Have You Been Following The New MLP Content?

So let's see, we got a new after the new movie we got a 2D cartoon series, a new 3D special, and a new video/computer game coming out tomorrow (27 May).  All are on various platforms making it not as easy to follow as something like MLP:FiM that was always on one network.  The new shows premier on Youtube, on Netflix (which many don't have access too), etc.  So my question is, have you been following the new content?  If so, what do you think of it?  If you don't follow it, why do you choose not to follow it?

Have You Been Following The New MLP Content?

I had an idea cross my mind regarding the villain. So Posey seemed to just be the crabby neighbor and at the end she admitted to feeling jealous/left out. That was good and all, but here's my idea: after the festival she crosses into an alley and pulls out her phone, and a mysterious voice tells her to keep up the good work she smiles wickedly and says "yes Princess" or whatever and the episode ends. What do you think?

I just finished the first episode of Make Your Mark and it was decent, a little clunky (forgivable for a first), the game is not bad but the price/game ratio wasn't good. Haven't read the comics yet. The movie was a lot of fun. Tell Your Tale has some good moments but 5-minutes is shorter than the classic Looney Tunes so not a whole lot there.

So far, G5 has been pleasant and fun, but I feel like it keeps promising more development for the world and characters down the road. I really hope it can do more as we learn more about the world.

I only have kind of been following G5 stuff. I watched the movie and it was nice. Nothing spectacular, but not bad. I tried to watch the YouTube shorts, but couldn't get into them. I haven't watched the special and I'm not sure if I will.

I've been enjoying the "Tell Your Tale" show, though with five-minute episodes there's not a ton of substance to it. And I watched the new special as well; I felt it was somewhat missing the charm of G4 and the movie, but I still had a good time.

I watched the new "Make Your Mark" episode last night. Not as good as the movie but not bad. It seems to be hinting at finding out in the new season what happened to magic. And it's also gave us a sneak peek at a new villain.

I loved the G4 movie, liked the G5 movie (especially the visual design and voice acting) and enjoyed the first "Make Your Match" special. The "Tell Your Tale" series is just OK... it does provide some backstory and is definitely better than "Pony Life".

Uh oh! That doesn't sound good.

Like you, the shorts series didn't really excite me to watch. We got a lot of catching up to do it seems. :D

I did like the movie, but felt mixed on it as well. But far more positive than anything from me. As for the other content, the Youtube series doesn't appeal to me visually, but that isn't fair for me to say since I make a comic series that visually doesn't appeal to many people, lol. So I will watch it eventually. As for the Netflix thing, I will have to wait to see if that ever appears on TV. Thanks for your thoughtful thoughts!

The movie and 2D series are great. But the new 3D episode is a Total Disaster.

I've had my eye on those Bundles. I did buy one of the earlier bundles, I think the second one. Hoping for a third that includes them all. Sad to hear the G4 comics have ended, but they did a ton of them. Hope the G5 stuff is good.

I enjoyed the G5 Movie (A New Generation). Wasn't amazing, but I liked it. The YouTube series didn't have a great first impression, and it still is kind of hit and miss, but it has grown on me. The Netflix special is a lot more mixed. There are some cute, charming moments from the characters, but the story really needed a re-write. And some of the lighting and animation effects could use some improvement.

The new comics are G5, starting today. They did a short run of G1/G4 crossover (and also a G4/Transformers crossover!) after the regular G4 comics finished. You should be able to buy access to the digital versions of the comics as a set - Humble Bundle offered them twice already at a very attractive price.

All I’ve seen is the movie. I’ll definitely watch the special and might get to the short youtube series. Although the short series I’ll get to eventually wasn’t really super excited for it. It felt like a place holder for content between the movie and the main series when it comes out.

How are they to you?

Are the new comics still G4 or have they moved to G5? Or are they doing both? I've never read them. If there was a way to buy them in one big bundle to read, I would.

I have been watching the 2D series and the new 3D special. Have not played the game nor read the comics yet.

Also new comics! I haven't picked up the comic from the shop yet, but I have been watching all the new shows and wishlisted the new game. Enjoying everything so far!
