GIF: Warp Speed Racers

I've had this animation idea in mind for a little while now. A cute crossover between video game mascots I've animated extensively before. I'll probably post a rough version of this in the upcoming week, but ideally, this will be fully colored. I'm imagining the glowing yellows would pop so nicely against a deep purple outer space backdrop.
