Youre a bit mistaken about season 5. For all intents and purposes this was the shows finale and true ending. S5 is a one off season that was made full 7 years after the show ended. So while i know you saw pictures of season 5, for us this was the show ending and season 5 was just a nostalgic bonus we got to enjoy 7 years after missing all these characters!
