons.

The first reason is the most obvious, which was that I just have more motivation for other projects right now. I still love ask-fade and want to make good posts, but I feel my lack of motivation for ask-fade has been leading to lower quality results.

To add to that, ask-fade has been on a constant downhill run in regards to our analytics. Post notes have gone down and page visits are low as well. This could also be a result of the lower quality posts, and it may just be the format's grown stale as well, but it likely relates to my final reason.

I'm sure a few of you noticed that I've started advertising Fade's Twitter a lot more. When Yahoo bought Tumblr several years back, they made a number of rules around NSFW blogs that I've been fighting against through Ask-Fade's entire lifespan.  These are a few of the biggest problems:
1. NSFW Tumblr posts do not show up in search results.  This means that ask-fade pretty much does not exist on google.
2. Tumblr enables a NSFW filter by default as well as a dashboard algorithm that prefers SFW content. These can be disabled, but still have had a huge impact on blog growth since they were introduced.
3. If someone does not have a Tumblr account, they cannot view NSFW Tumblr blogs. I had to make the Ask-Fade Twitter just to show my best friends my posts.

There are more issues, but I think it's pretty clear that Tumblr has made it as difficult as possible for adult content to exist on their platform.
