Lil bit of context I guess and a fun fact. The West Coast was somewhat dormant in the mainstream at the time especially lyrically. The album detox had been teased for decades I remember showing my mom this track she was like detox ain't coming out knowing how long it had been there was rumoured Tupac verses even. At this time there was a lot of excitement of that class Kendrick wale lupe etc. so I guess Dre felt it and began working on detox again so much so that drake and Wayne thought they had writing credits on it (said on the song ransom) and Kendrick figured he'd be on it after signing to aftermath people were actually believing it could be released of course it never did we also learned dre scrapped it. There's this infamous clip of iggy azealia "freestyling" on stage and her "blaccent" was so heavy that not many even knew what she was talmbout but if you listen closely it's a whole as interpolation of this exact song not sure why she chose a song with such high difficulty to recite. It's really funny.
