I can't say, because I haven't been in the English-speaking countries enough to have watched any of the shows with those reviews (like Family Guy and Simpsons), but I guess it's safe to assume the same thing could happen to R&M if the writer team undergoes major change, or if the corporate decides to use the show as a sell out cash cow, or other sorts of mismanagement. But I guess that's life, in a way.

ZZ

It sort of reminds me of how Family Guy used to be "funny" and have witty humor. Then when they came back, they kept using shock humor, more gore, and things just kept getting further and further away from what people enjoyed about the show. Now I hear it is just a shell of itself. I wonder if R&M will be a case of that if the writer's don't tighten things up.

I totally understand that. I have friends who are really curious about the series due to the praises, but still can't take the first step to watch it. They might have saved a few heartbreaks along the way... But still, their meta-humor-loving-souls don't know what they're missing when they haven't watched S4E6 the train episode.

ZZ

I personally stopped watching the series when it started becoming more gore and swearing than actual story. But I stopped a long time ago. Once in awhile I will pick up what's going on, but I am aware of the current status of things due to reading it online.

Yeah, reading some Reddit posts on the topic made me realize that my opinion was closer to the extreme end. I guess the wild imaginations that shaped season 2 and 3 built up my expectations differently.... If it weren't for the plot and the unpredictable twists, I wouldn't have watched the series at all, due to its profane and gory nature. Now the dirty things are becoming more prominent than witty writing in season 5 (with episode 4 as an extreme case), and I guess this misalignment with expectation really tipped my inner alarm.

Wow, right on! A half marathon! I could do a half of a half marathon... would that count for anything? ;-) Stay cool out there. :)

I wouldn't let one episode break your trust. It is quite impressive how much you thought into this though. It gives me hope that more people think critically... especially about AT&F (shameless plug, lol).

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Rain? Rain still exists?! I wish I was in that rain. Wanna trade spots temporarily? Lol. Also very nice you got to see the family. :)

I hope you have a very fun time! :D I'm very excited for you.

It has rained almost every day in July where I live. Pretty obnoxious. Doing some normal things again first the first time in a long time thanks to the vax. Saw my family for the first time in a year a few weeks ago, that was super nice. Mostly glad that things are more boring than they used to be.

Actually, to be honest, It's about 20% to have separate work and home spaces, 10% to be able to ask my coworkers questions directly, and 70% free food.

Borg Lord

Normal as usual, but this Friday to Sunday would be better! Cause I gonna wear Adorkable shirts for the local bronycon.

Estima

I had a nice time doing a half marathon near a national park, even if my trip was shorter by a day than intended. I hope to do more hiking and outdoor things, but the heat waves have made it easy to be lazy! At the very least, I'm enjoying shows like Loki and Goblin Slayer. I've been trying to catch up on shows I've been meaning to watch.

Orsuros

Yeah, after giving a little more thought, I find that I was actually doubting the writers team. The visuals and voice acting etc were still on-spot. The problem was with the pacing, the jokes, the topic, or basically everything about how the plot was handled. I mean, we have seen bad MLP episodes before, because there were different writers doing different stuff, but generally one MLP episode's performance does not indicate the ruin of the entire season. I can't say I know how the writer teams for R&M works, but they have fewer episodes and more continuity references between episodes. Since each season only has 10 episodes, and takes about 1-2 years to make, I'd expect the possibility for having a dud to be much lower than MLP's. It's definitely a red flag when an episode like S5E4 somehow made its way through to our eyes. Moreover, (spoiler) knowing that some decisions made in E4 is going to get referenced later on in the season, I really don't know if I'm supposed to take E4 as a red herring joke (which is also unfunny) and expect some magic at the end of the season to salvage it.

ZZ

Wow. That is a pretty serious charge. I guess I will see what happens then.

I'm not giving spoilers away. Any spoiler that piques your interests would lead you to waste your time on this horrible episode. I was seriously questioning myself if I should still trust that the rest of the season can still be worth a watch.

ZZ

Feel free to spoiler me. What did they do? Did someone explode or die?

The... Upper Peninsula? If so, what a lovely place! Love the nature, the remoteness of it all. Sounds like a real blast!

You really only go to the office for free food, don't you? ;-)

My summer was just recently ruined by S5E4 of Rick and Morty...

ZZ

I remember stopping by somewhere close to airport (but not that close) to buy shoes before leaving Portland, because I gotta enjoy the tax-free shopping experience at least once.

ZZ

Well I’ve got a trip to the U.P. planned for August, camping, biking, sight seeing! The works!

My office reopened on Monday, so after sixteen months of working from home I was finally able to go back in and enjoy the free food (and other perks which are clearly not as important as free food).

Borg Lord

Sounds great! It's a great area to explore! I'm sure you will have a blast!

I’ll be sure to do that. I have my route up planned and booked but I’m still thinking about where to stop on my way back down.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

It's a nice area... sort of a mix of commercial and warehouses for the port and airport. Not really residential. It's kinda cool how you are sort of right in the heart of where all my AT&F research was based on. :D If you have any questions about places or want to visit things, let me know and I can help out. :)

Actually Costco WILL be of good interest to me. Cheap groceries and decent bass and all

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

Totally safe. Next to a lot of shopping too if Costco is of interest. lol. From the Airport, about ten minutes away is the Vancouver, Washington waterfront. It is being redeveloped and a very cool place to visit. They have this like... ship-pier thing that goes out into the Columbia River. Worth a visit if you are wondering what to do in your hotel room. :) Also some good restaurants. https://goo.gl/maps/tFvDHvEf9muCqqJG8

It’s right next to Portland Airport and the Columbia River.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

I can help tell you if it's a safe area or not. Again, in normal times, the majority of the city is safe. But right now is kind of a weird transition period for the city and its politics.

Ummm…. Let me look at that address again.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

Bring some mace... Hopefully you got a hotel in a suburb and not right in downtown. Outside of downtown it's okay. In normal times, Portland is a beautiful city too. Powell Books is an amazing book store in the Pearl District. They have a cool riverfront.

…….crapbaskets….I already reserved a one night hotel stay in Portland on my way up….

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

Well... you've certainly seen the news I am sure. It's a disaster downtown right now. I was in Portland about a month ago. It looks like a war zone. Lots of stuff closed down due to nightly riots. During the day, crime is rampant. Police aren't allowed to enforce any laws right now due to the radicalism of the city government. It's a mess.

Thank you, I am trying to have a great summer. Been good so far.

Wait why avoid Portland?

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

Haha, thanks! Also ignore the drawing? Who could ignore such an adorkable face xD. Hope all is well with you and hope you are doing good this summer! Also also @AutoKnight I know how you feel about nights I’ve had to do 12hr night shifts. It has it’s pros but it literally flips your life around.

Well if you want a real road trip, the AT&F fictional Ponyville is sort of in a location between Vancouver, Washington and White Salmon, Washington within the scenic Columbia Gorge region. That is a beautiful roadtrip along the river with some great places to visit. ;) The city mentioned in AT&F as Fort Vanhoover is based on Vancouver, WA and Dockland is Portland, Oregon... but I would avoid Portland right now...

Well I do have two weeks off and I plan to make it one hell of a road trip. So I will keep those spots in mind.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

I wish I could go to Everfree this year, but I truly have nothing prepared. No merch, no nothing. I would be better off sitting on a box beside the hotel drawing pictures on napkins I grabbed from Starbucks across the street. I noticed this year the event is in a new place. Bellevue. It's a very different location from the ugly location it was next year next to the airport. It's in one of the wealthiest, ritziest areas in the Seattle Metro. Bellevue is a very beautiful city from my research. When you go, be sure to stop at Meydenbauer Bay Park and the Downtown Park next to the Bellevue Square Mall. It's a great location because there is so much to do there this year beyond just the event itself.

Haha I’ll be sure to spread word. Ever since you expanded to Twitter you’ve gotten noticed by a lot of people. So I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a good sized group at the con who didn’t know about AT&F.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

First of all, your avatar is awesome. "You're Gnasty!" Lol! Second of all, I'm glad your'e doing good! Humidity is a killer! It drains you of energy. Keep pushing through and try to enjoy your days off too. :)

Ooof. I've always found working the night shift is brutal when you have to transition back to daytime. I was lucky to almost always get a day in-between shifts like that, but it really messes with your body. It's also tough because like you said, you are up when the world is asleep... though it can be kinda neat to explore. I liked driving on the silent roads in the middle of the night. No traffic is a plus. :D Hey, sweet! I didn't know Everfree was having another show. One of the last great conventions going on. Spread the joy of AT&F and Princess Deadpool, and have fun!

Hey that's great! I would love to take some of that rain from you. But the last few days it's been quite cool, below average. We just need some rain. :D

Been going pretty well. It’s been super hot and when it rains the humidity has been extremely high. Otherwise, staying busy with work and sleeping in on my days off, haha.

I can’t complain about much right now. Only thing is for the moment I’m on overnight shifts at work. So my nights are my days and days are my nights. I’m up when everything is closed and asleep when everything is open. I’ve done a complete 180 but it will be over in three weeks and I can get back to normal again in time for my road trip up to Everfree Northwest.

AutoKnight01 (Princess Deadpool)

My summer's fine so far. Not too many burning hot days. In fact, there's been plenty of rainfall around lately, which I don't mind (as long as isn't endangering anyone). All that said, I need to go outside more.
