2023-10-23 23:38:16 +0000 UTCAnd that's the end of Act 1 of Gekiranger, with a little bit of Act 2 in there. This climax is one of my favorite arcs, and it does something that I'm not sure a lot of other Sentai do. ...Because sometimes with how the flow of the tropes go: they get an additional (usually sixth) ranger to the team that's clearly more powerful than the original members, but then the original members(or just Red) gets a Super Mode to close the power gap. However in Gekiranger, they get Super Modes before they even get a hint of the new member of the team! π€£ Also since we have three more masters, here's three more references their names make. Pyon Biao is named after martial artist Yuen Biao (In Japan they pronounce it Yun Pyo, apparently), Michelle Peng is named after martial artist Michelle Yeoh Cho Kheng(Who starred in "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once!"), and finally there's Gorrie Yen who's named after martial artist Donnie Yen. I kind of wish the Evil Masters had the same gimmick. xD And then there's Long... Doesn't he look like Ankh? xD It's not the same actor, but I remember people pointing out the similarity when OOO's came out. I have a feeling you're going to love Retsu's brother... But here's a question for you: How much do you think he'd fit in Twilight? π
