Introducing: Trent Ryder

A couple months ago now, I opened a poll about the possibility of introducing a small group of original characters into the DJU, these characters wouldn't be affiliated or based upon any of known franchises and allow them to introduce a lore into themselves. With several hundred votes and a landslide of around 80+% I figured I'd give it ago, so created tweaked and built a scratch built character that Cyrus tails has kindly rigged for me to use with the various modifiers that have been developed over time for the boys.

Okay, so who is he?

Well, this is Trent, he's 23 years old and is a student studying botany and biology. He has a job as a lab assistant at his university and in his spare time, loves doing what most early twenties get up to, drinking, working out, partying and, you can guess what else.

He's an assistant to a brilliant minded botanist, who is looking to cultivate new plant life to hopefully aid the creation of vaccines and alternate medical treatments by infusing DNA and chloroplasts. The various experiments though haven't gone too well though, and the grant and sponsors of this research are on the verge of pulling the plug.

The night before Halloween, Trent is asked to help his aspiring professor to try one final experiment. It's a night that'll change Trent forever! The desperate professor wants to trial his formula on human DNA, and needs someone of the perfect age, ideal fitness and mature enough to weld the responsibility. The penny drops and Trent protests, but in an effort to leave, the professor strikes him over the back of the head, causing him to lose consciousness.

Strapping Trent down, the crazed professor injects him with all the formula he can, the results seem to work almost straight away, as the gash to his head heals as Trent comes too! Realising what the professor has done, Trent tries to pull free of his bindings, but suddenly suffers a violent cardiac arrest and seemingly dies on the table.

Panicked, the professor slowly comes back to his moral senses and realises what he's done! With the rest of the students going out to various parties and activities, the area is virtually deserted. Carrying Trent's lifeless body to his car, the professor drives out to the woods to dispose of his body.

Once buried, the professor leaves hoping the true events of the evening will never be revealed, but secrets don't stay secret for long. Trent isn't in fact dead, he's evolving. His DNA is rewritten and his physiology changed at the subatomic level. Awakening in his shallow grave, Trent is reborn, and stronger than before. Physically unchanged from the outside, Trent's senses are extraordinarily heightened, senses of touch, hearing... he makes his way back to the dorms, and under the powerful spotlights feels the warmth heightened across his skin...

As for the professor? Trent is all to aware and collapsing on his bed, has a bizarre nightmare that the weeping willow tree in the centre of the gardens, roots suddenly burst out the grounds and strangle the madman.

The next morning, he feels completely regenerated and prepares to head to the police station to report his attack. But police are at the university campus already, fighting his way through the crowds of commotion, he learns that his professor was attacked last night, and was strangled under the weeping willow tree...

With his prospective career now in tatters as the police investigate a suspected break in and murder, and the dream he had that night scaring him, he quits the university and finds himself on the DJU's doorstep...

He's a cute guy that will fit right in I'm sure, but is there more to Trent, than meets the eye?

He's already got the attention of Sean Diaz and Stray, both of which whimpered "wow" in unison, was very cute. But any dream list characters you'd love to see Trent have fun with?
