Dating Days Episode Discussion

Sometimes things just weren't the same for everyone.  It's impossible to make a character that perfectly fits everyone's memories, mold, or nostalgic feelings, but you can do a pretty good job at ticking most of the boxes.  It pretty much comes down to three boxes.

You have the memories of the "cool kids" (excuse my lack for a better term) who were the cheerleaders, sports kids, always had dates, blah blah.

You had the "just there" or "tweener" kids.  Yeah, I just made this up.  But these people weren't disliked or really loved.  They were just kind of there, didn't fall into any specific groups, and with that had the ability to hang out with everyone or know everyone.  There were harmless we can say.  Successful, but not too successful.  Bad at somethings, but never too bad.

Then you have the "not cool kids" who didn't get the dates.  Maybe they were very smart and got good grades.  They can also be the kids who didn't get good grades.  But their status as school would never be seen as elite.  They weren't voted the class president.

So what am I talking about?  When trying to model a character in AT&F we try to give a character traits that can be relatable to roughly one of these groups.  A lot of people on the internet relate to characters who aren't the most confident or maybe don't have the best luck dating.  Some people will relate more to Rarity here, being popular.  Point is, you want to have characters that can be relatable to all aspects of your audience!

Okay, I'll stop blabbing and go make dinner now.  I've been cooking this broth for pho all day and it smells amazing.  I'm ready to go boil me some noodles!  You're invited!

It happens. :-\ It's been awhile myself. I often wonder if I will ever find that special someone. But keep your head up and don't be down. Good things happen when you least expect it.

Almost 30. Never been on a real date. :(

It became my comfort food. :)

My first time having pho in a restaurant was in Portland. A lady sat next to me and mentioned this was her comfort food. I don't share the same experience, but I can imagine how it would feel like if the food is tasty.
